Very cute DIY decorations!

>>51252535
Maybe the blind box dolls.
>>
>>51252535
Blind box dolls for sub-100, 1/6 Azone or TinyFox dolls for 150~200. Quality does rise a bit if you're willing to spend a little more on the latter since blind box doll quality ranges all over the place
>>
>>51252731
where do you recommend shopping for azones?
>>
>>51252742
Azones are really really expensive right now because of scalpers, unless you have access to a proxy or forwarding service that youre willing to spend on, I would just try a cute blind doll first to get a taste.
>>
>>51252875
>>51252742
Amiami usually has them for a decent price, and sometimes Mandarake will have them. Pre-ordering one is the best way to get one for the normal price. Unfortunately we live in scalper hell like the other anon said.
>>
I dont know I feel like its crazy to get an azone unless youre a nostalgiafag or LOVE the aesthetic. For just a little more you could get a tinyfox, or for 1/3 of the price you could get a blind doll thats just as cute (in my opinion)..

>What materiel are you using for the cat?
It's just plain air dry clay from Crayola. It's cheap and easy to work with. I used the same clay to make a few different props for my last Merida set. Pic related, the loaves of bread on the left and the sun plate on the right are the same material.

Dead at the host level does not bode well, hopefully baldylox or whomever pays for their hosting just forgot to pay the bills. I really hope it's not dead, there's so much useful information in that website...
>>
>51252940
Hibiki is into a lot of things, but knifeplay is not one of those things. Besides, Lylas too much of a nice girl to do something like that to her oneesan.

>>51252875
Hobby search also carries Azobe stuff but I feel like they've been carrying less and less lately. HLJ can be a last resort. Azobe themselves are an option if you don't mind messing with a proxy/forwarder.

>>51253104
Blind box dolls are actually amazing for their price point... Unless you only like 1 or 2 out of the set and then you're just gambling. Getting clothing for them is another matter as 1:6 has so much variation in sizes, both in terms of clothes and body sizes.

>>51252731
Tinyfox 1:6 dolls let you swap out the eyes and wig. That kind of customization is a big part of owning a doll. Azones and blind box dolls usually, but not always, have rooted/moulded hair and printed decal eyes.

LMAO so much for that, and now another weekend is gone
also meant to follow up on the camera discussion last thread and just didn't have time
a few of us did do a local meet last weekend and I only brought this thing to take photos with
then I screwed up the film development (fixable) so you'll have to wait even longer for the results

This one is based and paganpilled.
Can't wait to see what you do for Mabon (and Samhain).
>>
>>51256478
Thanks! The Mabon one I'm working on now, it's going to be similar to the Summer Solstice (Litha) one, pretty themed dress, seasonal background. Samhain is a bit sticky for me, as I'm trying to keep it as un-halloweeney as possible. But it's coming together slowly.

I'm on a wrong thread. Fuck.
>>
>>51258827
I feel like you're over complicating it just try VR with an onahole
>>
>>51258850
I have. I have Magic Face 2 and I have tried it together with VR. It's annoying to get it match the head of the avatar. And the whole process is a bit awkward.

Using regular onahole also lacks the proper feel of a body. Sex dolls have that benefit. The dolls I have also don't really capture the anime girl look so that's why VR/AR is interesting to me.
>>
If you had a $1000 windfall you could only spend on dolls, what would you buy, anons? New doll? New wardrobe? Props? Fancy Y!JA head?
>>
>>51260420
All of the above.
>>
>>51260420
New wardrobe. I like having a small collection, and even though I like seeing other people's dolls, I don't feel the need to buy more of my own. I would love some custom outfits and $1,000 could probably get me one REALLY good one for each of my girls.

You could try commissioning someone who makes doll wigs.
Second option is to buy a "close enough" wig, then make the minor alterations yourself. A partial DIY.

I also didn't realize until right now that there are only 2 zoos in the US with giant pandas. I knew they were rare, but I've been able to take having them here for granted (even though reds are better than giants)

Question for people into this things: What kind of work has been done to that wig and what shape does the original wig had?
I am guessing it's a long hair wig shortened up to mouth level on the front to get the bangs then bun braided behind.
>>
>>51274722
From my understanding,

Wigs are assembled from scratch to create that specific hairstyle appearance. Wig hair fibers will not style in the same way as human hair.

Braids and bun were probably created separately and attached to the wig.
>>
>>51274722
Yes it does looks like the bang is from another set of hairs.

Are Iplehouse's 40cm-scale clothes more towards MDD or Minifee sizing? What a mess... do you think it's lack of business, or maybe the creator's just retiring? They were one of my favorites for dolls that look like actual people.
>>
>>51276226
Closer to minifee to my understanding, so not much for vinyl girls in terms of clothes. Gossip on other forums is saying it's lack of sales, probably because of tariffs and shipping prices. Apparently they've almost closed in the past and went to selling heads only for a while. People are hoping that's the case this time around too.

Sad news,
I think their dolls were popular with Russian collectors too. Probably due to war in russia.
I always liked their make ups, but they retired more of their 1/3 line and focused on 1/4 line.

That does make sense, a lot of the custom clothes I saw for their line sizes were from Russian and Ukrainian makers. It's always sad news when another doll company falls.

If you're not interested in the collab, you're going to have to go full custom. Vinyl will be an uphill battle as the body type for the collab isn't sold blank yet. There are a lot of resin dolls that will fit those dimensions, but that's about as far as I can point you. Check out ACBJD.com, they're legit, they act as a broker/forwarder for a lot of doll companies out of different parts of asia that you might need a agent for otherwise. Good luck.

i would avoid aliexpress personally unless you are very aware of what you’re purchasing. if you are not familiar with bjd recasts being a thing, googling “why are bjd recasts bad for the community” first will help you make a slightly more informed decision on how you ultimately choose to spend your money. idk what your character looks like, but maybe puyoo doll’s egg-04 head on a kumako boy body would work for you. there are so many sculpts out there though, so you really ought to browse a whole lot to find a good fit that resonates with you

Recasts destroy the livelihood of the people who actually make this hobby possible. If you want to get one, that's your business, but you are directly stealing food from the hands of the people who made the thing you claim to enjoy. At a time when long-established creators are shutting down because the economy, tariffs, and materials shortages driving up the cost of production have wrung dry the means of profitability, recommending recasts is a bit shit. It signals "I consider this artform to be nothing more than a dumb toy, and I want my dumb toy at the direct expense of the livelihoods of the sculptors, clothiers, and artists who make it all possible. And furthermore, I don't mind if my dumb toy is made by exploiting people in China's poorest manufacturing sector, who produce these dumb toys in a poorly-ventilated sweatshop without sufficient PPE (because they're essentially all made by the same factory.)" If you want to do that, that's your business; it's your money to spend, at the end of the day. But no one's gonna pat you on the ass for choosing to get your dumb toy through means which directly enshittify the hobby for everyone else.
