Every single bilingual person can just check MTL scripts side by side and see they are high quality. Not perfect, but high quality. The fact you proudly and openly refuse to do that is why you are confused on this matter. Every single translator I have spoken to acknowledges MTL is, at the very least, better than the average human translator (due in part to the low bar of the average human translator). Several of them have started AI QCing their script after seeing how many flaws are present in their work that they had no idea about. I have also spoken with people in publishing companies who reached out to me and they are grappling how to move forward in this reality as we speak. There is no derangement here. The world keeps spinning even if you turn a blind eye to it. This is not just going to go away because you rant about it on /jp/ and VNDB unrelentingly. People who disagree with you are not all part of an insane cult. It is just verifiably true that MTL is good, it has been verified by a mountain of evidence which you pointedly refuse to even check, and it is only getting better. It has been almost 2 months since this debate really kicked up and to this point there has not been a single serious translation takedown of a 5.6 Sol script, much less an Astra or Opus 5.5 script. With all the motivation people clearly have for proving MTL is still bad, it is very suspect that this has not happened yet.

Really, this entire point is dull at this point. It's just too obvious. The more remarkable thing is every fucking thing else AI is doing. We live in a world where mathematicians are discussing the transition to math 2.0 and software developers are talking about the end of software as we know it, all while the internet starts burning down due to AI finding innumerable security errors in essential software. The fact that LLMs can translate well is kind of incidental to all this and it is obviously pretty strained to plant one's flag on this small matter, like AI is upending every field EXCEPT translation, the one holy grounds where the ineffable human spirit wins for some reason.

2) Is undetectable in itself since the LLM isn't writing any text, you can only extrapolate it was used by high accuracy rates, which most normies will scoff off as the expected number

All other things equal one really has to be blind to not imagine it would be mass deployed. Are translation managers going to see their translators producing horribly inaccurate work and NOT tell them to fix it?

AI tools are a godsend for repetitive mass-scale work. Stuff like checking terminology conventions, making sure a character's speech quirk is consistent among all scripts, finding instances of accidental duplications of lines, whatever. And if it's not about VNs or vidya in general, they're also extremely useful in science and medicine work this could end up being a double edged sword, though - syphon filter anyone?
