My money's tight due to a period of joblessness and I'm trying to sell my PTR + 20 mags for 1k and getting no bites. I think I want to give up on selling it bc I bought it recently and don't want to take a bigger loss on it even if I can't shoot it much any time soon. Plus it's still cool to fingerfuck.

Good luck, I've been trying to save more money due to fear over a scenario like this. I'd rather have 10k in my savings account than a cool nvg setup especially since I already have a Gen 2+ PVS-14 I irresponsibly panic bought in 2021.

Kinda shocked that PSA isn't doing Carry Handle AR10s despite having the H&R line. Funny that CMP is going to produce M1 garands and PSA is doing M14s this year.

Bump

Need to get put to the range and get this zeroed. Glass bedded, unitized gas system, and trigger job, so it should be pretty accurate with the right ammo. I've got about 400 rds of Hirtenberger from DSA left over, and a box of 168 gr match. I'll report back eventually, it'll probably be 2 months before I can get out to the range again.

Scope has what i think is disintegrated weather sealing hanging a bit over the lens.

Was gonna rebuild it but the damn parallax is stuck so i cant get the rear lens off. no way to grip it properly. Hitting the scope against a surface has got it off in a corner not too annoying so im leaving it.

The glass is great but ive got a kahles of the era and it has none of these problems and the glass is even better. I forgive schmidt & bender. They were only formed 1957 so its one of their first designs.

Pattern 1907 sling seems more appropriate 2BH. Personally don't care for the M1 sling. The QD hook rattles a lot and overall it's just not that good as a shooting aid. Only thing it has going for it compared to the M1907 sling is weight.

Hello /brg/ what is your favorite type of optic to put on your rifles? Or are you an iron sights type of fella?
>>
>>64169222
Depends on the rifle
For ARs, I prefer an ACOG
For a BR, I like lpvos and mpvos, I'm actually considering a Leupold Mark 4 for my M14, it feels like a disservice to the capabilities of a br to not use something with magnification

>>
>>64171352
Put a new recoil spring in it and also buy a feeler gauge from Harbor Freight for like $2. Both of those and it should be okay. I only mention this because someone did a review of the CA-3 and Century being Century decided not to replace the recoil springs. If the spring is too weak you will start to get roller dents in your receiver and there is no fix to that other than to rebuild the rifle on a new receiver.
>>
>>64171748

What's the best cheap fully powered battle rifle? I'd prefer wood furniture if possible but I know that may be unrealistic. Additionally, are there any good shops that sell wood furniture for ARs? All the more classic looking ones are dead links and the only ones I can find look more modern.

So a G3 and CETME locking mechanism is different, the G3 is a plunger and the CETME locks onto a tab. On top of that the CETME C and CETME L have different size locking tabs and the CETME L is smaller so you can't directly connect a CETME L bayonet to a CETME C despite the muzzle device being compatible on all three rifles.

There's a second issue (at least on my example, a Century built G3); The CETME's front plug has a cleaning kit and the cocking tube does not stick as far out meaning that the you'd have to remove the cleaning kit tube. There's another difference where the G3 has one locking pin for the front plug and the CETME has two holes.

I think it's possible with modifications to a CETME front plug and your triple frame by
1) removing material from the lug so it fits in the bayonet
2) removing the cleaning kit tube
3) adding a hole opposite of the existing retaining pin hole on your triple frame
3a) You'll also want to egg the existing hole like on the G3 so you can depress one pin, rotate the pug and depress the 2nd pin for removal.

t. has a CETME C, G3 and CETME L bayonet in front of me.
>>
>>64174987
>You'll also want to egg the existing hole like on the G3
I mean on the CETME, the G3 only has one hole. I can take pics if you want but desu I'd just buy a G3 bayonet for another $50 and not bother

Is there some place that offers a guide on converting a pre existing 556 AR to shoot 9x19? I know that I can use the lower and need a seperate upper and a magazine block, but is that it?
>>
>>64178946
The recent century G3 literally dont have the recoil lug thing on the rear sight base for a claw mount. extremely stupid.

Id probably buy the century thing regardless and just cut the rear sight off and weld in a proper one. But i did build my g3 from a kit so

As long as you get a 9mm upper your g2g. You may have to change out the buffer weight but that all depends on your upper. As far as your magazine goes. also depends. Should just go fine in the mag well with an adapter.

Are the Ca-3’s so beat to shit that you’d recommended just getting a new Ptr or are they not bad? I’ve heard mixed. PSA has the Ca-3 for 700$ right now. Can I not just replace the spring bolt and carrier group?

Btw, the real ones come with a large black safety pin to keep the bando from swinging around. I have no doubt these are "real", just that hese various accouterments tend to get pinched en mass, like cleaning rods from the M9 holsters.

It's not much worse than I remember it being. 2008 was bad. 2020 was bad. 2025 is bad. There's always retards, doing retarded things. Everyone should be like me. I ended up with a spare Imbel barreled upper (but has an inch Gas block) and the Coonan has never been 100% reliable because of narrow feed ramps. The 770 is functionally the same to my armature eye. But will have better campfire bragging rights and a potentially thinner bbl, and lighter carry weight, and better wood, but same mag and function. If you have Wolverine dreams, get the SL7. If you want fit in, but be superior, get the 770. If you want to blow everyone away and be interviewed by Robin Leach, get the HK 940. To my knowledge, you would be the first and only on here with a 940.
