2 C-130s from Delaware National Guard buzzed my stupid town at about 150 ft above the ground. It's super hilly, one almost crashed into a hill apparently. Flight radar revealed where the planes were and the alt. Everyone in town says they thought the planes were going to crash and they were super low. National Guard is denying they did anything wrong. I heard them (they were super loud) but didn't see them. Apparently it's illegal for them to be below 2000ft over populated areas. Is this 1. people in my town being hysterical 2. national guard retards hotdogging 3. national guard DEI shit buzzing a town seems like it'd be a pretty giant issue, or do retards get away with doing dumb shit like this regularly?
All 3
Minimum altitude is defined as:>500 feet AGL>1000 feet above the highest obstacle in a 2000 foot radius in populated areasFrom 14 CFR § 91.119IIRC just off the top of my head aircraft are allowed to descend below 500ft>During in-flight emergencies>5nm from airfields>10nm from Airfield runway threshold on the same bearing
Sounds like NG hotdoggers were prob showing off at 150ft, not DEI nonsense, but townsfolk might be overreacting a bit—low C-130 training runs happen, though they’re supposed to stay above 1000ft over populated areas
I used to live in slower lower DE but liked watching the C-5’s come and go in Dover.
>>64186595There are relaxed altitude restrictions on military training routes. C-130s normally fly 300 ft AGL during the day. How do you know they were at 150'?
>>64189941>the C-5’s come and go in Dover. My favorite Bob Denver song.
>>64190047See the C-5's come and go in Do'ver.High up in the ol' kent county skyyyy. Droppin' down below the ridgline shoul'der,Buzzin all the good folk sayin hiiiiiii
>>64186595it sounds like your town being faggots for getting a free impromptu airshow and getting pissed about it
>>64190078You now remember that GW1 is closer in time to the vietnam war than today. By a couple of decades. Feel old?
>>64190134I want a Tropic Thunder sequel.
>>64186595I've seen a C-130 fly through a river valley maybe '50 above the trees. Also, AH-64Es are far more aggressive than the As were back in the '80s, often doing upwards of 100mph at <50' (admittedly, if the As had tried that, it probably would have broken some of our windows, because DANG those things used to be loud). These guys are trained for NOE. This is what they do.
>>64186595>a c-130 just flew over my house You're being gangstalked.
Is there an airport nearby your town? They could have been doing a low approach which is common. They also often fly Military Training Routes to train low level navigation. If you say where town is I could give you a better answer. Coulda been plain old hotdoggin. The people in your town are being faggots for overrating to this shit, they were lucky to get a free airshow. They deserve to get buzzed again
>>64190185There is no way they could make anything like it today.
>>64186595The laws are whatever Trump says they are.
>>64186595I grew up in a neighborhood where a bunch of kids went into ANG and chair force. We'd routinely have big girls do circle above our part of town, and probably a bit lower than they should. We just thought it was cool, but that was in the 1990s before everyone became giant pussies.
