Admit it, come boog/shtf we're probably getting clapped by a $300 PSA rifle.

*biological weapons
its not like they just magically disappear during a collapse
>>
>>64188480
Most people wouldn't die from violence. They'd just run out of food and water when the aid convoys stop rolling and die on the side of the interstate after walking for days.
>>
>>64188480
There's a lot of different risk factors, but some desperate broke person with a $300 PSA is definitely one of them.
>>
What's the accuracy lottery like with the basement bargain PSAs?
I have a ruger built that does 1 and under @100yd with OTMs.

No, mine is the ass that claps.
>>
Depends where you're at
Boog starts with America's fracturing and if you're like me on the west coast that likely means an organized Mexican presence with ancient claims to the land, possibly Chinese presence too. Another American with a PSA shitrod is the last of my worries
>>
If we're ever to a point where our small arms actually matter, something has gone horribly horribly wrong.
>>
>>64188746
Yeah I'm real worried about the chink optics they never zeroed and the gen 2 pmags they'll over-insert and have no idea how to clear kek. Even FSP uppers from PSA come horribly canted so even their backup irons will be a mile off. The real concern is Bubba and his granpappy's 30-06 hunting rifle
>>
>>64188696
Now those same Abrams are getting acked by cheap drones. Quantity > Quality

There's a long, long list of things that will likely kill me before a shootout and even then the odd of it being a PSA shitrod are slim to none
>>64188974
I hope next time you go to start your car the battery is flat and nobody is willing to give you a jump
>>
>>64188480
your chances of getting clapped by pic related are significantly higher.
>>
Its always a topkek how absolutely mad PSA makes anons.
>but they are bad
I have a BCM Recce 16 upper on a PSA lower that was so cheap I cant even remember the price ($150? $250? lmao). If I drop you, then under Federal Law you died to a PSA.
>>
>>64188480
I have 300 weaponized drones and solar charging capabilities, no one can fucking touch me or anything I deem mine.

Maybe for city plebs but they might have a week tops before it becomes a barren hellscape. Rural chads have distance and long sight lines to their advantage and yes, fuck off we are full, and yes, that section of dirt you stepped on DID give way until you heard a tactile "click".
>>
My plan for shtf is do a Vietnam war LARP until someone blows me away in ambush while I'm on a VC patrol/sweep.

>>
>>64189188
The common to US vernacular would be dead battery, not flat. Easy profile.
>>
>>64189005
this is the way to do it these days. I think if you're gonna build your AR, it's better to go all Aero then slap a Criterion barrel in it. But all my lowers have been and will continue to be PSA because I'm a cheap bastard and you can't convince me it makes a real difference. Uppers, on the other hand
>>
>>64189182
Yeah, Zev Braun out did himself. Still a hyper senstive, hot button topic during it's original airing, it was handled with respect and finesse. Honestly, the production design (and casting) for the street and bar scenes was spot on.
>>
>>64189134
Texan, but I grew up watching Top Gear and a bunch of other British and Australian shows so I use a lot of Britsh vernacular. For example I'll use the normal pronunciation of aluminum when talking about most things unless it's a car part, then I use the British pronunciation. Plus flat batt is more fun to say than dead batt

>>64188480

It's not common but it would indicate either an older person of some specific USA regions or a person who was around them and occasionally speaks old style.

Guarantee more than 1 person on this board has heard "it's gone flat" in reference to battery voltage, in the USA.

My vote is most die of dehydration in the first month, every death after is by exposure. We're so fat as a society they'll survive for no joke- months without food. Water system going off will kill many in the cities without access to water. Once the first winter comes with no heating or those in search of food/water with no appreciation for how cold you become after getting wet will become the majority of deaths.
It's mildly concerning how many people in modern society don't know how to survive without society.

>>64189002
Truly the worst way to die is from the infection of a rusted to shit .25 auto.
>Jamal approaches you to trade
>DeShauwn jumps you from behind
>pulls a .25 auto at point blank range
>shoots you in the leg
>after the first shot the .25 jammed
>you easily kill your assailants
> the next 3 weeks you slowly succumb to sepsis.

>>64188588
you can go on little food for a long time, water not so much, but minor injuries and diseases without basic medical care causes more fatalities than conflict. Malaria, typhus, dysentery/dehydration.

>>64188480
yeah there's definitely diminishing returns on a $2000 AR-15 vs a $600 one. but it's not a zero-sum game, it's all about stacking the odds in your favor for a slight advantage. a clearer optic with higher magnification than a red dot? potentially lets you identify a hostile raider at a further distance and engage them because they can hit you. a better made and more reliable gun? might just stop an unlucky jam at a critical moment. free float handguard? maybe your shot will actually hit the heart or brain instead of missing it by an inch. if you are preparing for a life-and-death situation, why would you want the odds in your favor as much as possible for a couple hundred more bucks?
>>
>>64188939
And the people that choose to use small arms are the ones that get killed off first. There is historical precedent for every SHTF scenario and in none of the examples can you find a situation where isolated individuals that indiscriminately murder "in self defense" reign supreme

This meme needs to die a painful fucking death. The VC were damn near completely useless during the war and yet everyone wants to act like they were the primary fighting force of North Vietnam and not the fucking North Vietnamese Army. Yeah the VC were just dudes in sandals, they weren't the ones that caused such high phantom losses or had such an advanced SAM network it caused us to develop SEAD/ DEAD, the Wild Weasels, and the F117 just so we would never get smacked so hard again. The sooner popular culture can accept Vietnam was a conventional war with the VC, Laos, and Cambodia being sideshows the sooner the collective IQ will raise a few points

People tend to undersell how much plague fucked up the Roman Empire as it was collapsing.
You know what stopped most of the plagues in the Eastern Roman Empire after the time of Justinian? It's hard for plague to spread when every city that isn't named Constantinople is a depopulated post-apocalyptic shithole and trade movements have largely collapsed because who's buying when they're all dead?
Same rules apply today. In a theoretical collapse situation pandemic isn't on the table. Lower population density combined with more sedentary populations.
>>

>It's hard for plague to spread when every city that isn't named Constantinople is a depopulated post-apocalyptic shithole
The upside is with 1/3 less population people are automatically ealthier and this sets the stage for the move from The Dark Ages to The Enlightenment and Renaissance.

>gunfights won't happen in real life
Not only this, but no one in SHTF or otherwise ought be seeking them out.
Whole point of arming up, getting proficient w/ firearms needs to be : *avoid* gunfights

>>64188588
>Most people wouldn't die from violence
checked, likely not in total WROL / SHTF.
Anyway as said above it's not going to be 'masses of gun battles'
Get proficient with an economical effective "rig" of firearms, rifles first. Probably good to have a pair of go-to rifles, bolt action and semiauto, plus one or two handguns. Whatever chamberings, just be fucking comfortable and proficient with them and have plenty of ammunition

Most people in the incoming global collapse of the debt market are going to die en masse in urban population centers, armed w/ firearms or not. They'll starve or dehydrate, or kill each other off with blunt-sharp instruments, fists, or their own excrement within a few weeks.

My desire not to live in a post apocalyptic/completely ecologically devestated/return to tribalism where even clean water is hard to find/open shooting civil war that will completely destroy modern society and reduce the US to third world status for generations is somewhat reasonable considering I'm 40 with no wife or children to protect. No, but it's not because the rifle or the Romeo 5 on top of it isn't capable. It's because whoever buys that PSA has never zeroed their shit, and can barely operate the gun.

You should be a lot more afraid of boomers with scoped guns that go hunting every year. They know their area and they either have a lot to lose, or nothing to lose.

>No, but it's not because the rifle or the Romeo 5 on top of it isn't capable. It's because whoever buys that PSA has never zeroed their shit, and can barely operate the gun.
My first rifle was from PSA and i slapped a Romeo 5 on it. You described me spookily. However, I zeroed my rifle immediately and put ~3k rounds through it before moving up to a BCM+AERO build.

Y'all clowns be making a lot of assumptions.
