Whats up des/k/jockeys. I just got off the phone with the county and animal control at my new property where I'm staking land to build a cabin. A couple of pitbull mix dogs ran out of nowhere barking and baring teeth. I was going to shoot them I walked back to the car pretending to be calm before they got close enough to lunge. Lucky I didn't because the local sherrif has officers in trouble for shooting dogs and now the county told me I can't kill them unless I live on the property and can't escape or some harebrained bullshit. Animal control said a woman who couldn't get into her house because of strays was okay for killing them. So its about defensibility on your property I guess. But I'm trying to prepare the land which is completely undeveloped. Dig a road, clear the foundation, stake boundaries so I need to work but not allowed to shoot like a british man with a home invader. They suggested a literal long stick or mace. I have bear spray, but I like the idea of actually hitting them with a stick more and breaking their ribs especially if they have an owner. I would want to protect myself, and if they die....thats too bad. I know half of you have some experience that isnt larp and the other half are european so you probably know all about using weapons that aren't guns. I can't believe I can't fucking shoot them.
