Why did he do it?
>>64193122You wouldn't get it.
Most likely he trained will less fueled plane before
>>64193122Ziggers were making a move. He had to get it on.
>>64193122>νεατ!
>>64193122I dunno, that was way too low. Probably easy to get carried away if you grew up watching Top Gun tho.
This seems like something where an automatic ejection seat would be useful, it should trigger at the point where ground intersection becomes inevitable. What's the reason that isn't done?
>>64193122He remembered something from 10 years ago?
>>64193272He probably thought he was gonna make it
>>64193272>at the point where ground intersection becomes inevitableHard to reliably estimate when that is, fuel and stores load, air thickness, max thrust on worn engines, turbulence, are we already in a spin / stall condition and how bad is it? Is there mechanical damage, hydraulic damage?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkZGL7RQBVwInstead, some systems can detect a situation (high descent + roll + no control movement, probably), then roll and pull before things get unrecoverable. Also air shows are risky, first line of defence is to not do them.
>>64193409It wasn't even the air show proper. He was just warming up.
>>64193405Ejecting while in a massive descent rate would have gone poorly as it takes time for the process to complete, and ejecting during the pullup can land you in the fire you created. And ejecting before doing the vertical dive wouldn't have occurred to them because who intends to fuck up their dive?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZbvQcOm1PAClassic airshow fail, btw, this guy barely gets away with it. Everybody should watch "EJECTION DECISION" 53574 as it gives you some insight into what a good seat can safe you from and what it can't.
>>64193122>RETARDRETARDRETARDRETARD>KURWAAAAAAAA!!
>>64193272It’s a needlessly complex solution. If the aim is truly to eliminate fatalities, drones could easily replace manned flights, but then it wouldn’t have the same thrill or spectacle, would it?
>>64193122Greatziggers are gonna post this for years to come now
>>64193548Not like it means much honestly, it was an air show fuck up, it didnt get shot down or drop a bomb in a friendly city or lose power and crash into an apartment complex or shoot down a civilian air liner or...
Is it easy to overlook whether the instruments are indicating the required speed or altitude when flying in twilight or upside down?
>>64193405Guy who's played DCS here. I figured out the problem. He didn't cut the afterburner and deploy the flaps on descent. He was sent to the earth by his own engine.
>>64193783He just forgot to cut the AB.
>>64193122WTF was he doing in full afterburner the whole time? That seems a bit odd.
>>64193929Yeah, full afterburner in a low descent pointed straight at the ground. What was his left hand doing, pulling back on the stick the whole time?
>>64193143
They should have bought Gripens instead
>>64193122Eastern European machismo means they refuse to use a soft floor like the rest of the world, with just 100ft AGL soft floor he would have been fine.
>>64193929>>64193939He was so slow at the top he needed to gain speed to decrease his radius but by the time he's ~90deg nose down he should have cut, at the point staring at the ground his brain might have frozen.
>>64193863I don't even play dcs and I second this.He was nose diving with the AB on without engaging the flaps.
>>64194854>too much time at the gym and not in the sim
AB seems to be useful for any maneuver as long as it's not a steep dive at low altitude.
Wouldn't have happened with canards
>>64193122>https://x.com/remizacompl/status/1961150829219438624Poland is still an ex soviet shithole. They lost another jet in the same exact way a year prior and they didn't even think to change the hard floor level or change the manouvre.
pretty sick until the crash though
>>64193122What's the point of those airshows? Militaries seem to constantly lose valuable pilots there for 0 benefit.
He saw a bobr on the runway.
