>Designed with the fisherman in mind

da fuq why would a fisherman need a shotgun? Are the fish packing?

Wildlife and junkies depending where you fish.
>>

People in the south go fishing in shallow weedy swamps full of reptilian life and they shoot every snake they see because they can’t figure out how to stop fucking with them, they can’t tell the difference between snakes, and fucking with a cotton mouth or rattler is likely to get you bit.

I have cousins who live in Northern Louisiana and whenever I go there and we go fishing, it amazes me how much earlier I see the snakes, how terrible they are at discerning harmless snakes from venomous snakes, and how incapable of resisting the urge to harass a snake (that they can’t identify) they are.
>>
My dad use to have one of these for around the acreage, probably still does somewhere. The sliding lid for the ammo in the stock is shit and breaks from casual usage.
>>
It's not for the fish, it's in case you get visited by future doctors and astronauts trying to diversify your family on the trip
>>

Love me single shot shotguns, throwing adapters into the mix makes me love them more.
>>
Why would you ever shoot a snake when you could just hit it or throw it with a stick? I've never once shot a snake.

snakes are always around waterways, they fucking swim
how are you this retarded?
>>
>>64196437
I assume lots of places that have fish also have snakes
But here in bongland it's not uncommon for fishing vessels to carry a shotgun, to delete seagulls that poach the catch
These are frequently not loicensed

What did they mean by this?

I've encountered a lot of venomous snakes and have never had any issues, why do rednecks always insist they need to kill every snake they see?
>>
>>64197731
If its a very active snake rocks of insufficient size just tend to piss them off and in water there is not ground to crush the snake against. I never needed one and think snake shot isn't worth the weight and money but faggots who worship animals are retarded. Animals are either prey, pests, or largely irrelevant. Most snakes are irrelevant unless you have small children around, its hard to kill a adult man with a snake bite and it often takes hours for symptoms to manifest. So go home and if you get too sick go to the doctor.

Snakes aren't even important for rodent control: cats, owls, and redtails each eat more in a week than snakes do all year. Herons too come to think of it.

You are an urbanite faggot, nobody really cares about snakes these days because they are rare, but they used to be a nuisance in Appalachia, its not fun to be sick for a week because you stepped on a copperhead.

That said most snake population reduction was actually a result of interstate construction because the road was deliberately laid along exposed bedrock to save costs, guess where snakes like to den up for winter. Prior to a new overpass of I-80 going in around 96 you'd have to bash the woodpile with a log to get the two or three rattlers in there to tell you where they were before getting firewood.

Familiarity breeds contempt, assuming the familiar thing is a pain in the ass.

My niece done got bit by a copperhead and died because of that

Because they find them near often frequented places and probably have children that spends time in those places often.
If you all of a sudden saw/smelled a bunch of human corpses in your favorite park, would it feel more welcoming or less?
If I'm not in nature escaping humans when I run into them, it's off with their head via shovel.
>>
>>64198149
You've encountered them on hikes or something. Encountering a venomous snake on your own property means that there's going to be more if you just let them do their thing. You wouldn't kill a random rat you see in an alley, but you'd kill one in your studio apartment, right?
Anyway last time I saw a Copperhead was years ago. I leave the garter and rat snakes alone as they're harmless and eat pests. If I had chickens that would be another thing, as rat snakes love to get into coops and eat the eggs.

>Stainless steel
>Plastic
>Cylinder bore
>18" barrel for shooting a snake point blank at the waterline
This exact thing and why you actually carry while fishing sold a gorillion staiHUEnless steel Taurus judges, of course with a rifled 3" barrel absolutely useless for shot and a bad 5 shot .45lc for the dirt bags trying to push in on your fishing spot/see if you have any copper.

Most like me 5 minutes ago just OC a full sized handgun
>2 guys drive their shitty truck to other side of dirt road, park, and pop the trunk
>Proceed to nigbabble into their cellphone in Arabic and Spanish for 20 minutes
>Start cranking radio every couple minutes in hopes being annoying clears us off
>Catch bass in front of them
>Go back to own truck
>OWB holster no longer under shirt tail
>Me and mine all have guns because fishing
>Keep fishing
>They fuck off, not fishing
Part of me doesn't get why certain types of people are such faggots about normal human interaction when a nod and palm raise acknowledgement is all it takes to post up a respectable way down the shore from someone to fish the same spot, but the other part of me knows exactly why.

That's only because they *usually* don't inject venom when bitting a human. They have the kinda venom where the first symptom isn't pain or swelling, it's rhabdomyolysis

what a polite snek
>>
>>64201539
I wouldn’t go fishing in cloudy piss colored water

I actually have one of these. Though the plastics broke decades ago. Right now it has some makeshift wood
