Okay, so I am looking for a nicer more feature complete 9mm handgun to keep near my nightstand incase Jamal breaks in, but more importantly to be able to run tons of rounds through it for fun at the range with minimal issues. I am coming from a Ruger P89 that has seen better days. I am considering an M9A4 since from the factory as it ticks all the boxes that me giggle like a retard that just discovered roblox;Hammer FiredHolds 15+ roundsUnder barrel railsThreaded BarrelOptics Ready$1200 is a lot to dump on a handgun. Before I make this financially irresponsible decision I'd like to know if /k/ knows of any other handguns with the same feature set that are not dogshit?
>>64197733The stock optic cut on the berettas kind of suck, the aftermarket LTT cut is better
>>64197733I'm pretty sure a 92x has all of that minus the threaded barrel which is like 200. I think that would all be under 1000 and you'd have a spare barrel. Not sure if the barrel needs fitting or not though.
>>64197733For what you are asking for, that’s a really good option. If the cz75 omega was still being produced I would have thrown that into the list. I’m personally married to the DWX. But 2011 hybrids arnt for everyone.
>>64197776Beretta OEM threaded barrels can be had for like 160 on a big Beretta website sale and should not take any fitting at all.
>>64197793Well there you go op. Pretty much the same thing you posted for 8-900
>>64197733Laugo Alien
>>64197733You want >>64197754 with the Steiner optic.>>64197793They're almost perpetually out of stock because they're really popular.
>>64197733You want an m9. Maybe a 92 if you don't plan to deck it out, but if you want to do that, just go for the m9
>>64197733If you like Berettas get a Beretta. You'll probably shoot it at a testing range once and put it away forever. Most here will recommend a CZ75 variant or their EAA Witness clones. They're far more comfortable than a Beretta which are considered some of the most uncomfortable handguns. If you aren't set on steel frame there's the HK hammerfire handguns. FN also had the FNX which is a cheaper version of a USP with full ambi controls.>>64198056>$6,000These would sell like hotcakes if they actually had a realistic price, they'd be the new meta. They could get government contracts if they got the price down to $600, still well over what they actually cost to make, and stopped with the meme aesthetics and made them look professional. Memes aside it's a great design.
>>64197733>The B&T MK-II has all these features.>The SIG P229 Pro just needs an aftermarket threaded barrel.>The FNX .45 Tactical has all the features but is not 9mm.
>>64198299I've owned a 75B, FNP, FNX, USP, VP9, 1911 in both 9 and 10, and currently own an M9A4. The M9 is better and more comfortable to shoot than every one of them except the 75B, and with some work I'm certain I can make it as good. Don't trust anything from EAA.
>>64198299>$6,000They were $1200 at PSA just a few weeks ago. I guess they've all sold out now.
>>64197733Do itThe Beretta 92 is the only gun I have ever double dipped on and I am not ashamed to triple or even quadruple dip with it.my only real gripe with the A4 is that it is FDE only. But I'd grab one to fully trick out with optics and everything
>>64198613Are all your 92s stock Berettas, or is one of them a custom/semi-custom like Langdon Tactical?
>>64198697Ones an M9A1, the other is a 92FS Inox
>>64198701Good selections.
>>64198613been there, done that
HK P30
>>64197733Cz p09 optic ready version may be an optionThreaded barrels aren't horribly expensive
>>64197733Arex Rex Zero 1T. You can find them for $800 on gunbroker. Mine has been unfailingly reliable until I didn't clean the firing pin chamber after 3 years of shooting and I poured oil in it and it gunked up with all the carbon and made the spring slip over the firing pin. The DA trigger is bad but the single action is fine. Better QC than a modern Sig P226. Only valid complaint is that they are fucking wide. Significantly wider in the hand than the comparable sig (P226 and P229 vs Zero 1 and Zero 1C). I don't mind it because I've just gotten used to it, but that's the main complaint I hear. You can get the competition hammer spring, but I've been fine without. The trigger guard is also pretty large since it's intended for the Slovenian military to use with gloves. Also you need to make sure you get one with the second-gen grips, not the ones in this pic. I didn't realize how bad the grip scales like this were till I handled a buddy's, the 2nd gen ones are insanely better.
>>64199438pic related is mine with the second gen grips. Gonna buy a Zero 1T soon to suppress and mount an optic on, but the 1C is my EDC in a kydex IWB holster.
>>64197733Nice digits OP, but rails and optics are a meme. You'd do fine with a vanilla 92FS or Sig P226.
>>64199210I kick myself for not taking the subcompact Px4 pill
>>64199438>>64199444Arex is crazy good. The DA can be really patched up with one of the adjustable triggers btw
If you are in PA, I will sell you my 92fs. 5 15rd mags. $500 flat
hammer fired means nothing nowadays since guns like the FiveSeven or the Equalizer or even the Laugo Alien have internal hammers
>>64202203Hammer fire is more reliable and can have a better trigger than striker fire. Even internal hammer, doesn't matter. Strikers are cheap shit that don't even have second strike capability.
>>64197733Get another p89, if you run out of rounds you can beat them to death with it. I love mine, trigger is mushy but it shoots flat as fuck
>>64197733Make sure you try to get an Italian made one. The ones made in Tennessee are still a QC minefield no matter how much the US-made fanboys screech. If you can't get an Italian one look over for burrs and rough spots, my TN-made one had a burr where they drilled the front sight and gouged the outside of the barrel. Also try to feel up a 92x vs 92FS in person first. I got an 92x and I've grown to hate the vertec grip more despite giving it a chance, and the grip module that mimics the original backstrap does not live up to it's name, it just doesn't fit my hand as natually as an FS. YMMV though, like buying pants from a new brand, you gotta try it on first.
>>64197733FNX-45T is still my go-to for all those qualifiers. It makes .45 feel effortlessly manageable.
>>64198613>my only real gripe with the A4 is that it is FDE only.92x with threaded barrel, works in any color including inox now.
>>64202611If God came down to earth and said you can bring back anyone from the dead I would say Ruger p89. It's all been downhill since they went.
>>64197733I have been totally unimpressed with berettas qc lately. My 1301 and 92fs both had issues. Id steer you toward a cz phantom
>>64197733You can't do much better than a 92. The Langdon stuff is expensive but totally worth it I will mention the px4 series also. The g-sd full size is one of the softest shooting guns, especially considering the low weight.
>>64197733Grand power k100 mk23
>>64202393Everything you just said is technically wrong
M9 is greatCan get a czp09 for $600 that hits the marks if you dont mind a polymer framed and aftermarket threaded barrel
>>64197733Spend a bit more and get the LTT 92 Elite RDO with all the options like trigger job and carry bevel. It's one of the few custom guns that is actually worth the money and has a decent turnaround.
Well, you posted the meta choice yourself. If that's too expensive but you like Berettas, you could always pick up an older/cheaper model 92/M9 or PX4 and get the optic cut and other LTT upgrades. >>64199214Seconding this if OP is interested in a polymer frame handgun. I like that the safety and decocker are separate mechanisms and allow you to carry cocked and locked. Also bonus points for being able to change both the backstrap and side grip panels.
