I'm scared anons. Have you, or do you know anyone who has gotten in to their branch with psoriasis? My shits 100% documented in some hospital and there is no way MEPS doesnt find it. Searching forums and ledditor posts and seeing they all pretty much get denied even when requesting a waiver is making me depressed.
>>
Getting closer, anons. Eval coming up this month. Hopefully I get cleared so I can go to meps. It's about time.

>>

Prior active duty will affect your pay somewhat since you have years in service but otherwise youre on the same path as the ROTC or neverserved classmates.
>>
>>64201357
Just look around on LinkedIn. If the military didn’t offer post-service, nobody would be joining. But of course you already knew this
>>
>>64201578
>LinkedIn
This is only relevant if you had cyber or Intel as an mos. Or were special operations or something like that. For most people it's useless.
>>
>>64201759
Just like all of the other assumptions you make without any personal experience on the matter, you're wrong again. Make a LinkedIn and do some real research. You will find all sorts of fellows who bettered themselves. The best personal example I have is a guy at my office who used to be an 88M who is now an IBM certified solutions architect.

You, clearly, would be quite surprised what motivated adults can accomplish when given the resources they need to achieve their long-term goals. Most people don't want to dwell in the crab bucket, though I can only assume you grew up in some buttfuck Midwest town where nobody made it out and the bar for success was set low enough to comfort you in your mediocrity.

Give me a (You) if you're too afraid to confirm my suspicions
>>

Grew up on the east coast. Thought the military was a good idea. It wasn't. Using the GI bill now though. Literally nothing in the military has done anything for a resume. That's all been on me well after the fact. All shit I could have done with grants and scholarships.

The military isnt this golden key that unlocks the world for you. You'd know this if you were actually in, instead of trying to convince people to be slaves for israel.
>>
>>64201946
Civilian here, but you have a point. As with most things, the truth lies between two extremes. You have the "just do 4 years and get six figures when you're out bro" faggots on one side, and the "no jerbs outside the military bro" retards on the other. I personally don't see why veterans expect the service to wipe their behind. I'm sure it can be a good stepping stone to better things but legwork is needed to extract maximum benefit.
>>
>>64201759
Bullshit, you just aren't applying yourself. A supply guy can word his service in a way that employers will understand. So can a mechanic. So can an infantryman, even. If you put some stupid shit like a copy/paste from your counselings or NCOERs or use military-specific jargon then employers won't know wtf you did, but if you translate shit like property accountability or command supply discipline programs or leadership skills into terms they're familiar with then your prospects are a lot better. Like everything related to the military, you have to take the initiative to succeed, shit's not just gonna get handed to you.

Who said anything about jargon? Literally no employer care you spent X number of years turning a wrench fixing beat to shit, barely functioning humvees, tanks, brads, lmtvs or some other woefully obsolete vehicles from the late 90's or gwot era. No one cares if you were an 11b and his only experience is 1. Sweeping the sun 2. Shooting iraqi people for defending their home, or you spent that time ordering things though supply.

>Like everything related to the military, you have to take the initiative to succeed, shit's not just gonna get handed to you.

Which is exactly why im using the GI bill. All of which i could have done through grants and not put myself thoigh 4 years of bullshit. Legitimately, the military itself outside of those specific mos's and sf is nothing but a placeholder or something to strech out a resume. The military itself isn't worth jack shit outside of some specific areas as previously mentioned.
>>
>>64202070
Have you?
>>
>>64202094
You are aware that this opinion comes across as extremely uninformed and only furthers the suspicion that you’re a non-serve with a sour grapes complex, yeah?
>>
>>64202129
It's intresting how you won't show your dd214.
>>
>>64202139
Why would I give you the tools to fabricate a false story about your sorry life? All I have to do is ask you for proof and you immediately prove you’re pretending to be something you hate because you know your worthless opinion is.. well, worthless. You yourself are acknowledging that the opinions of those with personal experience trump those who “did their research” like yourself, and no matter how much demotivational crap you hawk in this general, you still know that the status of veteran overrules all of that
>>
It always fascinated me.
>the military is great! I will proudly put the unifrom on for 20 years!
Lol shut up. The military sucks.
>the military is garbage. I cant wait to get out
Lol shut up. The military is awesome.
>>
>>64202148
What tools? You cant take a picture of the bottom corner of the form that says dd214 with a time stamp?
>>
>>64202166
It seems you can’t either. It’s okay bud, your refusal works in my favor, but that doesn’t work the other way around because I’m not spouting uninformed opinions. If you want to be an outlier, you have to prove you are a valid data point, rather than discardable noise. But feel free to keep complaining like a whiny Jew, keep those finger joints limber so at least one part of your body isn’t completely out of shape
>>
>>64202180
Exactly. Burden of proof is on the accuser. You sound a lot like a recruiter that talks a big game about how awesome the military is, yet people are seemingly always overjoyed to to ets.

How can I get mossad to pay me to groom people into joining the US branch of the IDF?
>>
>>64202152
It's neither, or at least, neither for the majority of people. Idk what the deal is with all the weird obsessed schizos in these threads but every time I give people advice I tell them to be coldly calculating about their decision to join or not and to take any camaraderie or cool experiences as a pleasant surprise rather than something to expect as a universal feature of service, just like how I also tell people not to expect just doing 1 contract as intel or whatever to set them up for life (even though it might if the circumstances align).
>>
>>64202274
Literally the entire purpose of /meg/. The truth is always somewhere in the middle between propaganda and demotivational agitprop. At the end of the day, it’s a form of employment that has federally-backed rewards upon fulfillment of standardized requirements.
>>
Howdy nerds,
Joining soon, wondering if anyone has insight. I'm studying IT shit and want to work in cybersecurity like every other zoomer.

Should I try for an MOS in cyberwarfare shit or should I just go for the most doorkicker-y operator bullshit I can and get a degree while I'm in? Ideally I wanna set myself up to be a potential candidate for spooky fed shit or a corporate equivalent and I'm not sure whether or not the special forces stuff would be more useful for getting a job than resetting people's passwords in Virginia(even if that is technically IT experience).

Anon read your post again. If you want to do cybersec, what the fuck does being infantry or whatever do for you?
Go Army 17C or 35N, or Navy CTR or CTN or CWT, or whatever the Air Force equivalent is.
