Not only that, it's way worse:

Today, the lives of many Russians will completely change due to the implementation of a whole package of new laws:
>Advertising VPNs is prohibited, with fines up to 500,000 rubles.
>Any advertising on Instagram is banned, with fines up to 500,000 rubles.
>Banks are tightening control over cash withdrawals at ATMs. Transactions will be blocked if deemed suspicious.
>Lighters will only be sold with a passport. Violators face fines up to 2 million rubles.
>State fees for motorists will increase by up to 300%, and driver's licenses will cost twice as much.
>Russians with mental disorders, autism, and eye diseases will be prohibited from driving.
>Drivers will be fined up to 100,000 rubles for unsafe transportation of children: only car seats are allowed, while straps, adapters, and frameless seats are banned.
>Russians will lose their driver's licenses for refusing to yield to vehicles of law enforcement and officials with flashing lights.
>Drivers refusing medical testing for alcohol and drugs will be fined 45,000 rubles or lose their licenses for up to 2 years.
>Russians will start losing their dacha plots for garbage, weeds, and neglect.
>Dacha owners will no longer be allowed to run businesses on their plots. Cafes, hostels, warehouses, workshops, car services, shops, and other facilities are prohibited.
>Russians will now be treated by mid-level medical staff without higher education. Feldshers and midwives will be able to replace therapists, pediatricians, and gynecologists.
>Children from age 6 will begin to be checked for their ability to have children.
>Pharmacists will be fined 100,000–200,000 rubles if they do not offer cheaper drug alternatives.
>Employers are prohibited from cutting bonuses by more than 20% of the salary.

>Vacation pay will be calculated differently. Now, the average daily wage must be multiplied by the average number of working days in a month. Quarterly and annual bonuses will also be taken into account. Payments will increase for most Russians.
>Russians with frozen accounts will have their mobile service blocked.
>Fines up to 50,000 rubles will be imposed for transferring SIM cards to third parties.
>Russians will be able to block spam calls and allow calls only from certain companies.
> The state messenger MAX and RuStore are mandatory for pre-installation on all new smartphones, including iPhones.
> English language classes in grades 5–7 have been reduced to 2 hours per week.
>Schoolchildren will be forced to learn songs by Shaman, Gazmanov, and Maydanov in music lessons.
>Study of human rights and freedoms has been reduced in favor of a course on sacred Russia and traditional values. Social studies have been completely removed from the curriculum for grades 6–7, and reduced from 136 to 68 hours in grades 8–9.
>Migrants in Moscow and the Moscow region will be required to register in a special mobile app that will track their geolocation.

How much does someone's life really change if they are forced to use a proper car seat (this is law everywhere btw) and cut their grass (also law everywhere)? The only things mentioned which would have a real impact are how vacation pay is calculated and people aren't going to complain if their pay goes up.

Russia is now importing fuel from Belarus because of fuel rationing. Russia is importing food from elsewhere because for the first time in decades they don't have enough to feed the population. Price of meat et al has gone up, government has said to eat more chicken instead. Nothing super major but we're at the stage where Russia's insane economic protection policies are no longer holding the flood of shit that is the Russian economy back any more. That's why they want 'total victory'. The funniest thing is Trump has essentially convinced Russia that the entire situation is fucked for Ukraine and Russia has become even more hardcore in their demands. Doesn't help that the USA is now blaming Europe (bar UK and France) for trying to stop peace and demanding USA foots the bill. But this is very much a case of Ukraine assumes they're getting no help, so do stuff themselves. After the US banned them from using weapons to hit Russia, they had to produce their own stuff to do it.

Afaik Flamingo's are a Bong kitbash? I am not sure.

So my takeaway from this as follows, with some speculation about subtext.
1. The economy is about to start breaking down and they're desperately clawing at anything to prevent another Soviet style collapse.
1a. They have to do everything they can to keep people from just walking off jobs.
2. They're desperate for any form of revenue.
2a. If you can't pay the fine you go to prison.
2b. Prisoners go straight to the front.
3. They're desperate to strangle not only any information getting in that might upset the serfs, they're trying to stop OSINT and free BDA from getting out.
3a. They're planning on cutting the country off from the net a la the great firewall.
4. They're going full hermit kingdom and brainwashing of the youth.
5. They're desperately trying to figure out how to unfuck the demographic crisis.
5a. Expect to see 13-14 year olds having kids with state approval.
6. They're desperately trying to prevent the compartmentalization and decentralization of any economic output in a form they can't tax.
6a. Once a barter economy gets going agai. they know they can't stop it.
7. They're fucked, they know they're fucked, and they're clawing at anything that will keep monke on the golden toilet a little longer.

My main takeaway from the war is that slow-rolling support for Ukraine has somehow resulted in a worst-case scenario for literally everyone, Russia included. Imagine if the 2023 counteroffensive had had enough materiel to work decisively (or if Prigo's coup worked idfk), you could have seen a quick discrediting and removal of Putin a la Argentine's junta after the Falklands War. Now Ukraine is having to (very, very slowly) strangle the whole country to death economically and I don't know what the long term implications of that are going to be.

I don't think the pipeline is going to make it to 2029. Ukraine hasn't really targeted export capacity yet, partially because not breaking contracts when it negatively affects the people helping is how you retain credidbility after the war, partially because I'm certain both the Biden and Trump administrations are leaning on them not to do anything that would disrupt the oil market. Refineries are one thing, that hampers military logistics. Crude exports are another entirely.

However, as Druzbha only serves Slovakia and Hungary. Orban is an outright russian puppet. Fico is waffling at best and has made several moves that hampered Ukranian war efforts. Ukraine doesn't care about them, their opinion, or retaining good relations after the war.

Additionally threats of witholding aid only really work when you're not playing stupid fuck-fuck games with it. Donny boy flops around like a fish out of water and his opinion changes based on who talked to him last. He's also got a hardon for two things, a peace prize, and the idea of being a big strong rich powerful man nobody can make fun of or touch. The latter is what makes him admire men like Putin and Kim Jong Un (and a healthy amount of debt both business and personal to russian banks IE the mafia). The former is why he keeps getting so mad Ukraine, which he sees as a smaller, weaker country which could surely never beat mighty russia so why are they still fighting, won't just accede to russian demands. The problem with this is at a certain point Ukraine can just throw up its hands and go "fuck it, you're unwilling to actually help us" and start destroying shipping terminals. I have a feeling with the Flamingos coming into service they'll wait patiently for another few months and if US support keeps appearing to waver they'll start lighting them up and sinking tankers.

The problem with that is there's nobody to take charge after Putin. You have a twenty way mafia turf war in the country with the (on paper) largest nuclear arsenal on the planet. That's a great way for things to end up on the black market that really shouldn't. That was a big part of the reasoning behind US efforts during the 90s to stabilize russia and secure warheads. The Biden admin hoped that by just ramping up the pressure slowly russia would come to its senses and stop (and they, like so many other boomers, continue to confuse russia and the USSR in capability). Unfortunately russia isn't run by rational actors.

The unit “Prymary” carried out another operation in occupied Crimea. Using drones, they struck the Russian military airbase in Hvardiiske near Simferopol, destroying two Mi-8 helicopters.
Additionally, a Russian tugboat, likely BUK-2190, was hit in Sevastopol Bay during an air attack.

This time such high-value targets were hit:
● Utyos-T coastal radar system;
● RT-70 radio telescope;
● GLONASS complex (in protective dome);
● MR-10M1 “Cape” coastal radar station;
● 96L6-AP radar, part of the S-400 air defense system.

It's not about forcing someone to cut the grass, it's about fuckin' over people with fines and then taking away their property. None of those plots of land were every tied to any sort of rules about mowing the lawn and shit. And now the state retroactively imposes new rules just to had an additional avenue to fine people for something. That's literally the main reason. "People are the new oil" was a point made by RU government around 2016-2019, this is just yet another block in the structure. And if people can't pay the fines, the state will take away the land and give it to some housing developer kek. Yes, that's how things work in russia.
>>
>>64200343
I extrapolate it from all the other nonsensical bullshit, like indoctrination for school children, massive fines for trying to buy an ignition source without a russian passport, clamping down on any non state controlled economic activity, and things to make it even harder for people to drive.

That's not the point. Nobody’s arguing about the Trans-Caspian specifically, the reality is Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan already move resources through existing routes like CPC to Novorossiysk and swaps across the Caspian into Baku. From there it’s pipelines into Turkey and Europe. EU needs to quit pretending everyone’s blind to what’s going on. Someone with actual influence should be shoving their faces into their own shit. >And if people can't pay the fines, the state will take away the land and give it to some housing developer kek. Yes, that's how things work in russia.
That is how things works everywhere else as well. If you don't pay your water billit gets added to your taxes and eventually they seize your house. I am not disagreeing with you that their ruling mafia is happy to exploit their serfs. I am asking for unique evidence which isn't found everywhere else as well. If they just cloned our municipal structures, it would have the same impact as you described. So how can we say its an act of oppression when it can be just as easily explained by vermin control policies - which is the exact argument used everywhere else.

Post your source. I want to read this in context. Afaik there haven't been any Russians prosecuted for arson due to Ukrainian spies recruiting them. >I agree this is really strange.
It really isn't. It's plain and simple paranoia from 3+ years of smoking accidents.

>Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's.
Idiot take. Crackdowns on non-state economic activities have nothing to do with basic tax enforcement. Increasing reliance on nationalization to afford the war effort is a MASSIVE indicator of economic collapse.

You're coping about blatantly exploitative "laws" designed to turn fines into another revenue stream first and foremost.

It's not how it works everywhere. Here for example they will take it from your earnings. We're not talking about paying debts, we're talking about full confiscation of property. Most countries would only confiscate what's needed to pay the debts. This is in line with other Russian problems though, where the mafia could steal businesses and more.

There's also a whole load of ways to be positive about your country without being retarded about it. Teaching that your country is "sacred" and "traditional values" is literal turdie levels of retardation. If this isn't obvious to you, your education has failed you. Yeah, those measures indeed block international VoIP-to-cellphone scam calls, but also internal messenger-to-messenger ones(calling people on telegram or whatsapp is no longer possible).
Kinda like treating headache with guillotine.
>>
>>64200497
>Domestic revenue doesn't matter you ignorant faggot
It does when your aim is to get state money without going into inflation spiral. Only reason why it does not matter for USA is because they have been able to export their inflantion to other countries, but Russia does not have that benefit.
>The big summit with China gives them everything they need for currency stabilization
Lol. You are basically saying that Putin is desperate enough to sell Siberia to China to get one more year.

>Putin wants tax revenue to pay for the war.
it's not about tax revenue. When RU gov wanted tax revenue for revenue sake (late 90s, early 2000s), it actually decreased the number of taxes, lowered the rates and simplified things, basically making it more profitable to pay a small tax and avoid issues, instead of trying to dodge them, causing a multiyear improvement in tax collection and improved revenues. After 2014 the focus shifted to two things:
- squeezing out more money for "friends of the regime", e.g. the famous "platon system";
- removing any chance for actors not affiliated with the regime to generate any sort of substantial revenues, because any independent wealth generation is a potential source of financing for "opposition";

Government propaganda is obviously not banned, so they just open more space for their own bullshit
>Russians with mental disorders, autism, and eye diseases will be prohibited from driving.
Prime frontline material. Just gotta make their lives difficult first.
>Drivers will be fined up to 100,000 rubles for unsafe transportation of children: only car seats are allowed,
Someone in the government has a hand in car seat business.
>Russians will start losing their dacha plots for garbage, weeds, and neglect.
Someone in the government wants free dacha plots.
>Dacha owners will no longer be allowed to run businesses on their plots. Cafes, hostels, warehouses, workshops, car services, shops, and other facilities are prohibited.
Selective application as usual, someone in the government runs a dacha business and others are competition
>Russians will now be treated by mid-level medical staff without higher education. Feldshers and midwives will be able to replace therapists, pediatricians, and gynecologists.
Mid-level medical staff needed in the frontlines, so the peasants will have to get subquality treatment.
>Children from age 6 will begin to be checked for their ability to have children.
Yeah, you know why this one is. One of the biggest russian businesses is selling shit that this produces.

Yeah, but why instagram specifically? Most Russians don’t even use it because it’s largely an English-speaking platform.

>Yeah, you know why this one is. One of the biggest russian businesses is selling shit that this produces.

I already figured it was to advance the interests of pedophiles, that didn’t really need explaining, but most CP producers presumably aren’t all that interested in 6 year old girls’ fertility (otherwise they wouldn’t be abusing them in a manner that dramatically decreased their likelihood of having children). Unless they’re abusing them under the guise of gynecology exams that… oh God I think I just figured it out.

>My main takeaway from the war is that slow-rolling support for Ukraine has somehow resulted in a worst-case scenario for literally everyone, Russia included.

I’ve said and I’ll say it again, the United States has abjectly failed in Ukraine *VERY SPECIFICALLY* in regards to preventing nuclear proliferation and escalation.

For starters, by allowing Russia to invade in the first place, we effectively void the Budapest Memorandum and nuclear disarmament on the whole can be completely discredited.

Second, permitting Russia invade has shown every tinpot dictator that nuclear weapons are basically a get-out-of-jail free card and that they can get away with basically any act of aggression so long as they possess them.

Third, by making the war a tortuously protracted defeat for Russia, we have in fact increased the likelihood that they will resort to using nuclear weapons out of sheer desperation. Either in a Hail Mary all-out attack on NATO or using them against a rebel army marching on Moscow to depose Putin (I don’t think they use them against Ukraine except as part of a wider attack on the West but that’s beside the point).

Really, the best option would have been to order intervention on February 25, 2022 with strict limitations placed on ROE (i.e. "no strikes on Russia’s internationally recognized territory under any circumstances"). Doing this would have ensured a swift Russian defeat, but not in a manner that would have left them so economically and militarily crippled that that they would be inclined to resort to using nuclear weapons out of desperation or fatalistic resolve to take their enemies down with them.
