The Perfidious Norgé are at it again.... Not that 5 ships could match the mighty Russian navy.

Wonder if they'll get Merlin for their ASW helicopter tender as well

the anglo-saxon strikes again!

They already have Merlins in operation as SAR helicopters, it would make sense.

You’re right. It wouldn’t even take 5

At this point I think that the best way to destroy the Russian Navy is to simply leave the the Russians to their own devices.

It did a funny, ok?
>>
>>64199879
so they had to choose from
1)type 26
2)connie
3)fdi

and they choose literally the worst one? and more so one that has 100km less range on the radar?
good lord did starmer promised them 72 virgins?
>>
>>64199879
These better come equip with BoJos.
>>
>>64201855
>they choose literally the worst one

The RNoN wanted ASW frigate and the Type 26 is a dedicated ASW frigate where as the FDI is a general-purpose frigate but slightly cheaper

They choose the right one, now deal with it
>>
>>64200751
Since he's a brigadier, they'd get court-martialed for assaulting a superior officer.
>>
>>64201855
The constellation is a monumental clusterfuck, and if Norway wanted customized FREMMs they probably would have gone straight to the source instead of dealing with the american shitshow, the FDI is merely "good" at asw, instead of world class, and asw is RNoNs primary mission, it was kind of a no brainer to go with the Type 26.
>>
>>64199879
The Type 26 is being exported in a high quantity. Australia 9, Canada 15, Norway 5, that's 29 foreign ships of the class.
>>
>>64201855
The Constellation is easily the worst one, the design isn't even finalised and it's in development hell. Utter fuck up of development, again.
>>
>>64201855
>2)connie
Remember when bait was good?
>>
>>64202334
Australia is building 6, the PM cut an entire batch and has managed to piss of the industry. Implication is Government will select Hobart replacement at the end of 2026 so perhaps Hunter Class AAW variant but i think that's stupid and they should've ordered more Hunter Class batches not less
>>
>>64202404
The massively expensive project to create Australian naval building expertise is getting downsized? Why not scrap the idea and just buy foreign constructed ships at that point?
>>
>>64202448
Being dependent on foreign ship yards is the problem. Successive Australian Governments love the idea of domestic manufacturing until it comes time to cough up the money and then they half ass or push the can sown the road which is what is happening. Much of the work for Hunters has already been done and prototype Blocks have already been built. Australia has thrown billions at its Shipyard in Osbrone which is honestly really impressive with what they want to achieve there and soon Henderson will get love but im not holding my breath, shouldve kept Williamstown open and full of work.
Despite non-stop dealys, cost overuns and media hounding, the Hunter Class will be really good for Australia. The Hobarts faced similar shit: dealys, cost increase, scrutiny. But in the end Australia doesnt remember that and only regrets not building more. That's what will happen to the Hunter Class
>>
>>64202404
>96 or even 128 VLS tubes
the AAW variant makes my penis become the big penis
>>
>>64202582
Each Up-Gunned variant come at the cost of a feature on the Hunter. Removing the Multi-Purpose Mission bay, removing the massive Radar, removing the Main Gun each of those serves a purpose and not everything comes down to VLS. If Australia wants more firepower quickly, it would be simpler just to buy/lease Arleigh Burkes from America. It would free up crew for them, guarentee more of their ships in the water and give expirence to a friendly nation in how to repair and maintain them. It's literallly what happening with their Virginia Class Submarines.
>>
>>64200440
Just pour some extra salt into the Baltic sea and wait a few years. The extra salinity will eat through the hulls in port since they're allergic to maintenance.
>>
>>64202448
Literally everyone told them this was a bad idea and that you can't just decide "we should build ships" and do it overnight, but Aussies are retarded when it comes to procurement.
>>
>>64202334
Australia is 6, but there is rumour that the a further 3 will be the Hobart AAW replacement.
>>
>>64202610
>Arleigh Burkes from America
lol Australia will never have Arleigh Burkes. Get over it.
There isn't talk about losing the main gun, but there is about ditching the towed array sonar and a few other things to free up weight.
>>
>>64202736
Calm down fag. Australia can get Burkes stop coping. There is talk about losing the main gun but that depends on the VLS count
>>
>>64203005
Thinking Aus will get ABs is the biggest cope. Give up, mate.
>>
>>64203123
Anon please. The US currently has one of the most business-oriented administrations in it's history. Whatever else you may say about Donny Boy, he never turns down other people's money. He would have no problems selling/renting out a handful of Burkes to AU if the offer was good enough. Hell, the AU gov could probably get a discount if they lay on the "none of the other options were good enough" flattery thick enough.
>>
>>64203123
Australia is already getting Virginia Class submarines. SSNs are the crown jewel of American weapons with Australian sailors already training to operate them but somehow Arleigh Burkes are where you draw the line. You must be the dumbest cunt on Earth to think that.
>>
>>64203152
>>64203170
It also has a hull numbers crisis and can't get ships fast enough. There's already so much speculation and doubt about leasing 3-5 Virginias, let alone several other major surface combatants.
>>
>>64201855
the only connie that i care about
>>64201926
really nigga?
can you point me where exactly the type 26 is an asw ship that has literally zero attack weapons against a sub?
the greek version of the fdi is literally more heavy fitted than type 26
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kimon-class_frigate
has better radar
better sonar both at bow and stern
but because its french it means that they probably didnt agree with norway to have an increased tech transfer
>>
>>64203922
>Better sonar
Lol.
Lmao.
the towed array is the same between the two, Sonar 2087 & CAPTAS4 are literally the same thing, and the type 26 has a significantly quieter hull.
>>
>>64203922
>better sonar
Lol
Lmao
>>
>>64203922
>attack weapons against a sub
What attack weapon would you suggest?
>>
>>64203922
Based retard
>>
>>64204003
the difference is the 2087 is only works at elf
the captas works on elf slf and ulf
>>64204005
lol

>>64204007

FUCKING TORPEDOES?

There you go
>>
>>64204014
>the difference is the 2087 is only works at elf the captas works on elf slf and ulf
Substantiate your claims.
>>
>>64204014
>elf slf and ulf
Dont know why you bring norwegian elfs into this, but ok
>>
Ships are entirely obsolete since USVs exist
>>
>>64203922
The only reason it doesn't have torps is because RN are yet to select a long-range delivery system for them
They're seeking a system to launch torps from the Mk41 VLS, like Lockheed's VLA ASROC
