How do you practice clearing malfunctions if you never have malfunctions? I've fired over 3,000 rounds through my daily carry but it's never failed. That's great, but it means I have exactly 0 practice clearing potential malfunctions if they happen in a real self defense situation. Is there a way to force them or otherwise practice if your gun doesn't actually fail?
>>64200737Get a some dummy rounds and use those to replicate common malfunctions, double feed, stove pipe etc. You don't need to practice much but its better than nothing.
>>64200737Easy.Randomly load snap-caps or dummies in your mag. If you shoot a revolver you can use empty brass instead. You can also buy ammo you know won't cycle correctly and mix those in randomly. i.e. wadcutters, big fat hollowpoints, gallery loads, ratshot, etc.

You will never be in a self defense situation and you will never, ever have a jam in the self defense situation that never happened
use shitty cheap ammo
iktf. I have a p2000 and even the random weak feeling round of blazer doesn't make it malfunction. It would probably cycle the shittiest .380.To jammax buy a glock or a commander sized 1911 and a bunch of cheap ammo

>>64200737It’s because you don’t have a Glock, an easy fix would be to buy a Glock and get into a self defense situation where you aren’t able to get an absolutely perfect grip on the gun while standing still. Don’t trust me? Watch police shootings where the officer gets a malfunction of any sort and it’s always a Glock. No gun more reliably fails than a Glock when it’s being used in a life or death situation in current year. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FniQyjhLa60
>>64200737buy some snap caps or the free option is to use a plastic gun with a reddit grip
>>64200853I literally use the cheapest ammo I can get off ammoseek that still comes in brass cases. 0 malfunctions over 3k+ rounds>>64201944I don't use glocks because I like having a manual safety. I know, I know, manual safeties are for pussies. But I like having one. I have it engaged while I'm moving my gun out of and into the holster, then once it's in the holster I turn the safety off. It's just an extra layer of redundancy and I like having it.
>>64201944Reminder gaston glock consulted target shooters when designing his gun. Target shooters. So some guy shooting bullseye one handed signed off on the glock and all the cops of the world sufferedThis is also the source of the grip angle. It's great for locking the wrist while shooting one handed.>>64203177Don't forget the real advantageZoomers and blacks don't know how safeties work
>>64203177>I don't use glocks because I like having a manual safety.I’m the same so they just stay with empty chambers unless I’m shooting. I have other guns to carry.
