One of the two pistols in the pic is gonna be it, I think. Can't get both though. Which one would you pick and why?

>Rock Island Tac Ultra FS HC
Or
>Kimber Next Gen 1911

The Kimber is sexy AF, about the same size/weight as what I'm carrying now, have a holster ready to go. The Rock Island has 14 round mags, a magwell and a pic rail. Tough choice...
>>
Kimber is dogshit. Buy the RIA. It's fucking bad when the flips make a better 1911 than kimber.
>why is kimber dogshit tho
Major QC issues, nearly proprietary magazines, not super friendly with aftermarket, boomer brand name price gouging and markup. Buy literally anything besides Kimber and that includes Tisas.
>>
>>64204452
Kimber used to be fantastic but that was more than 20 years ago. Now? Avoid. It's the classic story where a company used to make a good product but grew too fast and their standards slipped.
>>
>>64204429
Are you gonna be using it for competition shooting? Idk about the Kimber but I've shot that particular Rock Island model and it worked fine. It's a decent but not exceptionally shooting gun, about what you'd expect for the price point
>>64204452
Shit, didn't know Kimber was that bad now.
>>
>>64204429
Be aware that a double stacked 45 requires big hands
>>
>>64204429
Both are shit. Buy a Tisas or Springfield instead.
>>
>>64204452
I just won't buy a Girsan or Tisas because fuck turks. Make Istanbul Constantinople again. Otherwise, so the story goes, Kimber's QC problems have been all but eliminated by moving their fabrication plant from NY to AL. Quite a few people are saying they're good again. The CEO that left Kimber went to Sig lol... And apparently, he's a kike! What are the chances he was only there to sabotage an American company? Hmmmmm...

For reference, when was your last Kimber purchase/review? I'm not exactly defending them, I just want accurate and up-to-date info, and I'm willing to spend about 1.2k on a goodish pistol.

>>64204479
It's gonna be a carry gun.

>>64204486
My hands are pretty big and fit a regular 1911 just fine. Am a little worried about the weight and grip though. That is a possible issue...

Thanks for the input, everyone.
>>
>>64204532
>Make Istanbul Constantinople again
>lose city fairsey squaresey
>bitch about it for the next 600 years
IDK why people get so up in arms about this. Wasn't even the good Roman Empire that lost.
>>
>>64204556
IONIA has always been white man's territory. Should deathmarch them all to old Armenia and kill all the survivors.
>>
>>64204532
>It's gonna be a carry gun.
Awful choice unless you're able to OC regularly. If roach shit is off the table, then look at the single stacks or 9mm 1911s in RIA and Springfield's catalog.
>>
>>64204573
>Byzantine empire
>white
pick one and only one
>>
>>64204575
Please explain a little more? I am willing to completely revise my choices and open to suggestions, but yeah I want a 1911/2011 styled pistol for carry. Did want a full sized gun though, not a compact. Would even say I could justify bumping my spending limit up a bit, to maybe 1,400 to 1,600. Maybe.
>>
>>64204588
Do you know what a Corinthian styled columns is? Ionians were the genetic material the Greeks descend from. They were white.
>>
>>64204588
They were white. Turkish nationalism is a plague upon the world.

Yep, it's as I expected. Swarthy.

A full-size 1911 is big enough as is, a double-stack one is fucking huge. And heavy.

Your first 1911 should be a full-sized 5" 45 ACP single stack. Those are the most reliable, have the most aftermarket support, and they're also slim enough to conceal. Learn on one of those before you start deviating from the original design with different barrel lengths, calibers and double stack mags. Get something like a Springfield Garrison that already has most of the upgrades you would want out of the box like improved sights, extended safety, flat mainspring housing, and beavertail. Other customizations like improved grips and and extended magazine release are easy enough to put on yourself.
>>
>>64204592
Double stack .45s are pretty thick and will be much more difficult to fit inside your waistband comfortably than a regular 1911, or a 9mm double stack. If I remember correctly RIA has a bunch of other better suited 1911s that you might like. Of course, this is a moot point if you're planning open carrying, in which case you can freely use whatever you like.

I mean, benji was pretty fucking wrong in this shitpost, but ok

>>64204671

Yeah that is a concern.

>>64204660
It is not my first 1911! I have a S&W M&P 2.0 that I love, but I'm replacing a 1911 that needs to be replaced. It's an heirloom, and I don't want to replace any of the parts on it because reasons. Retire it as-is.

>>64204664
Definitely want one in .45.

9mm double stacks AKA 2011s are needlessly thicc, because they're all based on the old Para Ordinance 45 double stacks aside from the newer Platypus and 2311s that are designed around actual 9mm Glock and P320 mags.

>>64204709
Yes.

Kimber, they’ve completely turned around

The reviews of the next gen 1911 are good

2011’s are actually roughly as thick as a 1911, para double stacks (like the RIA) are fucking wide. There’s grip modules as thin as single stacks at ~1.2 and there’s a few people who want them wider for more grip restate

If it wasn't for the fall of Constantinople to the moselman, the discovery of the Americas wouldn't have happened.
It's why European countries looked westward, over the oceans, to find an alternate route to the Orient.

Why not get the best of both worlds and buy a Hi-Power?
It's JMB new and improved 1911.
>>
>>64206301
The 1911 is better in every way that matters.
>better ergos
>better trigger
>better caliber
The only things the Lo-Power has going for it are the capacity and linkless barrel. I doubt JMB actually contributed much to the design before he passed away.
