A query for thee, /k/. You can only choose one.
>Can own a rifle or pistol of any action type (semi, manual, whatever). It however, must’ve in a rimfire caliber.
or
>Can own a firearm in any caliber. No limit, save for that it must be a manual action firearm.
Which do you choose? Which one do you think provides more utility in a innawoods, shtf type scenario?
>>
The second.
Manual action guns are fine, especially in the guerilla warfare that would be taking place in SHTF.

The latter, easily. Shooting fast is fun but it's not very important beyond that. Meanwhile rimfire ammo is limited in both reliability and performance..

That depends entirely where this takes place. If there are no large predators to worry about and 2 legged threats are minimal then there's a case to be made for the efficiency of rimfire for hunting small game. But, again, it really depends on the exact location whether that is feasible or not.

Actually, even then there's no benefit in it being rimfire unless you're also imposing an ammo restriction. It's not like game stands around and lets you take multiple shots at it like in a video game. Gun goes off everything fucking bolts. the answer is always #2.
