Ever had one? How bad was it?

It just feels like a gentle tap on my leg when something bounces back from the backstop.
>>
>>64206743
What caliber and range?

303, 3 metres away
Plate in my skull, hole in right lung and fucked knee

Dumbass came up to the cleaning table and somehow fumbled a round off being a showoff, skipped it off the table and broke apart before hitting me.

He spent longer in hospital than me, I didn't stop beating his ass until I passed out. He had to have facial reconstruction.
No regerts

You beat him with a hole in your lung?

Happened on 4/20, of all days. 2018, a Friday I took off work. I was wearing a thanksgibbing shirt with a turkey face on it. Went to the range with some friends. 10 mm glock, shooting at steel targets hanging on chains, which is how I learned that is a bad idea. 10 yards?
On the 10th round it felt like I was pelted by sand or gravel from a vehicle peeling out on gravel. I heard what sounded like sand hitting on the side of the truck parked behind me. Finished the mag, started looking around for what happened.
A couple small scratches on the truck, tiny scratch with minor bleeding on my left shoulder, couple other scratches, and in the middle of my thigh - gushing geyser of red blood shooting out through my pants about 1 inch, with the geyser rapidly turning on and off.
Freak out a little bit, a friends wife that was there have me a maxipad to put on it, and I was drive 45 minutes to the nearest hospital crushing a maxipad on my thigh.
Bleeding stopped by the time we reached the hospital, they declined to pull shrapnel out, then called cops because there was a firearm related injury, so I got questioned.
Still have minor scar on left shoulder and right thigh. About one year later the shard of copper jacked was poking at the skin of my thigh, so I snipped it open with finger nail clippers and had my wife rip it out with foreceps. Still have it in a plastic vial. Time and body chemistry turned the jacket black. ALso still have the turkey shirt with a hole in it.

Caught a .308 ricochet. Travdled about a hundred yards across the creek and glanced off a sand rock, smacked me in my eyepro. Knocked my head back, corner of the lenses gouged my cheek open, but i was okay.

Did it once with a .45 just plinking. I insistrd on the way out to their land tjat we atop and fet eyepro and then a .45 came back and hit me in the chest within the first 30 rounds. Knocked the wind out of me and bruised my chest but i was okay.

Oof.

thanks for the story. I was under the impression hanging chains was a good idea for target, but maybe not if its in quick succession? can you post a pic of the turkey shirt?

to me
>pew pewing at indoor range
>some how person in next lane over hits the fucking WALL and it bounces twice and rolls into my foot
that was weird
>not to me
>take me and my mommy shooting her new 9mm
>have a great time
>collecting brass during all clear
>hey honey what's this?
>a slug from her gun somehow ended up lodged into her fanny pack she was wearing
it was stuck in the zipper opening, didn't actually tear anything but was a bit strange.

Testing diy 3a helmet. Point blank soviet execution style with 380. Took a bullet to the ribs, but no penetration. Didn't realize the pain was from the bullet until a couple hours later.

Of course.

I had a hole in my lung after a motorcycle accident. This guy's full of shit, I passed out as soon as I tried to stand up and didn't wake up until a day later in the hospital.

Luckily only a pellet rifle with BBs. About 5-8 foot pounds of energy, steel BB, .177. Shot what I thought was a dead and fairly soft rotted cut down tree. It was not soft, just grey from sun exposure/weathering. Came right back and hit me in the pointer, middle, or ring finger on the first joint just above the knuckle. Hurt like someone smashed it with a small hammer and then went NUMB for about an hour. Did the same with pellets, same pellet rifle (lol), and stainless steel spoons. Shot at maybe 25yds. Pellet would impact spoon, mostly flatten, arc up, and zip down still spinning, but I doubt it'd do any real damage. The first taught me an important lesson, though, and that is steel BBs or steel shot will ricochet like a motherfucker. Don't screw with that shit on anything that isn't a soft or thin-skinned target.

Close distance steel is usually a bad idea IIRC FWIW. (can I use any more acronyms?)

Coat snagged the hammer on my FEG while I had it holstered with one round in the chamber, shot through the holster and into my pocket. It glanced off of my phone but I didn't get a scratch. Felt like a punch on my thigh and I was alone so first thought was that someone else was shooting at me.

>Remember, Max - ALWAYS take the shot!

You retards are all making a good case for gun control.

>1/1000 cases make a good argument for a massive increase in government tyranny
You're fundamentally unable to perceive statistics. It must be like magic to you.

if we had a thread sharing stories of guys sharing their car accident stories, would it be making the case for banning cars? back to plebbit lefty :)

Going down a live firing range, soft sandy ground but it had large flint stones in it. Guy next to me was firing on a target as I advanced and I heard one of his rounds make the most stereotypical 'pwoooom' as it whizzed back over my head. I heard the range safey behind me swearing as well.

As a teenager I was shooting cans on a stone wall with my .22 pellet gun, had pellet bounce back, hit the roof of the house, rattle down the the tiles, skip over the gutter and land by my feet. Sounded almost like a real bullet ricochet.
Never shot cans on that wall again.

Many years ago I scavenged a piece of 1/2 thick lexan from work & tested various pistol calibers on it. Most either penetrated partially and stuck in the plastic (22LR, some 9mm), or went clean through (10mm, .357, .44 mag) .45 ACP, however, bounced off leaving behind a perfectly round dent. It didn't strike me, but it the plywood in front of the shooting position hard enough to splinter it.

Adrenaline is a hell of a drug.
Plus he was still in shock when My first blows landed. I also think my friends helped out a bit.
I watched my own blood spurt 3 feet. I thought I was going to die and I sure as hell wasn't dieing alone

9mm to the shin last month at a fitness/2 gun match. Target was about the size of a creme brulee and maybe 12 yds away. It was the last set of the stage and I was able to finish my sandbag getups without issue so I know I didn't fracture the bone. It was basically fine but I put a hemostatic on it to stop the bleeding. I didn't have any issues really but last week I ran a half marathon and I could definitely feel the exact impact spot acutely so I think that I might have a bullet fragment in there.

Keep an ifak in your range bag and always wear eye pro frens.

Could be bone fragment too. I slipped and ate shit (once or twice, I forget) in a rocky hunting spot when it was wet and it fucking hurt. Smashed my elbow and shin but saved the rifle. I still feel a little bit of a weird piece of either tendon/connective tissue or my bone floating around in my elbow when I rest on it. Hasn't even been a year and I'm getting tired of it being like that; kinda uncomfortable when I put my elbow down on that spot.

A buddy and I were taking turns magdumping M856 tracers at steel plates at about 100 yards in the dark. When we got back to the house, he was bleeding pretty decent from the scalp. He was hit by a penetrator return that had just enough smoke to poke a hole in the skin and travel about an inch under his scalp but on top of his skull (it was magnetic, which is why we know it was a penetrator return and not jacket). Trying to push the core back towards the hole didn't accomplish anything, and he didn't want to go the hospital or let me cut it out with my skinning knife, so it stayed in his head for about 5 years before working its way to the surface and letting him pull it out with tweezers.

That's a good point. I guess it'd be better than a hunk of metal.
