Air cooling with changeable barrels is almost as good as water cooling, while being zero extra weight on the gun.

Simple; turns out unsuppressed machineguns do a better job of throwing off a mobile enemy's ability to figure out where the shots are coming from because from the perspective of a moving target, the sound will reach them well after the shots will, giving the target a false idea of where the shooter is.
