The answer is and always will be Etrich and their licensed builder of Albatros, Aviatik, DFW, Gotha, Harlan, Halberstadt, Jeannin, Kondor, RFG, Roland and Rumpler.

Ironically, its designer, Igo Etrich, did not want his creation to be used in was beyond spotting and training, but this type also served as a bomber and a very early fighter in some cases where the pilot would shoot at the enemy observation aircraft, usually with a revolver.

Igo Etrich designed all of his aircraft with the wing in picrel and it is based off of the wings of a dove (hence the name of this aircraft being Taube, the German for dove) and a lot of the aforementioned German and Austro-Hungarian companies use modified versions of Etrich's wing, usually for the sake of simplified construction, hence, more square. The exception is Fokker (of which Anthony Fokker developed a similar aircraft, the Spin, or Spider, having thought that his finished aircraft looked like it was donning a giant spider's web), Junkers (which was the Blohn und Voss of WWI in that they used corrugated metal construction) and Zeppelin (which focused on larger bombers only).

Since I mentioned the Fokker Spin, it too is a runner up for this title of the most kino aircraft, but the Spin is not nearly as influential overall, yet it is very important in Aviation history.

It was a contemporary aircraft to the Taube and it too used cues from birds in its design, though as I said before it was named Spin, the Dutch for spider, due to its extensive amount of rigging.

For a pre-WWI aircraft, it is something of a success story in that, Anthony Fokker only intended to produce one for himself, so he could have a stable platform on which he could teach himself to fly on, but after flying on 1 September 1911 (picrel) the German Army had taken notice and offered 300000 Marks and ten Daimler trucks so Fokker could organize the production of ten aircraft for what would be the first German military aircraft training program.

In all, twenty five Spins were built, the last one being completed by the company in 1936, being dedicated to Anthony and his flight which had started the company, some 25 years earlier. Unfortunately, Anthony was chronically ill then and he died in New York on 23 December 1939. He was 49.

By the way, not too many people know this, but Fokker is technically Indonesian by birth and Dutch by heritage.

Oh, since I seemingly have avoided your question, I am partial to Dassault, but really Dassault and MiG are closer than you might think. They (Marcel Bloch, later Dassault, Artyom Mikoyan and Mikhail Guevich) were in the same class at the Breguet School for aeronautical engineering and there are some common traits between the MB 150 and Mig-1.

Also neither LM or NG returned has gotten back to me for internship applications so I am not going to pass judgement for now, other than I like what they design.

It is hard to name aircraft that are more soulful, by design, often, it was one guy who taught himself how to design or fly an aircraft who then drew up the plans for the fighters and observation aircraft to be used in combat.

Lloyd aircraft were developments of DFW aircraft, a license builder of the Taube. DFW and Lloyd types share commonalities in the wing, which is a development of the Taube wing with a shorter chord and swept leading edge.

Lloyd was one of the better Austro-Hungarian aircraft manufacturers known for having stable aircraft. Before you ask about the worst, it was Lohner and their rather unfortunate Type AA fighter project.

They truly were, the developments of those periods is something to behold. For example, in the span of a year, the US went from the F-86 to having the first F-101s (or rather, the XF-88). WWI aircraft development was even more rapid than that. Unfortunately, not as many people seem to care compared to WWII and later types.

Grumman/Northrop Grumman. Unlike every other designer, they've never put a bad plane into service since the start of WWII, with every one of them being excellent or at worst mediocre. Their contributions to and expertise in carrier-based aviation also cannot be matched by any other manufacturer.
LM is good but it's not like they haven't had their own failures, and the F-104 bribery scandal and other incidents weigh heavily on them.
Sukhoi hasn't made anything other than Flanker upgrades since the fall of the USSR and they are surprisingly lacking in pedigree because of the way the Soviets distributed development work among design bureaus rather than letting them go nuts. Same goes for Mikoyan.
