The patrol police has body armour and either an mp5/mp7 in the car. Bereitschaftspolizei and SEK tend towards a G36 or HK416 and the Blaser R93 Tactical as a sniper rifle - rarely the mp5/mp7 unless you are unlucky and underfunded.The newer units even got the HK G28 instead of the Blaser R93 Tactical. So no even the germans are actively trying to get rid of the mp5.

Here in Finland police started to replace them with CZ scorpion Evos. Reasoning was that they are lighter and easier to fit with optical sights and lights.
