Where is this little cardboard cylinder? I can't find a video of this being thrown and blown up. Is it too offensive for youtube?

>cardboard.
Nigger, that casing is made out of asbestos, not cardboard.
If you want vids of these fuckers in action, there the heebsraeli navy or coast guard posted some long videos of them using these things as mini depth charges against muzzie frogmen a year or two ago.
>>
Idk what you're asking. The cardboard is just what the grenades come in.

>it's black
>and explodes

It make sense now but how was I suppose to know when only the articles of its proposed replacement has passing mention of this fact?

I was under the impression that the grenade body is made from cardboard rolls.

>For decades, the U.S. Army has used different grenades to fulfill offensive and defensive requirements. On the offensive side, things have been lagging for a while. The Mark 3 grenade was retired in 1975 after it was realized that the body of the grenade contained between 17 to 50 percent chrysotile asbestos, a toxic cancer-causing mineral that left debris on domestic training grounds. Its absence left the baseball-shaped M67 defensive fragmentation grenade as the U.S. Army's sole lethal hand grenade.
>it's just "card-board" bro, trust me

Are you surprised I missed out on secondary sources?

Why the fuck did everything have asbestos? Like half the shit i read is things that had no fucking reason to have asbestos. I think last month some dude got a couple million because he got cancer from asbestos shotgun shells.

>Why the fuck did everything have asbestos?
It was very cheap.
It is extremely resistant to high temperatures (still used in some applications for that reason).
It was widely used as a filter material.
It's generally inert and non-reactive.
The general public perception was that asbestos was safe and "friendly" to humanity because it saved a bunch of lives when it was used as fire proofing material.

It stopped being used in the 80's pretty much immediately after they were introduced.

It's a frag grenade without the fragmentation. The idea being infantry could do bounding movements offensively while lobbing these things. Turns out that was a really bad idea.

The end

You want cool grenades look up v40 minifrags or thermobaric grenades.

>v40 minifrags
Those things suck ass. Especially against duggouts.
There's a reason why modern day grenades are growing in size and often contain upwards of a pound of HE, and why exotic high velocity explosives are used instead of plain old TNT.

They did what they were good at. Popping people inside a room without going through the walls.

You'd be surprised how well acquainted the FARC are with them.
