Thoughts about HAS? After operation spiderweb, shouldn't they be mandatory in every airbase around the world?
Implessive
>>64224212this is the stupidest HAS design possible, if the door gets blocked by rubble or damaged in any way the plane is stuck
>>64224543Literally the same problem with all HAS
>>64224212No idea which Flanker derivative is this, but god they all look sexy.
>>64224551no, the normal sideways opening design is easier to clear in an emergency, it's the reason why everyone with actual combat experience is doing it like that
>>64224557In the case of a power failure such as after a nuclear attack that door can still be opened under gravity.
>>64224571In the case of a power failure you can always pull open heavy "barn style" doors on rails with a team of men or a truck with a winch, or some kind of hand crank mechanism.
>>64224576Nah. Look at that thing. It's a 4 foot thick armour steel hangar door. It weighs many tons and good fucking luck if the rails have buckled or the rollers stuck on your barn door. With that you just release the lock and it falls down. No team of men required.
>>64224553It's a J-16. The gray paint and lack of pedo tube on the nose and antenna array behind the cockpit kind of gives it away. Could've been an Su-35 since they also do that but it looks like a chink on the runway. Also a lot of pictures I've seen of the J-16 have this little gray cover on the IRST. Not sure if it's just a protector, but they don't seem to ever take it off, even when flying. At l east in the pictures I've seen.
