It was invented hundreds of years ago and it's called artillery.

>Fiberoptic close to the ground to ambush this thing
microwave and lasers fry your ass
>AI drone lying in ambush
actually not a bad idea, NG already made a water based one that can go on standby for months using the temperature gradient on the ocean floor for power. Suppose same could be done on the ground and would require minesweeping to counter.
>Rocket booster for terminal phase to kill this thing
aerodynamics do not permit it, lobotomized sprint terminal phase cruise missile, retarded.
>Plumet to the ground letting graviry carry you to the immobile target
complicated JDAM, retarded.
>Cheap quadcopter decoy drones to expend overwhelm lasers/Kinetic kills while real warhead drones let gravity do its course
you're gonna need a lot to overwhem layered SHORAD (microwave, laser and AHEAD kinetic, grunts with shotties)
>Drones that home in on jammers
lobotomized HARM missile, retarded.
>small wheeled drones with fiberoptic to work as relays for ground ambushes bypass the minimum height of this thing
you're gonna get spotted by ISR drones

IFV's, APC's and even 4x4's are already entering service with autocanons, AESA radars and optical trackers specifically to shoot down drones.

Turns out good old 25mm and 30mm will do just fine against FPV's

>Chaff drones to fuck up with radar

Anything else?

>25mm
can you even fit a decent airburst package into a 25mm shell? I figured that was why everyone was hot for 35mm these days
>>
>>64226963
I think the smallest both the US and Germans at NG and Rheinmetall could make it was in a 30mm shell
>>
>>64226932
Yes ok but what if you are an absolutely impoverished african militia tier third world army desperately trying to delude yourself and others into believing that you can a defeat 21st century unlimited funding western military with temu quadcopters.

>>
>>64226920
why do you have to use a drone to counter the anti-drone countermeasure? why wouldnt you just use some other asset that is totally unaffected by it?
>>
>>64226985
I mean you can get it to work, but it's just so much more effective in a slightly bigger package.

Combined arms is boring.
I enjoy watching drone footage.
I hope it just becomes a question of who can bring more drones too bear and how smart they position them.
The only probpem is airpowrr which could be droned by using stealthy jet drojes carrying Autononouse drones(missiles) using IR instead of radar

>>
>>64227004
Enjoy it while it lasts in Ukraine. Stealth drones are not invisible and will be spotted with IRST just as a stealth plane can be spotted well before they get close enough for Fox-2 range.
>>
>>64227000
Effective for what? You're shooting down flimsy drones made mostly out of plastic with exposed optics and communication equipment, not armored close support aircraft or attack helicopters. Weapon systems in larger caliber weight more, limit the ammunition capacity and cost more.
>>
>>64227014
You wanna have double duty for when they send both gas powered Shahsneeds and flimsy temu drones at the same time, imo. Also consider that more internal surface area = more fragmentation to saturate swarms.
>>
>>64227012
Smaler stealth drones made to just carry missile and loiters not to high to keeo hidden from radar.
Using irst to find the target shoot their IR missiles(like meteor) and get out of there should finally kill manned large fighter jets for good.
>>64227014
>>64227023
Sadly for now helicopters and gepards and so on work to shoot down shaeds.
Idk how to save them exceot switching out the propeler with a jet engine
>>
>>64227023
No, you don't, Shaheds aren't magically resistant to 25mm or 30mm fire, they're being shot down with 50cal's on pickup trucks.

Moreover its stupidity to pursue 'double duty' roles, IFV's attacking enemy positions aren't worried about shooing down shaheeds targeting Kiev. Their guns are already double-duty. They're there to provide short range air defense in the immediate area.

Look at the latest developments, you'll see that 25mm and 30mm guns are prefered. See the US marine JLTV's with 30mm, the European ones with 25mm's, the new skyranger boxers with 30mm guns, etc.

Please, my third world friend, learn some grammar. Have you considered that modern fighter AESA radars have look down capabilities that can easily distinguish from ground clutter and a flying object? Have you considered that a single AWACS can do the same for a 250 mile radius? Have you considered the kinematic performance of a short range IR missile fired from a low, slow launch platform against a fast and high flying target? Missile falls to the earth beyond anything 5 miles away. The meteor is also a BVRAAM radar missile, retard.
>>
>>64227039
Then we are at somewhat of an agreement. I'm NTA who mentioned 35mm and advocated for 30mm.

>The only probpem is airpowrr which could be droned by using stealthy jet drojes carrying Autononouse drones(missiles) using IR instead of radar

I like how drones are simultaneously super cheap and you can buy them off temp but also they use highly sophisticated tech that's only present in expensive military hardware
>>
>>64227125
That's the average third worlder for you.
>>
>>64226920
are anti-drones really fucking up your invasion? I refuse to enable retards on either side. If you are losing to anti-drone warfare that's your problem. You're stuck in the slings-and-sharpened-stick era and you're losing to bows where they launch the sharpened-stick AT you.

Literally nobody uses 25 mm with prog rounds. Everybody who isn't the French ("the French copy no one..."), or the Swedish (who can't afford to develop a completely new gun, so they keep using the ol' 40), uses a 30 mm for prog rounds. Miniaturization isn't free, and it gets proportionally more expensive and complex the smaller the components (so a 25 mm prog fuze is proportionally more expensive, and has higher dud rates, than the 30 mm equivalent). Plus, thanks to the ol' square-cube law, a 30 mm round has ~33% more volume (for the fun spicy stuff), despite nominally being only 20% larger than a 25 mm one.

Basically what China is doing.

Look just because some savages had some Maxim guns didn't mean they could fight modern western armies, same goes for drones. You can't outcompete western armies with Temu purchases and the moment China makes their Temu drone parts a military target is when drone production crashes.

Just launch a missile or artillery or a GBU at this thing. This is designed to counter drones, so you don’t use a drone to kill it. Combined arms dilemma. Conditions set, conditions met. The true skill in war is the coordinated integration of different weapons to achieve effects.
>>
>>64227125
Drones are super cheap..... GOOD drones are not. At the end of the day all dronefags are doing is just making really cheap shitty missiles that can't do anything else but blow up.
>>
>>64230867
Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of having drones
>>
>>64234128
the whole purpose of any weapon is not to replace every other single weapon on the battlefield. you don't use a hammer as a drill unless you're retarded or coping. this thing counters drones, so once you find out it's there, you shell it with artillery.
