>>64227282Yeah
>>64227282Three different FALs of which I own one
>>64227282Yes, and a G3, an M-14, and a full-auto BAR. BAR was my favorite.
>>64227338>>64227344>>64227478If it isn’t select-fire it’s not a FAL.You own a FSL.
an FAL
>>64227490you are so wrong it's actually funny. the only "FSL" rifles are argentine imports, also C1/L1 rifles were semiauto only.
>>64227490Most countries removed their rifles ability to fire in full auto. Tbqhp full auto feuatures of a battle rifle were mega retarded. None of them from the FAL to the STGw. 57 did it make them better and by removing it only made them better.>>64227282Yes, an Israeli pattern one
>>64227490I have an L1A1 which came out of the factory as a semi auto
>>64227512What does the acronym FAL stand for, anon?
>>64227282I like good guns, so no
>>64227607Fusil de Asalto LivianoLight Assault Rifle
>>64227607Frot and Lick
>>64227659Liar.I know what you are.
>>64227282No. Just an M1A and a .308 AR
>>64227607Finds All Ligma
>>64227607Fags All burn in helL
>>64227519Not most. Latin American ones and Belgian ones kept the full auto. Same thing with the Austrian and Dutch ones I think.
>>64227607Fucking Ass Licker
>>64227490Good thing mine has a fun switch then.
>>64227282First gun I ever shot
>>64227282Yeah and it fucking sucked, just get a 20 in AR
>>64228466trvth nvke
Yes. It was fine.
>>64227282no :(
own a full giggle FAL.
>>64227607Fucking Awesome Lads !
>>64228466I will agree the FAL isn't for those with babby tier tastes
>>64227607Falklands Anglo La eternidad
Yes, its a surprisingly soft shooting gun.
>>64229034And it has pretty much all the modern features people credit the AR for
The only people that like to shit on the FAL are G3 fags, a gun so homosexual that the UK decided to name a gay magazine after it.
>>64227282is there any more overrated rifle of the cold war?
>>64227282No, but this guy has.
>>64227500this
>>64227490Interesting assertionYou would be incorrect>regardless, near useless to fire in full giggle>>64229094There are 3 legitimate gripes>DSA QC has been a distaster for FAL-kind>most can't safely costume slav produced steel case range garbage, but real OGs fed with $50 battle packs instead>the bolt design and handguard contribute to poor accuracy
>>64229563Considering real NATO surp is brass cased I don't know what people expected. The accuracy is pretty mediocre but kind of average 50's combat rifle tier, 3 MOA or so
>>64229576Considering SVDs were around 3 MOA on a good day, it still can fit the role of rifleman for extra range if everyone else is rocking carbines that struggle at 500 meters. If its under 4-5 MOA it genuinely doesn't matter for infantry roles outside of marksmen/sniper roles, which obviously should be using .338 Lapua or something with better ballistics than M80 Ball.
>>64229094I see the FAL and G3 like a milled versus stamped AKM. The stamped guns obviously are better for mass production but the milled guns have that chunkiness and more handmade feel to them even if its a robot milling them on the DSA guns.
>>64229591FALs can do great things with handloads. That's my L1A1 at 150m last year, the rings are about two inches wide. 150gr Nosler B-tips for bullets
>>64229077Well, except for it being easy to unjam and not being sensitive to sand and dust. Or holding zero. Or a fire selector that doesn't make you unshoulder your rifle.
>>64229563DSA QC is bad?
>>64232663It has no problem holding zero at all, the sights being on separate bits of the gun isn't the most accurate solution but you will arrive at a repeatable zero. On metric guns the front sight is pretty much immovable, on inch guns there's a rather questionable set screw holding it in place but you can loctite that down if yours tends to come loose. Both have a rear sight with positive "clicks" and I haven't seen it run away, wobbles a bit but that's all.The fire selector is not much different from an AR, on metrics it's perhaps a bit harder to handle with slippery hands. The FA position is a bit weird, but the intention was probably pretty much never to use it. The sand part I will give you, though, it's a clockwork precision instrument like the K31 and both hate sand in all forms. You will feel every piece of grit that gets in the carrier rails. I don't feel like it's particularly hard to unjam though, in that respect it's quite AR-like I guess
>>64232780Any jam that would be easily fixed by a different type of charging handle or forward assist requires the gun to be field stripped. It's why the IDF designed a forward assist for it after the 1967 war.
>>64232839I mean sure but that's much like the ARIt even has the same annoying problem that if the jam happens so that the rat tail extends into the stock (like the AR carrier into the buffer tube) it's very, very hard to unjam
>>64227282Yeah.I mean, as long as the bong flavour of FAL counts.
>>64232683Its actually decent now, chances for a lemon are very low. Older ones for sale may have problems.
>>64232876You're replying to someone who is using Google/ChatGPT to argue why the FAL is "bad", don't expect a proper discussion here.
