I just want a small, reliable, nice looking .380, but NOOOO
>no fucking PPK
>no taurus spectrum
>inb4 “reliable” it looks cool
>no CCWing a MR556

What am I supposed to get?
Beretta Tomcat?
I work in Hollywood, there are 9 different homeless people who live around my office building and they attract trouble
don’t wanna become a talking point, worst comes to worst just wanna give someone FIBS until I can get behind the giant steel gates surrounding my office

Upending my entire life to move to America to look after my wife and not being able to buy myself a PPK is misery.
Tempted to buy a block of farmland in Nevada or Arizona just so I can have some of the guns I want, I am not fucking joking, this is bullshit
want cute mini gun

>no fucking PPK
you can buy a C&R PPK for cheaper than a new one, and it works just as good plus they're more collectable too

i honestly wouldn't waste money on a new one even if i could buy it

the ones from the 60s-70s are basically modern, or you can go full nazi and get a WW2 era one which is even more badass, but those tend to be more expensive than the new ones

what really sucks is if you want a new generation gun, but with the P365, PDP, VP9, etc. being added to the roster recently it's not a huge deal anymore
it was horrible a few years ago when they still had the micro-stamp requirement

though if you want a Glonk you better buy one now before Newscum signs the Glonk Ban, then your only option is overpriced Glocks until they become 50 years old

Turner's also just had these mothersuckers on sale for $250, amazing deal but they're sold out now

they're from the early 70s so they also count as C&R
it was also James Bond's gun in Dr. No before he was given the PPK, so it has that connection if you want to be a Hollywoodfag

it just needs to be 50+ years old to count as C&R and bypass the roster, and there's some awesome modern guns from the 60s-70s

there's also Makarov if you want to larp as a commie

but my favorite is the Mauser HSC in terms of PPK-esque guns

just look at it, it's like an art-deco PPK and they go for way cheaper than a PPK but just as good/reliable

the list of cool little guns is practically endless when you look at C&R guns

Fellow Calicuck here. If you're open to 9mm handguns, I'd suggest one of the Kahr pistols. They are small, reliable(as long as you don't buy one of the early models), and nice-looking with the chrome finish. If you have the money, the K9 in >picrel is smooth shooting and accurate imo.
>>
or larp as the guy who kick started WWI and get a Browning 1910, it put the Archduke to his Archdeath

plenty of examples from the 60s-70s that are clean and reliable

of course if you just want a small gun for self-defense just get a new P365, it's really small but controllable and holds 10 9mm rounds

but seriously

you have no excuse to not get a PPK if you really want one

imagine wasting $1000 on a new one when these are California Approved and way cheaper and better

just need them shipped to a FFL that does transfers, which is like another $100 on top but still overall cheaper than a stupid new one
>>
>>64233208
check the fine print of 99% of gunbroker sellers
>I AINT SHIPPIN THIS GUN TO CALIFORNIA, IF I FIND OUT SOMEONE FROM CALIFORNIA IS EVEN VIEWING THIS AUCTION ME AND DARYLL ARE GONNA TO DO BURNOUTS IN THEIR DRIVEWAY WITH OUR HOGS
>>
>>64233215
people who sell C&Rs typically have no problem shipping here
those disclaimers are usually on sellers who sell mostly modern guns

hell, the 2nd auction in that pic clearly says "CA OK"

there's also gun auctions within California not far from Hollywood, but im not looking for competition so fuck mentioning their names lmao

there's also plenty of online vendors who sell C&R guns and ship them to CA no problem

it's not hard to find at all
i literally just bought one today actually
>>
I know how you feel. My favorite guns are single action revolvers and Ruger is the only manufacturer that's on the MA roster.
>>
if you get a FFL03 and COE you dont even need to wait the 10 days, just take the gun home the same day you do the background check

though if you're just buying 1 or 2 guns it's not worth it

i literally stopped buying new guns ever since i started collecting C&Rs, only new guns I buy is if it's an amazing deal like the $450 P2000s, or something advanced like a P365 which is unmatched in terms of size/power/feel

>"OH NO! The Glock 19 Gen5 is too UNSAFE for our citizens!"
>"I know, let's approve the P320! It's so safe that it shoots it's owner to prevent it's owner from using it!"
>>
>>64233243

Interestingly enough, the reason the P320 got rostered was that SIG added an LCI and mag disconnect (needed for DOJ approval) but the Glocks don't, so only the older Gen 3s are okay because they're grandfathered in. I wonder, since the P320s keep firing on their own, will they do so if the mag is removed? If so, does that mean the P320 mag disconnect isn't really a mag disconnect, so it has to be dropped from the roster since it doesn't have one?

Better get on it, Bonta! You actually have work to do! Or will you just ban something else since going after actual criminals or legal violations is racist or something?
>>
>>64233260
Bonta should test the P320 by appendix carrying it. It's not like the P320 would hit anything if it went off in his pants.

You can own a gun in arizona without buying a farm. But yeah if you're moving in from a foreign country and you want to shoot guns then you need to pick a good state. AZ is pretty good. Phoenix is absolutely awful in the summer but winter time is nice. Flagstaff and Prescott have milder summers and cold winters and it's more expensive.
>>
I can't sneed correctly and thought the roster was gone.
Day = Ruined
Disappointment = Immeasurable
>>
>>64233238

The greatest irony is that single-action revolvers over a certain barrel length/OAL are roster-exempt in CA. Thanks to enterprising gunsmiths across the state line, basically every revolver over said barrel length/OAL is legal in CA thanks to the magic of single-action conversions; you contact one of said gunsmiths, pay a small fortune to have whatever of-size revolver you want converted to single action only, the gun is shipped to a CA FFL for transfer, you contact them later to have the original DA/SA sear parts shipped to you, you contact a local CA gunsmith to convert it back, voila. Downside, it takes a while to arrange (I've heard months) and takes a small fortune because they're definitely gonna milk you for every penny for what is effectively a custom job.

>OP will vote bloo no matter whoo
Commiefornia expats most certainly are a problem. We have the same issue here in PA and Virginia too with NYC expats fleeing their bureaucratic over priced and under performing society of their own creating too. That said OP and his autistic attraction to this board in particularly strikes me as an exception to that rule, in fact he's already established he lives there by circumstance and not by choice so no I don't think he'll voot to have less gun rights in Nevada or Utah or whatever.
If anything OP would be a net positive to any of those states.

Also don't pretend like Rhinocons don't exist in the Republican party either and that voting for the 'lesser evil' Coke/Pepsi actually fucking matters. Don't forget Phil Scott is a 'conservative' that brought sweeping gun control laws to a state that has very little gun violence (Vermont).
Getting caught up in theater drama tier party aligned tribalism is a real quick way to completely missing the point.

I was born and raised in Orange County, but I've seen this place get worse over the past few decades thanks to all the hyper-commie transplants moving here from the Bay Area. Nowadays there are simply too many people here, and most of those people are delusional. I'm either gonna move to Huntington Beach, which is the last real American city on the West Coast imo, or, as much as I will miss the weather and the scenery here, I'm gonna pack up and leave this state altogether. Where do you think a Californian dissident should move?
>inb4 >>64233760 calls me an anti-gun leftist
I voooted against all the propositions and politicians that took away our gun rights and decreased the standard of living. It didn't matter in the end, since there were simply too many welfare bums in LA and naive leftists everywhere else voting for those policies.
>>
Ruger lcp max is on roster, they just added the manual safety version too. Who cares if it looks pretty while it sits in an evidence locker after you use it.

Honestly I've only been on the Western half of America once for vacation in Nevada. Stayed in an over priced Vegas hotel and did a lotta hiking an stuff so I can't be a good judge on that beyond had fun with jagged rocks cacti and hookers. I dunno Florida is cool if your alright with having your shit blown out every year by hurricanes and New Hampshire and Virginia are strong 2A states.

The barrel transfer ban just passed the assembly today, goes to Newscum's desk within the month if not earlier. Better buy your complete AR uppers and Glock conversion barrels now.

Are you the same Anon that made like 6 PPK/James Bond threads in the last few weeks?

>PPK
If you get one manufactured prior to 1975 it is C&R and therefore roster exempt.
Pro tip, don't. I've owned a few and they are relatively chunky for a CC gun. Many better options available nowadays.
>Taurus Spectrum
>It looks cool.
Point of a CC gun isn't to show it off you mung. You are going to have to drag your dick through 5 miles of broken glass for the permit to carry, so don't waste it on a trash meme gun.
>CC MR556
Why on earth would you do that in the first place?

>>64232152
Also on roster and cheap, but kind of sub optimal. I think it's better as a carry gun because it is lighter than a PPK, but straight blowback does make it somewhat unpleasant to shoot.
>>64232360
If you really want to you can buy a C&R PPK and have it sent to a local dealer for transfer. It is entirely doable. I just wouldn't recommend carrying it because there are way better options available.
>>64233159
James Bond's gun before the PPK was a Beretta 418 in .25 ACP which is much smaller than an M1934.
>>64233164
CW9 is dirt cheap too. It was my carry gun for years, although I mostly carry a J frame nowadays.
>>64233183
Those actually got dropped tested.
>>64233239
C&R+CoE is worth it if you really get into guns, but is going to be way more trouble than it's worth for just one or two.
>>
I’ll get one for you. And sell it to you at 4X MSRP :)

>James Bond's gun before the PPK was a Beretta 418 in .25 ACP which is much smaller than an M1934.
in the book, yes
in the movie they use the M1934

in fact, they dont even use a PPK in Dr. No either, they use the PP but call it the PPK
>>
>>64240668
Oh yeah they frequently change from a PP to a PPK to a PPK/S throughout the movies, frequently breaking continuity. If you are particularly sharp eyed, post 1968 you can tell which scenes were filmed in the US (due to the PPK/S) and which ones were filmed overseas where that model doesn't exist.

HSC also makes an appearance, probably as a stand in though

I have an HSC super, its pretty cool but the decocker is pulling the trigger with the safety on. Not something I shoot anymore. Also they got rid of the big hunk of metal in front of the trigger guard, changing its silhouette from iconic to generic.
