Hey /k/, so I'm writing a book, and one of the characters is a women who's part of a small, privately funded operator team. Is there anything about women that changes how they interact with body armor, or how they use certain weapons or techniques?Not a joke, it's 4 am and I haven't slept in 30 hours. Anyway, I'm trying to keep it as realistic as possible, in regards to weapons and tech, so thank you anons.

They also tend to be about 40% weaker in upper body strength compared to men which translates into difference in how they hold weapons, how long they can hold it, how fast they reload and what kind of weight a woman can hold up (a decked out rifle that is okay to shoulder and aim for a man might be a bit heavy for a woman to handle with comfort).There are also other combat related things such as movement and climbing/jumping over obstacles and such that women tend to be slower, weaker at (women are 33% weaker in lower body strength). Another thing noted by david grossmans book "on killing" using info from Israel armed forces is that when a woman get injured in combat it will ruin squad cohesion. Men will go over the top just to save her at the cost of the mission and if she die it tend to cause a form of combat rage in the males that witness it. The arab combatants they faced also will absolutely refuse surrendering to a female soldier (they rather die in combat then surrender to a woman).There are two reports that go into detail of female strength, mixed gender squads vs all male squads performance and so on. A woman is gona throw for example hand grenades, satchel charges and other explosives shorther then heir male counterpart. She is gona be slower when crossing a street while wearing 30 pounds of gear versus a man. She is also gona be the furthest back if the unit she is part of has do a 10km forced march.You can however write this away by having the woman in your story be the top 0.01% of women. They will routinely remove their plates and replace them with cardboard.How they use certain weapons or techniques: If you're at the range and you get flagged by someone who has their rifle off safe and finger on the trigger, it's definitely a woman. Also if you're at the range for an extra 4 hours while a few people do their 5th re-shoot for their qualifications, they're women.Fun bonus info: They will cry to get out of trouble, and when it stops working they will escalate to up the chain of command until it works again.On the plus side some are competent, kind and good people, but they don't stay in the military long because it's a shit job.

They might not be directly fighting on the front lines, but there are enough working as medics, staff and civilian emergency workers to justify the design. The plate is curved to allow space for the breasts, has narrower shoulders and is supposedly lighter. That should give you a idea of the issues they have with male armour. Again, Ukraine has alot of women in uniform so you could probably find a way to ask one of them directly.
