Hey /k/, so I'm writing a book, and one of the characters is a women who's part of a small, privately funded operator team. Is there anything about women that changes how they interact with body armor, or how they use certain weapons or techniques? Not a joke, it's 4 am and I haven't slept in 30 hours. Anyway, I'm trying to keep it as realistic as possible, in regards to weapons and tech, so thank you anons.
Why would they spam the same bait-y thread twice in quick succession
>>64249064If I did, it was an accident. The captcha said I put it in wrong and I had to redo it. Its if's the same one, sorry.
>>64249056>Is there anything about women that changes how they interact with body armoryes, titsthe Ukes had to crowdfund specially-made female body armour breastplates>ba dum tss

When writing a book, the first thing you should ask is 'why' for your protag. If you cannot explain what the reason for the story is (i.e, why you're writing it) working it out. Write it like this, for example;>What if a man woke up one day and discovered he had no legs? That's incredibly simple, obviously. It also won't lead to a good book, so work on it.>what if a man who was rude to the disabled one day woke up and found he had no legs and learned that power of humility and empathyEtc.A book can be the most well-written, flowery purple prose thing ever, but if you have no real reason why it is being written, what the point is, or a protag with a real reason to be in such a situation then it becomes about a railroad D&D campaign where events happen because you're making it happen, rather than feeling natural. It also doesn't feel like the protag is trying to achieve something if you don't have a real reason why you're writing a book about these subjects.
>>64249056I miss /wfg/. Best of luck with your story, Anon.
>>64252258There’s a /wg/ on /lit/ if you don’t mind wading through the world’s largest crab bucket.
>>64252426It's awful with everyone just writing navelgazing tosh
>>64252452I know. I haven’t discussed it much here, because it’s science fantasy fiction and I’m about 50/50 on whether the janny would pull it down; but I write military Sci-Fa. Usually just to get shit on by the bucket crabs in /wg/. Pic related is literally a scene from one novel.Still trying to get a literary agent.
>>64249056There are a couple women I know who bitched endlessly about titsweat. It's a pretty common fix to shove a menstrual pad or a shop rag up under the plate below the breasts, both to catch moisture and relieve some of the pressure from teh plate carrier. I wouldn't be surprised if they're actively teaching it in boot now.
>>64249056Periods.Women have a very different hygiene routine than men for at least one week out of the month.
Look up "ASSESSMENT OF CHANGES IN MARINES' PERSPECTIVES DURING THE GCE ITF" and have ai summarize it. You'll find something helpful in there regarding mixed gender unit cohesion.
>>64249379>the starting incident should always happen for a clear reason otherwise the book is badI never knew Metamorphosis was slop...
>>64252426I went to check it out, but it just doesn't have the same /k/ flavored autism. What a golden couple of years we had, though. Thanks anyway, Anon.

>>64249056your book sounds retarded.there's not a single operator team in the world that has women in actual combat roles.
>>64252426The fact they don't call each other "fag" is all you need to know.
>>64249349RMA also makes the FSAPI specifically for women.
>>64257356>FSAPIkek no way
>>64254420>there's not a single operator team in the world that has women in actual combat roles. There is in Ukraine and they are good at itPic At age 28, Lt Yulia Mykytenko already has seven years of military experience, much of it in combat. Mykytenko survived the battle of Svitlodarsk in Donbas at Christmas in 2016, where nearly 3,000 explosions were recorded on the first day. She attributes the loss of her husband and father to the war. Last October, Mykytenko was awarded the Order of Courage by presidential decree. She now commands a frontline drone unit near Bakhmut. >>64258496Based on what I see from agent wishlists, the quickest answer is to make it gay.I write a sci-fa war story.I’m at 8 rejections, now.
>>64249056>so I'm writing a book, and one of the characters is a womenLolLmao even
>>64259076What else do those wishlists contain

>>64260537To be frank, that’s probably the ticket.Nobody wants wants straight White men telling tales of battlefield glory on distant worlds, it seems.
>>64258564>for some reason.
>>64249056If she's part of a privately operated organization rather than a military, she can buy a female-specific plate carrier of her choice and multicurve plates. Even some militaries issue female body armor, Ukraine as mentioned ITT and also the US has issued female IOTVs for over a decade and the MSV replacing it also has a variant for women.
