I finally built my first AR and took it out to the range yesterday but had some malfunctions.It's a 14.5 mid length, and I was firing 55gr PMC Xtac out of brand new gen2 Pmags. Every 3-6 rounds, I had failures to chamber, where the tip of the round would be tilted up into the chamber, but the rear would still be in the magazine. Subsequently, the bolt coming forward would dent the shoulder of the cartridge. In addition, the bolt did not hold open after firing the last round in a magazine. I'm wondering where to begin with diagnosing this issue. Of course it would be nice if it's something as simple as the feed lips on the new mags needing to get broken in a but, but I also wondered if it might have something to do with the buffer/buffer spring. Any insight? Thank you.
