Everyone who bitches and moans about Battle Rifles should consult this image, unironically.

If Hans the German conscript in the 70s could do it, so can you.
>>
>>64260351
If 12 year old M'beke can handle a rusty FAL or AK so can you
>>
>>64260351
Hans the German conscript bitched equally as much as the brownies on this board, he just didn’t have a global platform for it. Also he was bitching in German so it sounded funny
>>
>>64260347
Just weight the back.
>>
>>64260347
Just swing a 3 lb hammer at a rubber block until failure every day.

Muscle has nothing to do with it. Form does. Modern gun sport competition has vomited bad form and the side effects are obvious. The correct form for unsupported shooting is elbows in, lead elbow over hip. Firing chicken winged with your thumb over the top of the rifle is bad form. And any rifle will feel heavy quick.

How does that fix the front?
>>
>>64260347

How many times and sets do I have to do that?
>>
>>64260857
Forever
>>
>>64260857
Starting with quite a low weight because it is going to take the better part of half a year to condition all of the joints involved, before seriously considering doing that kind of weighted arm extension with 20+ pounds dumbbells.

And if you don't, or think I'm being a pussy, lol enjoy your fucking wrecked shoulders and elbows in less than 5 years.
>>
>>64261105
Give us your regimen
>>
>>64261105
>>64260418
I can do front raises with >20 lb dumbbells (and bench over 2 plates and deadlift just shy of 4) and I also hold a rifle this way and I still appreciate a lighter gun. I can accept weight if it provides sufficient benefit, but less weight is still generally a very good thing all else equal.

Exercise doesnt fix bitch
>>
Unironically, how do you fix fatigue during extended range trips. After about an hour I start noticeably swaying more and more. What workouts should I do?
>>
>>64261113
the ideal fitness regimen for strength and size, 3 sets 8-15 reps going from lighter to heavier if you have the weights, ideally 4 workouts a week, but 2 different ones that hit different muscles so that you work out all of them. first ones a light warm up, done slow with low weight and full range of motion, 3rd one does more than second one. Ideal rep, you raise for 2 seconds, hold for one, then go down for 2 seconds
You also need to do cardio.
>>
>>64261380
Take a few minutes to let your body recover. Drink some water, eat some chow and get some electrolytes. Went to the ranger earlier yesterday and I just had to sit in my car for a bit and recuperate.
>>

m203 adds this effect

>>64261389
Not him but I'm considering buying a cooler just for range trips

just make a few mods to ergonomic it for your week fatty arms.
>>
>>64260347
It's mostly gonna have to do with forearm strength. This is a better practical exercise.

>>64260444

Imagine doing that and where you'd feel it, that's why isolation sucks. You can't even isolate delts without a delt raise machine, you'll just get stuck around 20lbs because the leverage is held out way too far with your arms extended.
>>
>>64261380
Drink water and drink more water
Hydration is essential
>>
I can't pull back the hammer on my 45 with my arm straight, pointing to the target
>>
>>64261380
Bench, squat, deadlift, and shoulder press are all you need brother.
>>
can you lift it is not the same question as can you point it
able and optimal are not the same answer
>>
>>64260351
Everyone bitched and moaned so hard to battle rifles were dumped into the trash can of history and everyone adopted assault rifles (until a certain permanently stupid army went backwards)
>>
>>64260347
>said by the eternal noshoots nolarps
every super in shape guy I've ever met, including myself, has wanted a lighter rifle because no amount of lifting will make a lifting up and aiming a front heavy rifle after a 20 mile hike feel any better
>bro just lift more
is a very
>flat range
>I shoot a magazine through my rifle
>I put my rifle back down on the table in front of me while I reload
type thing to say. Everyone who carries a fat fuck rifle for a living always wants it to weigh less no matter what. This has just been my experience with actually doing stuff with rifles that isn't flat range shooting into dirt things. The lighter the rifle, the better, to a certain extent
>>

balance
>>
>>64260347
this is a more difficult solution than just manufacturing a balanced rifle. would you rather equip your military with a rifle that requires them to do specialized training specifically to prevent them from becoming fatigued while using it, or one that is properly balanced and doesn't require that?

>Due to the high cost of ammunition, Vinh and his teammates seldom have the opportunity to practice with actual bullets. Nguyen Tan Nam, head coach of Hanoi’s shooting team, told Tuoi Tre that his squad of roughly 100 shooters had not “heard the sound of gunshot for ages”.
>“As there is no ammunition, every day when they come here for training, the shooters just raise the gun, pull the trigger to hear the ‘tick’ sound, and that’s all,” he told the news outlet.
>Due to ammunition shortages, shooters in Hai Phong have been using plastic bottles filled with sand to practice. Photo via Tuoi Tre.

Im confused by the weights you are claiming are you a man or a woman? 20lb front raises for sets, 225 bench, 300lb deadlift...those are females numbers at my powerlifting gym after about a year.
Well, not the 20lb front raises. Thats where the middle school football team usually starts.

>>
>>64262472
Those are my 50 rep maxes, I think that’s the standard form of measurement right?
>>
>>64262039
That's retrarded. Why would the rear of the gun being more heavy stop the front of the gun from being heavy?
>>
>>64264114
>50 reps
Are you shitting me?
>>
>>64264760
No but I am shitting my pants from the protein shakes
>>
>>64264763
50 seems like an absurd number of reps to aim for. Basically any amount of reps over 15 is targeting the endurance of the muscle. It promotes the growth of blood vessels over fibers. That's fine. Endurance lifting is a good way to alternatively strengthen a muscle and break through a plateau in your heavier lifts. But 50 reps as a max? Typically the point of an endurance exercise is to keep going until the burn defeats you. I'd be going for 30 reps. I'm no trainer. Just some self taught guy. But wow.

>>
>>64262290
Correct me if I'm wrong, but there are plenty of deadlift variations to stimulate the muscles of the back, right?
>>
>>64265152
Maybe shrugs or rows, but those aren't targeting the act of raising your arms in front of you.

>>
>>64265252
Random people jump into convos all the time, so don't assume you're always talking to the same guy.

That said, OP's pic seems like the best non-tryhard exercise for keeping a rifle raised. The tryhard version would just be holding your rifle with a weight on the end.
>>
>>64261105
That’s interesting actually. Thanks for the warning
>>
>>64260347

agreed. i regularly shoot and glass with a wood furniture air rifle that with scope and IR clip on is probably about 10 lbs. when i pick up my 16" AR with a full magazine, I am blown away by how light it is in comparison. finding a good rest is key for a shot, but i consider everything else about holding that air rifle to be exercize.

Because lifting unbalanced weight is hard.
You are doing a lot of force just to counter rotate the weight,
Meanwhile if you are lifting near the center of gravity, all can put all your force into just lifting the weight.
>>
>>64264853
uhhhh......I was just kidding though
>>
>>64267567
Strength your spine muscles and increase endurance, suddenly you can carry more and have more utility.
>>
>>64267409
It’s better to warm up and work up to it. After my meniscus surgery I felt like I could run 10 miles within a few months, and even pushed myself a little hard. Doc got on my ass that even if I feel fine and it doesn’t hurt, I could still be fucking up my meniscus and other ligaments irreparably. Take it slow and don’t do and dumb shit, it’s not worth it. I knelt down too hard larping and now my knee will never have the same amount of cushioning for the rest of my life, and I’m only 23. So even if it feels like bullshit and you know you could lift more, take it slow.
>>
