Can we have some context other than pol-words? What the fuck are we looking at Mr. 50cent?
>>
@grok is this a real-ass meteorite interception? Why are they not publishing the shit out of this?

sorry it was a ukrainian drone.
it was an accident.
we'll do it again.
>>
>>64263408
Well goddamnit, actually implessive if true
>>
>>64263391
>>64263408
So if you watch the videos and read the article you will notice two things.
Firstly, the Chinese military had a live fire exercise warning out for that area and the nearby sea.
Secondly in some of the shitty potato camera video you actually see the object arc up from the ground prior to intercept.

This leads me to believe this was an intention practice shoot down they don't want to admit happened.

Meteorite would be cool but it's unlikely.
>>
>>64263391
aw hell nah they're gonna drive ayys to extinction using their penises for traditional medicine
>>
>>64263402
>is this a real-ass meteorite interception?
Way, waaaay too slow for a meteor.
>>
>>64263408
That's... actually fucking sick af, good job China!

What did they use tho? Medium-Range? Shorad? ABM?
>>
>>64263568
Things reentering are far slower near the surface, I wonder if it was automatically shot down or someone wasted a missile against it.
>>
>>64263421
Unless China has
>Warning UFO has entered glorious Chinese airspace, please enter your homes and present anus towards the door, thank you
Then 'live fire warning' is the best they could probably put out in time.
>>
>Video of a Hellfire ineffectively hitting a UFO comes out
>Days later glorious China shoots down a UFO on its own
Coincidence? Or is this yet another 'one-up' PR shit that China does (though Russia started)?
>>
>>64263915
none of those was an UFO.

I'll repost my post.

How to create an UFO for retards:
• aircraft with a thermal camera and enough zoom
• autotrack a balloon while flying in circles
• remove as much text overlay as possible
• post it

>a balloon
Yes.

>can just take a Hellfire travelling 600kph to the face and carry on going
Velocity of the object tracked isn't the same as velocity of the background... picrel

>that coinkydinky disables the warhead fuse
Impact fuzes can't be activated by 20um of mylar/latex

A reentry vehicle or BM doesn't give off 'sparks'.

Do you think they ate the aylmaos after?

Of course, Xi himself will eat the head.

depends on many factors, but they can ablate.
>>
>>64263421
That's a mighty fine observation Mr Allen. Let us forget this fake news story and go back to our Earth customs of heated steaks and exchange of semen.
>>
We should NOT shoot down extraterrestrial vehicles. After the Roswell dissection incident the years of abductions and pointless human vivisection 'experiments' in retribution should've been proof they're perfectly willing to do to us whatever we do to them but a hundred times worse, just because they can. We should not attack a technologically superior species - space justice is harsh and collective punishment is the norm.

>Things reentering are far slower near the surface
Did you ever lie on a hill and watch shooting stars as a kid?
Did you watch footage of Iran or Russia's ballistic missile strikes in the last 2 years as a man?
when something traveling at orbital speed encounters the atmosphere it will traverse the field of view practically before you can blink and will literally be too fast to bleed a significant part of their velocity to mortal notions like drag
OP's video of whatever OP's got is something that left the atmosphere going as slow as molasses as these things go
>>
>>64264359
I should clarify that I didn't think anything in this random air defense video was ever outside the atmosphere but I got embarrassingly wrapped up in the UFO hypothetical
>>
>>64264359
>what's terminal velocity
De-acceleration depends on cross sectional density, aerodynamic and trajectory angle. If mankind could collect tons of meteorites, many of them as huge and fragile masses it's because they don't go that fast near the surface.

It's seems to be just a military exercise and the goverment didn't care to detail what are their doing and why are they blowing up things in the sky near a city, they simply declared a no-fly zone.
>>
>>64264464
yeah, that's a simple ballistic missile intercept test. funnily, they're falling into the trap as what the west does in that the majority of tests are against a mostly ballistic missile with little in the way of maneuvering. granted, the ballistic missile is moving at hypersonic velocities, so even an intercept of such isn't easy at all.
>>
>>64263408
Shooting down a meteorite is the chad way to show off your IADS.

Lol.

Reddit and it's consequences have been a disaster for the human race.
>>
>>64263959
Probably less than people who post UFO's
>>
Why is this impressive. It's a predictable trajectory.
>>
>>64265395
Because slow meteorites come in at ~11km/s which is way faster than any ICBM.
It's a ballistic trajectory but the pure speed is insane, "hypersonics" are over 1.5km/s.
>>
>>64265479
11 km/s is OUTSIDE the atmosphere.
The Apollo had a initial reentry speed of 11 km/s, guess what was the speed near the surface before opening the parachutes...
>>
>>64265496
You think the plasma glow happens low? It starts ~80km up and stops by ~40km with an entry speed on ~8km/s (LEO)

At low altitude a speed of 3 km/s is enough to melt most metals, the X-15 reached a temperature of 700ºC by flying at 2km/s at high altitude (above 30 km). And the object in the video is disintegrating/ablating not ionizing air, here's an example of a Sprint at relatively low altitude, vid rel.

Meteors vaporize in milliseconds if they move fast in the low atmosphere, that's why only those reentering with shallow angles survive and don't vaporize at altitude.
>>
>>64263412
>it was an accident.
>we'll do it again
Based.
>>
>>64265660
Watch a full video on reentery, starship, shuttle anything from LEO with onboard cameras, speed and altitude displayed.
Plasma starts high and at high altitude deceleration is minimal to the point you'll often see ground speed increase as it moves towards orbital perigee (yes it's still an orbital perigee even if it's below ground level on a suborbital trajectory).

>look at sprint
Completely irrelevant because as you say yourself meteorites don't make it at low while retaining high speed, if you do watch a reentery video you'll see that ~40km altitude is the highest deceleration with rapid speed loss. The pressure up there is only ~0.00272 atm or ~3 thousandths what it is a sea level.

>X-15
Never produced plasma, you are mistaking the ionization of air with hot, they are the same like a raindrop is the same as a lake.
>>
>>64265724
The Starships reentry with the shallowest and lowest cross section density possible to lose speed in the thin atmosphere (lower thermal load).
The TL;DR of my post was: object glowing =/= air plasma.

>Completely irrelevant because as you say yourself meteorites don't make it at low while retaining high speed
Relevant because I never claimed that the object was really fast at low altitude or glowing due to ionized air, it's giving off sparks because it's reacting with the air.
>>

>>64265496
That's the average speed of my cock entering a pussy

>why are they blowing up things in the sky near a city
They just don't care. Jamie pull up the videos of Chinese rockets falling next to towns spewing hydrazine all around.

It's literally impossible to do that. Not gonna read the thread someone probably already explained it already.

>Every infantry man now doubles as an artillery man
>>
>>64268229
Is that a weird Starship Troopers reference?
>>
>>64268164
yes, it's sped up, but the test missile is surrounded by a plasma sheath even at relatively high altitude, so it's definitely going hypersonic. it looks like it's meant to mimic a hypersonic quasiballistic missile or hypersonic cruise missile threat with no or limited maneuvering potential. you can see that it doesn't go all that high (for a ballistic missile), flattens out a little, and then dives on the target. you can also see the interceptor dive down on the target, so this is probably their pac-3 kk copy.

intelligence agencies will love these videos.
>>
>>64264407
That wouldn't be too bad. Now if it could make ancient dictators and senators live longer...
>>
>>64268242
No, I was referring to human tripods thanks to their new third leg.
