How the fuck countries like Bangladesh and Philippines operate and maintain the typhoons with their yearly low defense budget? Not talking about how they will purchase as its very easy through FMF and G2G deals

They should go for 5th gen instead, better for the long run
>>
That kind of countries double their economy each 10-15 years, it's incorrect to think in present when they could increase their military expending, they'll grow in general and Europe can finance the purchase to 10-20 years with their bank.
>>
>>64268259
The Philippines can neither afford nor be trusted with 5th gens, and if they can't afford F-35s they certainly can't afford Typhoons. Better to just reopen US airbases and host F-35 squadrons, or Chinese airbases in the case of Bangladesh.
The Gripen E and F-16V are the only viable options for the flips, probably leaning toward the F-16 due to political/economic reasons and Sweden/Saab haven't exactly done the best job at marketing the Gripen.

Meanwhile, Austria wanted 18 new Tranche 2 Typhoons, and ended up getting 15 used Tranche 1 Typhoons, for the increased price.

>On 2 July 2002 the Austrian government announced its decision to buy the Typhoon as its new air defence aircraft, it having beaten the General Dynamics F-16 and the Saab JAS 39 Gripen in competition. The purchase of 18 Typhoons was agreed upon on 1 July 2003, and included training, logistics, maintenance and a simulator.
>On 26 June 2007 Austrian Minister for Defense Norbert Darabos announced a reduction to 15 aircraft. The first aircraft was delivered on 12 July 2007 and formally entered service in the Austrian Air Force.
>A 2008 report by the Austrian government oversight office, the Rechnungshof, calculated that instead of getting 18 Tranche 2 jets at a price of €109 million each, as stipulated by the original contract, the revised deal agreed by Minister Darabos meant that Austria was paying an increased unit price of €114 million for 15 partially used, Tranche 1 jets.
>Austrian prosecutors are investigating allegations that up to €100 million was made available to lobbyists to influence the original purchase decision in favour of the Eurofighter.
>In 2010, Darabos received the Grand Decoration for Services to the Republic of Austria in Gold with Sash.

Anon...
>>
>>64268256
The Philippines does not operate and maintain much less can afford Yurofighters.

They can't even ink 20-24 Vipers/Gripens, that's how inept and dirtpoor they are.
>>
>>64268256
just checked both of these cuntries wtf they both have almost similar economies

>>64268684
what about Vietnam? looks like another similar economy but better country than the other mentioned two

As long as they don't buy American they made the right call.

Deshi fag here, bangladesh air force had chosen EFT in 2019 and they would have finalized the deal with leonardo in 2020 but, pajeet land with their agent govt back then slowed/ halted the process. Pajeets even lured france to buy rafale for the bangladesh air force as the pajeets knew the air force had chosen yuro but this would at least slow or cancel the process which actually worked somehow and france will be with their retarded foreign policy everywhere. Not to mention, there are also some corruption findings now regarding 2-3 retired generals who were the advisers of the previous indian agent govt.
BTW, China had also offered J-10B for the air force as the debut export back in 2013 but as usual indian agent govt felt threatened, they didn't get approval from delhi

>>64268276
Our defence budget currently is only 4-5 billions where 90% of the money are being used for salaries and maintenances, without doubling the money allocation I don't think its possible to operate EFT or 5th gens unless the expense also comes with the package
Looks like so far, the J-10C has been confirmed now as the air force will be operating single-double engine combination fighters within the next 5-10 years replacing the miggers 29 and f-7 coffins
>>
>>64268256
Just buy some fa-50s and let America open an airbase. The money that gets spent of booze and ladyboys will cover your operational costs.

>what about Vietnam? looks like another similar economy but better country than the other mentioned two
Vietnam has weak air force too, only 40 something potent fighters which make no sense for a country like this

>>64269343
>fa-50s
Already in the service with the filipino air force and also a light attack which is almost useless in actual wars. Has brazilian super tucano light attackers too
Bangladesh has also the italian-russian yak-130 for the light attacks
>>
>>64268411
>what the fuck happened there
Austrians bought the end of history memes, dotcom crash, inflation, and a dash of regular ol corruption

Shills will try to snidely imply that Austria got stiffed but reality is that Austria downsized its order as a cost saving measure, decided in the following decades of peace that all it needed was Tranche 1s, and then dug its heels firmly on that score
>>
The Philippines isn't interested in buying military equipment, their politicians and generals would rather steal shekels for mansions, luxury cars and overseas properties.

One quick Google shows that they are having an insane corruption scandal with funding that could buy them anything short of F-35s.

Turkey is getting the Typhoons too what the fuck?

https://www.euronews.com/my-europe/2025/07/23/uk-and-turkey-sign-deal-for-eurofighter-jets-as-ankara-aims-to-upgrade-air-force

Is this the result of Indian Rafale getting fucked in the ass literally by the paks?
>>
>>64272500
Not with the Turks. They're getting them because they're on reasonably good terms with the bongs and BAE and Rolls Royce are contributing to Turkey developing its aerospace industry

Rafale getting its shit pushed in by J-10 is definitely a factor for the Philippines though, since they have ongoing problems with Chinese incursion. It seems like the Flips didn't even consider Rafale, or it got rejected quickly through lack of confidence
>>
>>64269484
> Vietnam has weak air force
Vietnam's Air Force is weak because it doesn't have any AWACS or dedicated EW aircraft. But all their modern aircraft's are operational because they have the capabilities to produce spare parts for it. Vietnam's logistics is unironically overpowered
>>
>>64272585
The Rafale got its shit pushed in so hard India is considering 114 more
>>
>>64272734
Guess that Trump is not going to sell them F-16s, let alone F-35, now that Modi is officially the best buddy of Putin
>>
>>64272751
art of the deal lmao
>>
>>64272734
Because Trump has tariffed the fuck out of them, so they're not buying American out of spite.
Russian shit is a no-go, because it's worse than Rafale
So India gets more Rafales by default
>>
Why Bangladesh Wants the Eurofighter Typhoon in 2025

https://youtu.be/eTtFhkiTSJk
>>
>>64272734
India planned to buy moar rafales even before trump came to office lmao... ind-pak or tariff wars have nothing to do with it, check out their navy aircraft procurement plans timeline so, trump probably knew this hence the nigga pushed for negotiations through agricultural instead of defense equipment. Moreover, India has more chances to get Su-57 than any major murican jets.

>>64272790
>Russian shit is a no-go, because it's worse than Rafale
India is already maybe in finalizing stage with Russia for stealth jets with significant ToTs.

Wow kumar, screen cap this
You are going to get fucked by China, USA, Russia and by all your neighboring countries simultaneously in the coming years, I mean this what happens when you blindly follow ancient Hindu diplomacy and looks like the french will be your only allies who has also shit diplomacy.

Transfer of Technology is a glorified way to say licensing for assemblage and making your own spares.
Engines, radars and seats aren't part of the transfer, if they receive some of those are under a different agreement.

Russia is considered all weather ally of India so, this could happen.
