if you can hunt pigs at night why isn't a Pig Plex a big light gathering scope instead of super small?

You use a spotlight.

is this scope designed to work only with spot light for night pig hunts?

do pigs non-react or freeze in spotlight?
>>
"Pig Plex" is a marketing term that refers to the reticle design, it has nothing to do with the scope dimensions or other characteristics

How "light gathering" works:
>divide the objective diameter by the magnification
>if the result is bigger than your eye pupil, you're getting the maximum possible "light gathering"
>typical eye pupil is 1-3 mm during the day, 5 mm at dawn/dusk, and 7 mm when fully dark adapted
This scope is a 1.5-4x20. Can /k/ do the math?
>>
Because it's going behind a clip on thermal, so it doesn't matter. You do own a thermal, right?

literally no such thing

>Yes officer you see I was hunting pigs not poaching honest

used to have like this but backpack got stolen.

pretty good, it would show a ghetto bird at a few miles, much more than claimed range.

But I don't get, don't Thermals all got mag?

https://www.basspro.com/p/agm-global-vision-rattler-v2-thermal-imaging-rifle-scope-with-quick-detachable-mount

Global Vision scope offers 1X, 2X, 4X, and 8X digital zoom.

Maybe it's intended for driven hunts? The scope that can give magnification or work as a substitute for a red dot? Russians call that type of scope "driven hunt scopes" for a reason.
Actually, I agree with you. There are scopes like Kahles Helia 1,5-6x42, they must be better for shooting pigs in the dusk.

Actually, they react. They flee in fear.

Standalone thermal scopes are less flexible. Clip on thermal in front of LPVO gives you long range capability for both day and night.
>>

>LPVO
now I'm starting to get it.

LPVO stands for Low Power Variable Optic, a versatile rifle scope that offers both true 1x magnification for close-quarters shooting, similar to a red dot sight, and higher, adjustable magnification for longer distances. This "do-it-all" capability makes LPVOs popular for a wide range of shooting scenarios, from tactical operations to hunting, by providing the flexibility to quickly engage targets at various ranges without needing to switch optics

but is this really "or" rather than "and" and they aren't variable? Magnification: 2.5-20X

or does their "variable" just kinda suck and only goes down to 2.5x
