>>64301309 #Furries are a plot by werewolves to desensitize us to their true form, it’s only partially done, but they first started with sport mascots, then furries are becoming more and more visible in the public eye, soon you’ll see them out and about every day in metropolitan cities. They will become a protected class even. Then true werewolves will be free to roam in the true beastly form. Similarly to how vampires are using goths to normalize their appearance. You should absolutely invest in silver bullets. And keep a clove of garlic in your abode.

Thinking about a shield plus. Those who have one, any reliability issues? First smif
Realistically often should you do a full teardown of your weapon for cleaning/lube? I'm a new gun owner and I have a feeling that if I took mine apart I would lose something or simply be unable to put it back together.
>>64301550Every gun I buy, I take apart and put back together ten times in a row just so I can get a good handle for how it works/goes together. When a gun is in my rotation, I'll lube maybe once a month but I only clean if I get mechanical failures (rare)
>>64301550A field strip should be all you need to do to clean, it’s not until very high round counts 10k+ would you be required to clean out extractor channel and perhaps the firing pin fire
I’ve been in desperate need of a handgun to carry but am on a pretty restrictive budget so I have been looking to make trades. I found someone interested in a .22 bolt I have offering up a Beretta Nano with a few mags and holsters. Anyone here have experience with them before? I know 6-8 round mags isn’t the Reddit meta right now but in all honesty I don’t feel that concerned if I just carry a spare or two

>>64301550Like every 5 minutes is good.
So as we can see when James Reeves said "every single part was changed," that was hyperbole. It was false. Not only are a number of parts indistinguishably identical, MOST small parts are completely interchangeable between the two guns. When Daniel Defense vehemently insisted to me that their disconnector would not fit in a Hudson, they were wrong. Here is a Daniel Defense disconnector in my old Hudson frame. It has returned full function to the gun--no more dropped resets.I confirmed all relevant parts interchangeability with a pencil test.

Multiple guns of the same caliber? y/n? Seems kinda pointless to me but I'm very new. I just have single glock 17 and don't know what to get for my second gun. Another handgun, a rifle like an AR or maybe even a shotgun.
>>64301797Thanks for the tips, friend.
>>64301821Yes. Just having to buy massive piles of 9mm makes life so much easier. You don’t have to bring different ammo types to the range and run out of ammo of the gun you want to shoot
>>64301821You could get a PCC (pistol caliber carbine) in 9mm. It would be cost effective since they share ammo. As far as what to get next, it would depend on your tastes and your needs. You have a very practical gun in the Glock 17 so you can either get another very practical weapon (an AR) or get something you think is just cool like a revolver or 1911. Personally, I think every American of sound mind and body should own, operate and maintain an AR.
>>64301822I would also make sure you shoot A LOT. 9mm is pretty cheap so you can get a lot of practice in. Don't make ANY changes to your gun until you've shot at least a couple thousand through it.

It's amazing how mounting pistol dots is so eclectic and hard to find information on.I've had a dot come loose twice. So far Ive seen>scrub all the threads with acetone>use loctite 234 over 242>apply a drop of E6000 adhesive between all of the mounting surfacesWhat pisses me off the most is the complete lack of hardware standards, its a horrible mix of SAE, countersink angles and Metric.I think all of the optics companies should come to a gentleman's agreement over standardizing proper hardware and mounting solutions...
>Beretta GeneralBased honestly
>>64301914Also, the front recoil stop holes are all wallered out like a used up pussy on my Holosun now.It still mounts flush to the plate so Im gonna send it but still...

>>64301941No, I'm shooting this bitch supressed and everything I've seen says Vibratite needs oxygen to set properly and can't handle high heat applications properly.243 is the last step before red loctite, or just trading your pistol in.Really the optics manufacturing companies need to come to a standard across all brands.
>>64301412An utterly stupid purchase but something I'm willing to liquidate alot of my unshot guns to have I just built a .45 ACP 2011, which in the 150 rounds for testing it seemed to run great feeding and ejecting, but this is the gun I really want.
>>64301958YOUR OPTIC MOUNT IS NOT HIGH TEMP YOU STUPID RETARDI have maybe 5k rounds on my PX4 compact with an RMR HD using vibratite without issue. >>64301335Not seeing an issue.
>>64302854Nta but I’ve never been able to get the hammer pin out so I never changed my hammer spring out. Oh well. Trs was easy.
>>64303003Odd since I don't remember having any issue with that with either of my M9s, but you don't actually have to remove the hammer pin. You can just tap out the pin holding the lanyard in place and replace the hammer spring that way.
Speaking of 92fs/m9 guns, I’m thinking about sending mine off for frame safety. Is there any reason I shouldn’t? Figuring I can get the front sight modded for fiber in the same swing.
>>64303455Personally I don't think it's worth it. I've never used the safety on my Beretta while carrying it as I consider the DA pull adequate to the task.
>>64301754A classic choice. Excellent.
>>64303544I’m early into my conversions but afaik da functionality is preserved. Supposedly some feature decocker provisions can be made but unsure of what that entails. My angle is that it may play nicer with legacy optic mounts, I.e. aimtech. Operacion pimp my 92fs. Not sure what other work could be done. I do kind of like the Italian rollmark but front serrations could be groovy.

>>64302854Should I get this kit if I'm planning on ghosting my Inox?Should I get the m9a3 lever and do this all at once time?
>>64301502
>>64303906No, since ghosting is only possible with the use of a gunbroker parts kit from a ghost or the LTT NP3 parts kit. Several small parts like the take down lever button and trigger pin are impossible to source in stainless steel so they can be only found in parts kits and Langdon’s NP3 kit Getting another safety lever doesn’t make sense when you’re going to get a decocker lever

Can't remember if I posted this here already or not, but we finally got Spike's pistol. That's another gun off the bucket list for me.I'd look at the modern renditions of the Jericho or other variants but just couldn't accept them as a substitute. I knew that I had to get the EXACT same model. And honestly> I see now why they moved the safety to the frame instead of the slide.I wanna say that I fucking love this gun and everything it means to me, but that's just a small little gripe that I have with it. Funny how the slide safety was the whole reason I tracked this model down, only to kind of prefer the frame safety.
>>64301754I love my 92FS, I hold it as my golden standard that I compare all other pistols to personally. It just ticks all of my boxes. Its not a perfect gun, but everything about it just feels right.

https://youtu.be/k-1vrRuWHJs92 frt, what do we think of it?I have his tomcat compensator and it's neat but not perfect. The thing that turns me off is his website makes it sound like you need to take a Dremel to the gun rather than just the piece.

>>64304335Yeah, I had looked up a little bit of stuff on it and at the time it looked like it'd have to be a damn near entire custom job. Not something I'm ready to hop into just yet. Maybe another few rewatches will get me there though.
What is your favorite cheap ammo? I have some WWB coming in today and I wanna order a big-boy 1000 round pack. Is it worth it to pay a little extra for Blazer or Federal?
>>64304390On /k/ or hg? If it requires actual milling of the frame I'd want to try it on a clapped out trade-in before potentially ruining a nice one. Would be ultra sick in your auto 9 tho
>>64304539I like Blazer Brass 124 at its price point. I think it’s plated rather than jacketed like Federal, but I don’t notice any difference in fouling. WWB is noticeably dirtier to me. The Winchester NATO stuff is notably spicy, if you want that.
>>64304449I don’t, but I can’t imagine the Loks are substantively thinner, if at all. The VZ/WC ones are like sub-millimeter at the thinnest point, and only swell out to accommodate the screws. I also think that ultra thin grips are probably not necessary, and I say this as a handlet.
>>64304539Anything brass that's cheap and made in the West. If I have a choice I'd pick Blazer, Federal or another of the mousefart ammos cause I like low recoil when blastin :) I also like Magtech as it tends to be a little more accurate in many of my guns, but it's a little spicier than average. >>64301314Any anons happy with Walther PDP these days? I'm looking at getting something to bedside/carry/drill with besides my CZ PCR. Local shop had the compact 4" with the pro trigger and an ACRO mounted to cowitness for like $1100. Seemed like a great setup and it felt nice in the hand. Also handled the shadow 2 carry and was a bit disappointed. Would be cool to have, but pretty overpriced.
>>64306402Based. Even if it is beat to shit, that's not necessarily a bad thing. It means you can either beat on it some more or have some fun refurbishing it. Either way, for $360, you're doing pretty good.
>>64306422I'm very interested in a full size PDP. I've got huge ass hands and I need a home defense. Walther has had glowing reviews from every gun nut I've spoken to recently.
>>64306455At that price as long as it shoots decent groups I don't care. If it's super banged up I'll just spray paint it fucking purple or do some other retarded shit with it lol. I bought it to use as a nightstand gun not a museum piece.
>>64306470That's basically what i've been seeing as well. Pro trigger was really nice, i don't really need a magwell or the basepads but its a nice bonus. Ironically the ACRO is kinda the turn off at this point. I don't have much RDS opinion but i've not like shooting through the ACRO window and would probably just do an RMR. I'll miss the deep cowitness cut though. >>64306402Worst case scenario you're gonna strip it down and and put some new stuff in it. Love me 92a1.
>>64306422>>64306470the PDP was on my shortlist of handguns to get and once i got one, i ordered the optics plate, slapped an optic on it, took it to the range, and...Its just another strikerslopIt's got a good trigger out of the box, sure, but i've modded glocks and a sig p320 + 365 to have better triggers. I didn't notice any kind of recoil management better than what i've used before. Its a GREAT striker handgun thats basically a buy once cry once, but its literally nothing special. You'd need to start looking into the steel frames or the Q3 match or investing in compensators and all that shit to get a truly legendary handgun.
>>64306533Yeah i've not heard anyone say anything that paints it as something magical. I'm just looking for something that shoots really nice out of the box in a package that I can carry. I'm not the really type to do a full trigger mod and still have it be the go to defense gun unless i put a shitload of rounds on it first.
>>64306373>I just wanted somethingI just wanted to be born rich but life isn't fair retard, sometimes your interests don't trump clear labeling standards. The original 1911, the classic version, if you will looks better than your bastardized version
>>64306660My opinion is the 1911 desperately needs the beaver tail and trigger guard undercut. The colt classic is called the classic since the average standard 1911s look nothing like the old "classic" ones. Nobody wants a year 1911 1911 for shooting and use.
>>64306533I have just heard Walthers are super reliable like Glocks. I'm fairly new to everything and have only been to shoot at ranges a few times with friends.
>>64306754More reliable. Walthers don't jam with WMLs, aren't subject to limp wrist and don't eject 360 degrees around the gun.
>>64306821Yeah Glocks don’t do all that too lol. And they’re just as reliable. They also have less felt recoil than the PDP series.
>>64306754The Walther PDP is a fantastic firearm. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise
>>64306851>muh not all glocksThey are widely known for it dipshit. Oh and I forgot another common issue, mags don't drop free because wobbly plastic rubs against wobbly plastic. >got a glock brand glock>got a sig p365 for ccw>what next>a revolver might be neat>a cheap historical gun might be a fun meme>1911s are bretty fuggin coolThoughts and recommendations on a 1911 if you don't mind spending more on one than a typical Glock, but don't want to spend AR money on a pistol? The Springfield Armory Garrison seems like a good balance, and I like the wood grips. Plus, it would be neat to go for something in .45 ACP to experience something other than 9mm. I don't mind going a little more expensive, but over 1k for a pistol is too much for my taste unless it's something truly worth it.Insight on wheelguns is also appreciated, but not as much of a priority, and I'd probably end up going full yeehaw boomer on one of those.
>>64307777checkedAnons have recommended Dan Wesson in the past.
>>64307777checked, and that springfield looks pretty good. It has the extended beavertail to avoid slide bite, those sights work great, the extended grip safety means the gun never fails to fire because you're not holding it tight enough. I have a 20 year old Loaded model, it's been good to me.
i cant be the only one who just enjoys fondling their pistol every now and then while wasting time on 4chan right?like my pistol might be shit by countless standards, but i just love how good it feels in my hands, i love spinning it, and i love pointing it at random shit on my screentheres just some sort of love between me and my handgun that i dont quite get between a rifle
>>64306660>I just wanted to be born richI bet you wish you were born white, too.
>>64306702It's not an extended Beavis tail, just an A1 style, but that has always worked for me.
>>64306754The margins between modern handguns are, well, marginal. The biggest issue is that with some of the less expensive/popular guns, you might be faced with a lack of options for holster and parts. The only real exception is that there is a significant safety concern surrounding the SIG P320. It would probably be best to avoid it.

Has anyone shortened a beretta frame for a compact slide? Worth it?
>>64311070depending on the frame and slide you probably dont even need to shorten it at all.Info online is all fucking wrong now that AI scrapes reddit for fuddlore.Back when i first got my 96 i got into arguments with people here on /hg/ because all i did was buy a 9mm barrel and it worked. Tons of screeching about extractors and dimensions and breech faces, its all bullshit. If it fits it ships. The thing is all the slide safety beretta frames tend to be extremely similar, its the slides that vary in thickness and length and where the little notch for the slide lock is, etc.So if you already have a compact slide, just slap it on your frame and see what happens. Chances are the dust cover is NOT going to be the thing that causes problems and wont need to be shortened. You could even run full size slides on compact frames if you dont mind a gap.
>>64311070I can’t imagine why you would ever do such a thing, berettas are cheap. Just buy another
>>64311144Compact/centurion slide rails are shorter, you went centurion to centurion and did not go full-size to centurion.
>>64311153case in point, this guyshorter rails dont matter when the whole fucking slide is cut with one long rail notch from tip to tail
>>64311163The guide rod and recoil assembly is shorter, I am not home to compare the full-size and compact size together but the old beretta Fudd fourm said that compact on full-size frame does not work reliably. That’s why there is a difference in frames between full-size and compact in slide rails dimensions.I wonder if it’s like a 1911 and you risk frame battering
>>64311144>>64311148This may be insanity, but a beretta compact slide on a fs frame. Afaik could use same barrel but then thread that. Most components could be swapped I'd like to think and all it would take is the sacrifice of one italian frame.

>>64311040>>64311041I really love the look of the GP141-C. I'm trying to figure out how it compared to a regular GP100 and what the C stands for.
>>64301821Buying a large amount of guns is completely optional and it just kind of happens naturally over time.>I just have single glock 17 and don't know what to get for my second gun. It's really simple, glock 43 or shield plus. It might seem stupid at first glance, because they are also in 9mm, so redundant, but there is a significant size difference, you might be more likely to carry around a 43 rather than a 17.
>>64301821Having a tiny 9mm for summer and a big 9mm for the rest of the year is based thoughever
>>64312316This. PX-4 Compact in the summer, 92 in the winter
>>64306422You won't be disappointed with it. It's strikerslop so it's nothing special compared to some guns but as strikerslops go I like it the best. My brother has one and I love it, he loves it, we both think it's a good choice for anyone looking for a handgun. >>64307011Classic deflect and redirect, noguns turdie
>>64302052Just bought the 3.6" version. She's crisp. I might also buy the 3.1" to replace my p365.
>>64306422The CZ P10 is the best strikerslop on the market.
>>64312740Nothing will ever replace your stolen p365. There will always be a p365 sized hole in your soul.
>>64313090Better than a p320 sized hole in his foot.
>>64311620>plastic mainspring housing And an aluminum trigger, too. It's not perfect, but it's as close as I could get to what I wanted. I will probably put a brass bead front sight, too. Any suggestions as to where I can get a blued steel trigger and main spring housing would be appreciated. >>64311693>I will pay a premium for a US made gun.Very much this. I like American manufacturing job. So much in fact I even have one.>>64311791>the disrespect Colt gives it with the shitty parts, not for 800, let alone MSRP. That's the price of giving your employees reasonable wages and health insurance. They have to keep it reasonable somehow because if it is too expensive, they won't sell enough to make a profit. >>64311841>SpringfieldAre their 1911s made in the USA? I know a lot of their stuff is made in Croatia. >>64312007>I need more .45 ACPYeah, this is my first .45 in over 20 years. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to feel a 1911. I haven't had one in so long because they are pretty picky guns in my experience.
Is an NP3 coating supposed to look like this? This is a brand new never installed connector.
>>64308043>I carry a plastic fantastic strikerFair enough, anon!
>>64313431>>64313435None of my Langdon np3 coated parts has been splotchy
>>64313431>>64313435This looks like they didn't properly clean the part before coating. It probably won't hurt anything, but I think you have reason to complain to whoever sold it to you.
>>64313542I contacted overwatch precision and they said it’s perfectly fine but I’m gonna try to return or exchange it. I read more into it and it looks like they did shit surface prep so I don’t want it to start peeling off later down the road.
>>64313145Nobody makes steel triggers since it compromises drop safety. Aluminum trigger shoes are the standard for a reason
Am sworn not to bake and so I shant
>>64313681sp
>>64313686sybau :)
>>64313719Is that all you know how to say now? You said you were done with /hg/ and /arg/ go on git
>>64313719Wastebin
>>64313633Well, what about a blued steel back strap.
>>64313881Like 30-50 dollars for a quality one. The EGW ones are obnoxiously sharp that you can take down to your preferred sharpness with a stone or file I used a EGW one on this colt
>>64313900>EGWI'll check it out. What about mags and ammo and mags? I was gonna order some American Eagle ammo and a mec-gar and a Chudd McCormick mag to see how they do. All I really remember about 1911s isbthat they jam a lot and I want to try to minimize that.
>>64313943I shoot Winchester Red Box as my favorite, makes nice round holes with its flat nose. I like Wilson Combat ETM 8 round mags, I got them for like 25 dollars each on sale 8 round mags aren’t universally reliable, I bought a Tisas that wouldn’t feed from an 8 rounder for whatever reason but ran fine from a 7
>>64310524that was before i put the s15's with the metal catch but thank you anon

>>64313090I'm not the guy that had it stolen. I still have mine.
>>64301976Vibratite fucking sucks. I've personally seen it come loose on like 15 different guns, and tried it once on one of my guns, where it also came loose. It's utter garbage, and I absolutely think it's only popular because of an organized shilling campaign. Yes, I let it "cure" 30 minutes before applying it. Yes I used a torque wrench. Its just trash.
>>64314847Nah fuck you It’s been solid on all my guns.
