Could wounded soldiers be turned into enhanced bionic soldiers in the near future?

>>64302905>>64302907Fuck yamudda
How high are the chances that that gauntlet is remote controlled?
>>64302905Human beings aren't that expensive. Whatever it costs to restore a disabled veteran back to 100% physical capacity, you can pay a fraction of to get able-bodied dropouts to pick up a gun for you.
>>64302920Preservation of experience and morale boosts from knowing previously dire wounds can be better managed are useful
>>64302919guaranteed
Blown off leg prosthetics seem more relevant due to mines. Still cool though, since functioning limbs, or reasonably so, give a lot of independence for the individual = confidence.
>>64302905Cool prosthetic. Is it real or fake?>>64302920Pretty much.>>64302924Not untrue, if you get your hand removed by a Dushka or booby trap, it's probably comforting to know that you can get a cool robot hand replacement like Joseph Joestar. However, I feel that this kind of thing would still be used sparingly by a military, the U.S Army certainly isn't averse to neglecting most veterans.
>>64303465>Asian in the videoIt's 100% fake
cyb
>>64302905If you get a wooden hand you can fuck Cher.
>>64302905If the replacement was truly an enhancement, they wouldn't bother putting them on wounded people. They would start augmenting people in peak physical and mental condition who have not had the mental trauma associated with getting crippled in the first place.
>>64302905Bionic soldier would be more expensive and less functional than any basic bitch normal soldier. So the answer is no.
>>64303659The only case for bionic enhancements on a wounded soldier is if the soldier was so skilled in a specific field that their experience cannot be replaced.Otherwise yes. It is cheaper to just train a new grunt.
>>64303465>Is it real or fake? They're Chinese. Vid related. https://youtu.be/PKCnBRSd2ns
No.
Oh cool Chinas working on a copy of what my company made 15 years ago to augment wounded soldiers. Maybe by 2050 they'll have figured out organ printing.
>>64303465Probably real. There are prosthetics which detect muscle movement or electrical signals and move the hand accordingly. Adding wireless data transmission shouldn't be too hard
>>64302905>china>reallol, lmao even
>>64302905Yes but it's not a good idea. Prosthetics require specialized maintenance and repairs which aren't going to be available in the field. >>64302920On the flip side, veterans tend to perform better than fresh recruits.
>>64302905That's some MGS V kinda shit, if only it were real.
Cool robo armsUnfortunately,>Laputan Machine
>>64304529I... am not... a... *deletes you along with himself*
With modern day drone and mine bullshit being the primary ways you get injured actually yes. Like right now or in the very near future? Hell naw dog, way to fucking expensive and complicated. Maybe in like 20-30 years we can get some Adam Jensen's who never asked for any of this being created out of combat vets who will 100% get maimed after serving for a couple years. But only the guys who want to continue fighting even after everything that's happened to them and are actually really good at their job, that's a rare dude and one that's worth the investment. Otherwise the big benefit prosthetics have, even in Ukraine right now, is a huge morale boost to dudes being thrown at the grey zones. Knowing you will be able to return to civilian life not completely crippled is huge.
>>64302920Supposing you are finding yourself struggling to recruit fresh people at all, like many western nations are currently, and investing in the few people who ARE willing is your only option
>>64302905We have the technology

>>64304573Lemon lime
no it costs too much money
>>64302905When will they invent a bionic chin for this poor man?

>>64302905>Could wounded soldiers be turned into enhanced bionic soldiers in the near future? It is reserved for astronauts, and a race car driver, a tennis player, a dog, and the astronaut's son, and young Sandra Bullock
>>64303596I have considered cutting off my own legs for prosthetics. Imagine no more stubbed toes, toenail trimming, cold or stinky feet
>>64302905They're slitty and they're dinky,Duplicitous and stinky,They're altogether chinky,The Bing Chong Ding Pang Song Chung Fang family.
>>64305902Don't forget being able to take more positove Gs.>Fly a Hornet or Eagle>Have robot legs>Go 10 Gs>Grow a second joystick because the blood can't below the pelvis
>>64302905Yes. Their mangled barely alive bodies will be permanently put into walking tanks to fight again forever.
>>64306201>I can't let you do that starfox!
>>64302905why wait for when they're wounded?
>>64306201>>64307355That's a thing and it's not prettyhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hematocele(very nsfw pic on top of page)

>>64306201You still couldn't take that much more before you stroked out
>>64314831Humanoid drones would be far cheaper and more effective
>>64314831>ImagineLet's go from imagining to explaining. What benefits do those things confer?>Bro we enhance the brainpan with tantalum in an expensive surgery so when the soldier in question gets hit by an IED the rapid rotation of their vehicle slams their brain into a substance harder than boneWOW!
>>64302905It looks to me that even something as basic as wiping your ass would be a very painful experience. Also knowing that regular prosthetics are hella expensive and not very durable already, I don't see these become commonplace easily.
>>64302905could chink shills make more subtle posts in tge near future?
>>64315839You could use synthetic muscle, it's come a long way, stretch synthetic skin over it and you probably couldn't even tell at first glance it's not a real hamd, the problem is powering it
>>64302905Not sure about enhanced. But possible it becomes a thing. Though I can see it coming with commitments for the investment. >>64302920Depends on the country and service, western ones might view it as a moral point. China would view it as too expensive. I exclude Russia because i don't think hey will be a real country in the next few years.
>>64302905Fuck yeah.
>>64315872Not to mention a morale point. Losing an arm or leg would Suck but getting a cool robot limb would take the edge off. You can go back to a mostly normal life.
Implessive
>>64302905
I used to think a bionic limb would be cool, but now I'm so used to piloting my meat suit that I don't think I want to relearn.
>>64302905>has the chance for 2 opposible thumbs>blows it
>>64316419Ok boomer
>>64315839They're asian so most likely they have toilets that wash their own asses.
>>64302905Always imagined bionic soldiers would be subject to the same brand war as anything else which is funny.>He only has a 4rM-4x>only having Opticore eyes in 202x>extendo fingers never ever H4n5s-fags>>64305626She never asked for this.
>>64302905A robotic limb can only be so powerful when it's attached to human flesh and bone.
>>64302905no, absolutely not. I mean, like not in the next 40 years kind of "no." We're not even in the infant stages of that and there's little to no interest in accelerating existing programs>take wounded soldier>muscles are fucked>nerves are fucked>skeletal system may or may not be fucked>each wounded soldier is a unique collection of fucked bio-systems>put $400k into enhancing implants>requires brain augmentation to accept electrical stimuli from outside source>if it was minor we could use the body to power it>by nature of the fact that we are replacing bio systems and limbs on wounded soldiers, this shit is not minor>literally needs a battery>weeks of testing on each individual to make sure systems are connected properly and they don't get killed within hours of deploying after all of this investment>heavy pain medication>anti-rejection meds so body doesn't fight all of the foreign objects we just put in it>immune system is now suppressed, can barely be deployed>body weight is now unbalanced, need to compensate and train just to move again>gets wiped by a localized anti-drone EMP on first post-surgery deployment>limbs stop moving because sand got in a joint>body tearing itself apart because supply lines got fucked and anti-rejection meds couldn't get to themAll of this just to function at 1-10% improvement over a regular soldier depending on the application with significantly more vulnerabilities. So basically, even if we had the ability it would be dumb and expensive. Besides, there would never be a situation where human lives are in such short supply but money, tech, and support staff are bursting at the seams to throw at something like this. Those doctors would be dead by then
>>64302905You are about half a millennium late my dear asian friend:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_hand_(prosthesis)
>>64316034Imagine her sitting on your face
>>64315797You're retarded. Your brain doesn't care if it is smacking a wall of bone or a wall of metal.
>>64319333So long as you don't try to bench press a forklift you should be fine. Just punching and grabbing(crushing)things shouldn't pose a problem. Though if you want to punch holes in concrete you'd also need a cyber shoulder.
>>64319419So you're saying we should just scoop the brain out and hook it up to a robot body?
