Atlas Engineering's pseudonymous John Galt (who I'm pretty sure is a /k/ommando, but don't hold it against him) got a new job and is back to working on his MBAR downward-ejecting bullpup rifle. >The MBAR is a self-loading service rifle, with modular components allowing it to be upgraded over time.>Unlike existing bullpup rifles, the MBAR was designed with modern ergonomics in mind:>all controls are ambidexterous and mirrored, uses the same manual of arms as the AR platform familiar to most people, and ejects casings downwards. >Costs are kept low by using as many off the shelf components as possible, notably using standard AR pattern bolts andbarrels.>This allows users to take advantage of existing barrels in various calibers with no modifications to the weapon, and allows national militaries to continue using existing logistics.>Furthermore, this rifle was designed with modern manufacturing methods in mind, many of the parts can be 3d printed. >The modular components of the rifle are the magwell, fire control group, ejection port accessory, and handguard.>These components will be open sourced, and specs will be published to encourage development and production of aftermarket accessories. >The design incorporates all features that are expected of all modern fighting rifles:>adjustable short stroke gas piston, free float handguard, a light/crisp trigger, and picatinny/MLOK accessory slots, with the goal of becoming the first bullpup rifle meeting the standards necessary for viable for widespread adoption as a service rifle.Recent TFB spotlight: https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/small-business-spotlight-atlas-engineering-44822989

Crazy to think that it still gets mogged by a 20+ year old Jewish bullpup. Womp womp.
>>64308907That LOP makes the VHS look comfortable in comparison
is the trigger pigshit? if not what is the goal of this faggot project?
>>64308907>Randroid gun
I asked you not to hold it against him guys, jesus. >>64308944It's fine, have this very rough and likely inaccurate illustration
>>64308967He seems to think that the AUG's trigger sucks. Most of the bullpups on the market now have at least decent triggers, if it's anything like the RDB or WLVRN then it's going to be great.
>>64309079What's the point? Modularity? Image makes it look like it's trying to be modular between distinctly different calibers which would require changing out the bolt and barrel minimum and likely the gas system If the only interchangable parts left are an empty shell and fcg then you might as well just buy another gun
>>64309144I think it's meant to combine the best aspects of every bullpup on the market and be more or less uncompromising. Like with the AR-15 around, all other guns and especially bullpups just feel like a novelty, and it tries to address that by being highly modular and functional. It's compatible with both small and large frame cartridges (AR-10/15) and he will upload 3D printing dimensions for it, so you can print your own furniture and the barrier to entry is really low for the aftermarket. The shell is actually really cool. It's downward ejecting, of course, but it also has an F2000-style viewing window that you can use to manipulate the action directly, picrel. He said that it's constant recoil too, which if true would be awesome now that FRTs and SSs are all the rage, if they actually worked in the gun of course. The concept seems to sound and it's probably down to the company he chooses to partner with to make it usable and ultimately reliable, if any of them actually gives him the time of day that isHe's also working on a modular MP7-style mag-in-grip PCC called the MPAC. I ironically had a dream about something just like this a few days ago.[fluff]For me though, cheesy as it might sound, it's also proof that American entrepreneurship isn't dead. This guy, who has no academic credentials in engineering or gunsmithing, is working on a great concept that most companies daren't even consider on his own time, I think that's really commendable. I think it's a shame that anons should (non-jokingly) shit on guys like him and the WA 2000 anon.[/fluff]
>>64308907I really like that bolt catch placement, especially since it manages to not compromise the mag release placement. That's the best thing about it that I can see right away. The dust cover is a nice improvement over the RDB too.
>>64308987yeah kek, you don't see that very often nowadays. he appears to be a bit of a "lone wolf" too. /k/'s very own Terry A. Davis. I understand the face censoring now.
The Senex MBLR-15 is another indie bullpup that takes AR-15 bolts and barrels. The Triad too, but that's cheating.>>64309673All the controls are symmetrical too. Ambi is a big theme in the project.
>>64309280>He's also working on a modular MP7-style mag-in-grip PCC called the MPACSource? Google didn't find anything and I really want to see how autistic it is
>>64310106Here you go saarhttps://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/small-business-spotlight-atlas-engineering-44822989>Since people asked for a PDW version of the MBAR, I also am working on the MPAC, a PDW conversion of the MBAR that us mostly 3d printable and extremely cheap, to be the 21st century's STEN. The MPAC is a MP7 format PDW with roller delay, with all the major features of the MBAR.If it has all the same features as the rifle then it'll be the first true ambi PCC, the only other one that doesn't give leftys cancer is the CX4 (which doesn't have a lefty bolt catch)
>>64310106He has a couple of videos about it on his JewTube channel. It's meant to be roller delayed and very cheap, only ~$500.
>>64308907Just get an AR LMAO>>64310131kys subhuman freak
>>64308907AR has moving stock so AR is 100x better
>>64308907>3d printed>Bullpup>Modular>Multiple caliber optionsthe four horsemen of vaporware
>>64308929good thing that it's modular and open source so can be modified at will to fit your standard of comfort!
>>64308907DO WANT
>>64310156If it's roller delayed, how does it use AR barrels and bolts?
>downward ejectingDoA
>>64310610Rdb is great shut thenfuck up
Can anyone provide screen caps? The link on the TFB article doesnt work
>>64310729>RDB is great>Turns to dust if you breathe on it
>>64308929>Crazy to think that it still gets mogged by a 20+ year old Jewish bullpup.LOL, keep dreaming. The Tavor doesn't even surpass the Desert Tech bullpups.>>64310610A good bullpup will need to have downward ejection (like the P90 and the RDB) or forward ejection (like the FN F2000 and the RFB); FN invented it, Kel-Tec popularized it, and now we wait for someone to perfect it. Ejecting off the side is just not good for a bullpup.
>>64308907I remember this fucking tool.I've seen his comment history on Reddit. He seems like an absolutely insufferable "tortured artist" fag with a pseudo-persecution complex. He got his panties in a twist after someone criticized him in some extremely small way, and made tons of "I'm taking my ball and going home!" posts when people started asking what his fucking problem was. It was a set up from jump street, hense the Atlas Shrugged ref.He literally likens himself to Ayn Rand's most famous protagonist. He presented his brilliant ideas, then started complaining the general public weren't up to his level of machining capabilities and couldn't be trusted to make it work if he shared construction details, then started claiming randos were sending him threats and disparaging comments, so he was forever denying the general public the privilege of working with his designs. JUST LIKE THE FUCKING BOOK.WHAT A COINCIDENCE.Later he started complaining no manufacturers were interested in producing his designs.I wonder why. Surely it doesn't have anything to do with him being a baby back bitch, right?(Do admit the designs are neat. Shame about the retard who created them.)>Picunrelated
>>64308926I know that feel
>>64311995It's a shame. Seems like every creative soul worth their salt is either a primadonna, borderline schizophrenic, actually schizophrenic, a troon, or a childfucker. Guess that's the price of being able to cook up neat ideas
>>64311995called it
Oh shit, I still remember the threads where was prototyping it. Glad they're keeping with it.
>>64308907halo battle rifle handle ayyyinteresting that the trigger unit has to stick out of the gun for modular reasons. Snag hazard?
>>64309280>This guy, who has no academic credentials in engineering or gunsmithing, is working on a great concept that most companies daren't even consider on his own timeshit maybe there's hope after all anons
>>64310582Apparently he wants it to use blowback AR-9 bolts and barrels, ostensibly with the rollers on a custom bolt carrier. AR-9s aren't as standardized, so it won't be as modular as his main gun. It would be cool if he/the company he'll licenses it to found a legal way of reselling CMMG radial delayed stuff.>>64312848The Triad has something similar going on. It's probably only square because it's 3D printed, normal AR-15 magwells are just as much of a snag hazard. With a bullpup, the scariest part is the big gulf between the magazine and pistol grip.>>64311995Yeah he'll have to get off this mindset if he wants to get anywhere. He was really burned out 8-6 months ago and seemed to be acting especially erratically, I hope he isn't always like that. I would really like the project to succeed and him to work on something new after this.
>>64311995Wait are you confusing Atlas Engineering with Atlas Arms or there's ANOTHER autist larping as a Ayn Rand character?
>>64312992Tard just got the Fosscad reddit banned
>>64315601What an ass. Is this the same lolcow who tried to shit up the autoguns forum?
>>64315601See, there it is. He's got this crazy fucking persecution complex/is trying to make his life mirror a shitty novel.I can guarantee you nobody has contacted him asking for anything, he's just a fucking loser.I hope someone doxes him and gets in touch with whatever shitty job he's got now so he gets cut loose again.
>>64316381I saw the video that was linked here yesterday, and today I noticed he deleted the comments of some of his haters, so I can confirm that you are right about his persecution complex.
>>64316446The really crazy thing is he states he filed patents for the design.Your name gets attached to that shit and is public. So if that's true, not only did he get a very popular subreddit for people WHO DESIGN AND PRODUCE UNTRACEABLE FIREARMS banned, he's bragging about it publicly, and shortly will be known to the world by his full, legal name. He's just really a huge moron.
>>64315601Holy shit what an absolute faggot. I thought his work was cool but I hope he doesn't get a single cent from it after this shit. What an unhinged antisocial freak.
>>64308907>Extremely short handguard, even though there's plenty of the barrel to cover up still.>Even he realizes there's nowhere to put your hand on with that stupid VFG>Trigger guard instead of full-hand guard, forcing you to use the fucking VFG>Add a system to swap out calibers before you add a system to increase or reduce length of pull.>Charging handle port so long, might have to lean off the gun entirely to operate it, or risk slamming yourself in the teeth.>Ejection port so close to shoulder, the risk of brass dropping into your PC pouches or on PC mounted gear is a real possibility. Don't wear flip flops or shorts while shooting it.Funny little gun, at least it looks comfortable enough to kill yourself with.
>>64315601I hope this fuck tard dies in a hole. Now it'll be fragmented to worse/smaller subplebbits or (may Allah forgive me) discord. The fosscad discord mod said he asked boomer-com for a life raft and they turned their nose up at the "illegality" lol
This is never coming out. The existing AR bullpup designs all seem to work well enough.
>>64315601>>64316381He was gloating about getting banned in almost every thread discussing it, what an absolute primadonna faggotBut it's also nice to know that apparently nobody ever reports these communities, because it only took one vindictive autist to bring one down
>>64317206For someone who presented himself as interested in working with others and companies, and pursuing IP rights, he seems to really be going out of his way to totally fuck all his chances of that every happening, and going further, painting a huge target for scorn and ridicule on his back.I have a feeling this is going to be a rather spectacular self-immolation.>Pic unrelated. Just an equally compelling custom rifle stock.
>>64308907>modded his gun into ready or notbasedhttps://inv.nadeko.net/watch?v=n3EB78WIsnA
>>64317563>For someone who presented himself as interested in working with others and companies, and pursuing IP rights, he seems to really be going out of his way to totally fuck all his chances of that every happening, and going further, painting a huge target for scorn and ridicule on his back.Well, the thing is that at first he was in favor of 3D printing and releasing the CAD files, but then when he was looking for a company that might buy the patent or license it, he was warned that if he released it online for free, no company would buy the patent, so then he did a 180 and took a hard anti-3D printing stance.
>>64318059>Xes a vidya modder troonEvery fucking time kek
>>64308907Hey John. Kill yourself.
>>64318800>redditYou both have to go back
>>64318805NTA, but the sharing of CAD files was done there. Anyone 3D printing guns had to use it.
>>64308907Why is every printfag a looney troon?
>>64318847The ones that aren't disappear or at least actively avoid the community, because the community is shit.
>>64318800I'm not John, I had just found out about the project and wanted to share it here, even defended the guy earlier in the thread, but learning more about his personality seriously put me off. >>64317038
