Are they gonna fuck it up?
Will it be closer to one or the other, or exactly in the middle?
Will it be supper optimized for cargo, or will it be multi-role and if so how multi?
Should they be more concerned with replacing C-130 with something truly STOL and/or more multi-role?

What multi-role should a new cargo plane be mostly? Tanker, ASW, AWACS, Missile Truck, tactical Looking Glass, para drop, troop transport, flying medivac operating room?

How about baking in an amphibious option?

There are rumors their investors are going to pull funding since it’s losing them a bunch of money. They put up a ton of sponsored articles the other day which makes me hopeful that the rumor has basis in fact

My guess is it'll be very slightly larger than the C-17. The C-5 is stupidly huge and it's hard to fill it up.

The Shahed gap article he wrote earlier this month was absolutely mind numbing. I’d be very happy if it’s true and we see fewer takes on that level.

Yep that’s the one. I get they churn out slop because people eat it but I’m never sad to see these operations fold.

because people of good repute (like you and me) are unwilling to stab them to death. It's the price we pay for our tolerance.

I'd bet they could slap a cheap Chinese knock off Sat Phone on these and get near Tomahawk accuracy, but don't, partly because random blasting is part of their strategy.

Just like cheapest S Korean or Chinese cars have basically exact same new gadgets like Lane Keeping, Robot Self Parking etc as M Benz, stuff like what makes missiles accurate is also dirt cheap and common.

>The US NEEDS to be SCRAMBLING to make 1000 mile range 100mph Shahsneeds cause... cause.. IT WORKS AGAINST MEME AIR DEFENSES OKAY
Did this troglodyte forget that we have real cruise missiles and strike platforms that can ingress JDAMS into any contested airspace a Shahsneed would have a remote chance of getting through? Not to mention we're already in the middle of procuring L3Harris Wolfpacks and Anduril Barracudas, both high subsonic spam cruise missiles in the $200-300k range to do exactly what Shahsneeds do but 10x better. Why would the US divert resources to try to outmanufacture China and still fall behind when the advantage is in tech?

Most importantly: what causes such brainrot amongst dronefags and why are they reformists reincarnate?

Great. Now use those off the shelf components in a slightly degraded and denied environment.

no worries, only reason I switched out of my olde Note 3 was I left it on top of car when drunk and didn't know WTF it flew off. Done that before but always able to find it.

At 100mph those things will be able to ground hug real good, but main thing is they cost about 1/5th of cheapest thing that could shoot them down.
>>
>>64312174
No you retard, a denied environment means EW everywhere. Consumer shit doesn't work the moment military jamming is in the mix.

Since big air fast transpo seems like about China and Pacific, they should make a big amphib at least size of C-17.

Prob with amphibs and seaplanes including WIG is there are floating logs and other shit, like barely submerged shipping containers everywhere that do major damage on take off or landing, and IIRC they had special FOB boats with nets to keep shit clear.

This French design has whiskers that do double duty as aux wings and HYDROFOILS which seems like a good idea. Going to foils would allow to slow down even more that WIG and the foils could either cut debris or brake off without major damage to hull.
>>
>>64312197
Anything seaplane related is retarded for the SCS. Second most turbulent seas in the world.

>APKWS
those are air to ground, retard, with no chance of success against smallish swerving targets

" method of engaging lightly armored point targets."

But it does point out that stuff like low speed drones can be made accurate against POINT TARGET for cheap. If USA can do it for $22,000 in 2012, then China can do it for under $200 today.

Send 100 cheap Iranian type drones, then a few more expensive and EW armored targeting drones with laser pointers.

thats drones over Blue Water
and how many missiles per drone kill?
and what is TCO of sending a Strike Eagle out on a drone hunting mission? Hint: even with the "political will" of an all hands mission to save Israel from not just USN and USAF, and SPACE FORCE, with no other conflicts to distract or soak resources or missile stocks, all American and NATO forces have fled Red Sea in fear and shame, and Houthies are maintaining a 100% successful blockage of Israel's Red Sea ports.

PS-and that was the Houthies, who aren't noted for their Industrial Capacity.

>They could hit their targets, but they choose not to
How is this stupid fucking cope still alive? You know what instills more terror than randomly bombing useless shit? Precision strikes on your enemy's critical infrastructure that visibly degrades their ability to build or fight.

>I'd bet they could slap a cheap Chinese knock off Sat Phone on these and get near Tomahawk accuracy
That's what they're doing, it just doesn't work because EW exists and is extremely effective. Just telling a missile "go to these GPS coordinates" is extremely cheap and easy. The reason Tomahawks hit their targets and Shaheds don't is because Tomawhawks have highly effective fallback guidance systems for when GPS is being jammed or spoofed.

Is a well known Slavism, from at least WW2 but probably before.

Some Soviet was discarding aiming and targeting data for artillery because "just fire everywhere, don't aim, just load".

did you know that in addition to Auto-Pilot pull out and level from dive, the Stuka had A-P swerve setting after pull out and level off, to both help jostle the pilot back from passing out, but just as important to make it harder to target while pilot was passed out?

Real easy to add Auto-Swerve on top of an Auto-Pilot that the A-P would just correct for and get back on course.

As much as I hate it they aggregate news from Twitter pretty well and are usually the first to do it.
