Actually yeah, that's not bubba to me that's trying something legitimately neat looking. May not work too good or be pointless outside of a really heavy cartridge but if offered the chance at the range to take a few shots I'd absolutely do so.

California says you can't have a pistolgrip on a semi-auto rifle that takes detachable magazines, thus people have to think up all these different cuckstocks for legal compliance.
That at least looks like an Auto Ordnance repro, so it's not an original M1A1 being befouled.

>>64312085
The door latch for the folding stock makes me giggle. What's the purpose of the string on the trigger?
>>
>>64312372
If this is a full-auto one, I understand why it's set up like that, because the original stock (and sights) fucking suck, so it'd be a way more fun gun to shoot if you could hold it in a proper way.

State mandated bubba-ing is still bubba-ing. It's nice to see the California state government protecting its citizens from 1920's bootleggers, the most pressing concern over there.

You don't have to tell me, I'm just explaining WHY the bubba'ing was done. It wasn't done because the owner thought it would make the weapon better, it was done because the owner was forced to.

If you asked every single person who ever bought one of these M1A1 repros, "Hey, wouldn't you like it better with the normal barrel length and as an ACTUAL open-bolt subgun?" every single one of them would say hell yes, but they are simply forced to settle because of the law.

That Swedish rifle's pretty much the worst candidate for a bullpup conversion. It will fart in your face with the power of a battle rifle and that dust cover has multiple parts that go "ka-chink" whenever you use the damn thing.

Werle's a german gun smith whose personal obsession were Luger pistols. He specifically developed and patented a short stroke gas blowback modification in order to convert them into proper carbines.

He also made Lugers with gates in the handle so that you could top the magazine up on the go. Don't ask why Werle did any of that - he's a german master gunsmith. They usually tend to eventually sit down and make odd stuff.

Like Oberhammer, whose name translates to "Fucking Awesome", made Mauser magazine rifle conversion with shotgun barrels.

Now this is OLD SCHOOL bubba. I can't be sure but I think this is an old ~1920s-1940s bicycle flashlight/generator lamp headlight mount repurposed to hold a 1930s-1950s (?) 2x D cell flashlight, mounted on the rifle by putting the bolt of the mount straight through the wood stock. My assumption is this is a night hunting rifle for treeing coons with a hunting dog. Either that or chicken coop fox defense but with the light being so dim, it's not like the fox will stand still very long; I think it'd easily be able to see you just behind the rifle. If you can even see the fox with that thing, lol.

I think if I lived in California/ban state, I would go with a sporter AK. They look like grandpa guns but are still an AK, and they don't look horrible. The SCR things are fugly as sin. At their best, they look like something out of Fallout 4.

>>64320882
That thing is ugly, but at least it is not the worst possible thing. If you are limited to 10 rounds, might as well make them .308/7.62. You might as well get a Garand at that point. Are you allowed to have unmolested versions of those?
>>
>>64318835
1889 magazine my friend. That being said, the milsurp of non-native rifles is really mostly a US/Canada thing and the Swiss get incredibly bored so you can find anything of theirs in some really fucky conversions.
>>
>>64321324
Only noticed earlier today when looking at /msg/ (?) on my phone when someone posted a Schmidt-Reuben. Immediately went "damn it!" as I even had a suspicion about it being that model but only searched for a K31 and K11 for some reason. Also kinda insane how common the Schmidts/K11s/K31s are in Switzerland. They have no clue how good they have it, lol. Glad I bought mine when I did, even if it was without mag; repro seems pretty solid, would never notice the difference if you didn't know.

Garand has a fixed mag and a traditional rifle stock, so they would probably be allowed on that point.
Not sure how they are about the bayonet lug though, and the fact that the Garand can take a grenade launcher, California was particularly anal about that and demanded such things be removed from any SKS.

I've shot one with and without a Lage, the slow fire kit pushing the mag forward out of the grip and extends the gun a good 10 inches, they're way more fun to shoot. Honestly uzi's are a good "get the fuck away from me" gun, but the rate of fire is awful for any practicality. The slow fire actually makes it useful.
>>
>>64321485
I have been in a bit of a spiral at least since 2023 or so and have not gone to the range in quite a bit but here are 3 of my own Swiss gals. Simpsons has them pretty frequently, I haven't seen any that are so good I must have them asap anymore, but these 3 are probably the best example of each of the later patterns.

Original Uzi has like a 600rpm cyclic rate, the Mini Uzi does about 900rpm, and the Micro Uzi does I think 1250rpm.
The regular Uzi is very easy to shoot, it's like any classic open-bolt subgun except with really good balance. The Mini Uzi is a bit more craving, but it has a fairly solid stock and forward gripping point, along with compensator cuts at the muzzle, so with some familiarity it's not that difficult to handle.

The Micro Uzi has no forward point of contact, so the Mini Uzi style stock and compensator cuts by the muzzle doesn't do that too much to help, especially not with the very high cyclic rate. The Micro Uzi is actually pretty dangerous, and realistically, you'd want to handle it like a MAC M11 and use it with a suppressor with a heat insulating wrap, so you have something to hold on to.

Yeah, but done on a kinda uncommon Auto 5. It was a Ward's Westernfield IIRC. He also added the brass band. Really torn on the result. On one hand it's neat but I can't say I've ever seen that specific Auto 5 so I feel they're probably somewhat rare. I also usually like parkerizing but the Auto 5 looks so much better blued. Better than the godawful Cerakote jobs I've seen done to some """custom""" vintage guns, though, I guess.
