I can't believe there was a time that Americans seriously believed that the AK's piston design and reciprocating charging handle were superior to the Stoner internal piston and that 7.62x39 was better than 5.56 in any way. I suppose the current battle rifle shit is even worse, but very few other than the brass have fallen for it.
