Scam Dumb Incels

bretty basic mail order education shit. The modern verison of shit they sold in the backpages of catalogs in the 90s, with "starter kits" of tools and materials and boxes of instructional VHS tapes.
It's overpriced for what it is, you can learn most of these skills more or less for free by just watching youtube vids, reading forums posts, and practicing woodworking and metalworking.
The real scam SDI pulls is that they accept the GI bill as payment, meaning they rake in big bucks from vets and their gubbermint paypigs in exchange for an "education" that isn't really worth anything.
>>
>>64319878
It's a scam designed to rip off the GI bill using veterans as the pawns to do so. SDI gets big fat tuition money in exchange for a useless degree that nobody cares about.

If you want to learn "armory" type stuff and basic gunsmithing, which is what SDI teaches, you are much better off watching youtube and doing stuff yourself. Instead of paying tuition you can put that money towards tools and materials instead. If you want to learn serious gunsmithing then either take machining and mech E courses, or get an apprenticeship at a real old-school gunmaker of which there are few in the USA.

GI bill scam, many such cases.
>>
For about every 10 people who call themselves a "gunsmith" maybe 1 will actually have any skills beyond that of ceracoting a firearm or assembling a lower receiver to an AR. Watch for the guys that can work on old Colt revolvers and make their own screws.
>>
Also, if you want to sharpen your skills as a gunsmith, I suggest buying non-functional or parts guns and make projects out of those.

Spend 2 minutes looking into this place and you find out it's a shitty scam
All those retards who fell for this shit should just work in the mines, who the hell attends a college without doing a few minutes of research?
Does a youtuber reading a script for an ad really make people turn their brains off?

You’ll honestly learn better gun smithing tricks growing up as a poor redneck. Like using a business cards to keep a AK gas tube from rattling or using stack of cleaning patches to shim a handguard on an old Chinese imported double-barrel, or using a black magic marker to cover up your Dremel marks on a front-sight/gas block, or cutting notches into a second-hand geissele barrel-nut so you can use a BCM wrench cuz the former owner fucking stripped the hole that you use to torque the nut and the retarded engineers at geissele couldn’t be bothered to engineer a more retard-proof system.

>GI bill scam!!!
Do you think veterans give a shit?
I would take $2500 a month or whatever the GI bill stipend plus housing allowance is to fuck around on the computer a few hours a week too. That's more than most entry level jobs.
It's the taxpayers ultimately being scammed, not necessarily veterans, even if they themselves are taxpayers.

here is a funny story about my encounters with sdi students:

>be gunsmith at local gun store
>guy comes in with an ar lower that he had somehow gotten the buffer retainer jammed in its hole
>says he really needs it removed without damaging the receiver because it's his final project for sdi
>retarded zoomer who was supposed to be my helper who apparently was also a sdi "graduate" explains the final for whatever course he took was just putting an ar together
>get buffer dingus removed since somehow this was the third time I'd seen it
>guy comes in the next day and picks his lower up without even asking how I did it
>know he's ngmi
>zoomer helper gets fired a few weeks later for being a fuck up

I always figure if something can be advertised by any ad revenue based faggot "content creator" then it is worth precisely negative money, not just 0

oh yeah forgot to mention when he brought it in and explained it was for his gunsmithing project I said shouldn't he be the one fixing it then? but he said no he just had to put it together normally.

Hi Othais. I agree fwiw. A gunSMITH should have at least a basic ability to manufacture a flat spring or screw by the definition of the job title they call themselves. Hell, I would take SDI more seriously if they taught them how to polish and do bluing and carding. Gun mechanic is closer to what they do by trade, but their actual skills are on par with calling yourself an IT specialist because you can properly turn on a PC. Machine skills in general are dying even for hobbyists, something like making muzzle devices on a lathe like Guy Pottery would be fun to learn.

This is retard bait. Literally nobody cares about your SDI certificate you spent tens of thousands of dollars "earning" and you'd do better going to literally any community college and taking machining and CNC classes.
If you hear about it on YouTube it's sucker bait.

Sodom Desert Institute. Set up on intent of scamming veterans out of their GI bill money.

Most “gunsmiths” don’t know shit and a lot of gun owners take their guns to a “gunsmith” to get a scope mounted on it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been picking up a transfer at an LGS and some boomer comes in to have a scope mounted on his rifle. Last time one came in with two scoped rifles and had to pay the gunsmith to swap the scopes for him like the bases weren’t already aligned, he can’t use a level, or torque the screws to like 20inchlbs himself.

Your regular SDI graduate could hopefully do things like that, but as far as being hired for actual gunsmith work goes you’d be much better served by hiring a machinist over an SDI sucker. Also, getting an education and becoming a machinist is an infinitely better idea than having SDI “teach” you basic kitchen table gunsmithing. Work for an industrial plant and get a shitload of money and buy whatever guns you want and work on them yourself.

What kind of retard can’t assemble an AR lower using a youtube tutorial? Hell, I’ve given three of my revolvers trigger jobs just using a youtube video.
>>
>>64319878
I went and now I have my own gun store. I'm losing money, can't pay the rent, can't get out of the lease, have 3 lawsuits, the ATF is investigating me, they contacted the IRS and I'm being audited, my wife left me, I'm sleeping in the store, I've been burglerized 4 times and I'm on food stamps. I think she gave me an STD, it hurts to pee.

Let me guess, you're a gunsmith now.
