Like both teams are trying to flank the other
>>
>>64321849
the russians obviously want to surround and encircle the ukranian defenders, because attrition warfare is stupid
the ukranians also dont want to just stand there, because attrition warfare is stupid, and are taking advantage of any attack having exposed flanks before it can consolidate its gains
so both the ukranians and the russians are now trying to expose those weaknesses in each others flanks without exposing their own
this is what people call war and its how people have fought war since we had sticks and stones
>>
There's probably like a 100 people tops inside the pocket and probably a few more Ukrainians trying to close it.
>>
>>64321849
The whole area is a shitshow, don't put too much stock in maps right now. Everyone's moving around at fireteam-scale to dodge the drones, so people just keep popping up in the damndest places.

>as there was barely any movement at all
1914 to 1915 were characterized by massive army movements, hence why its called the "race to the sea" which only ended when they literally ran out of space to maneuver in

1916 to 1917, despite being the height of trench warfare, wasnt very static either
the germans were retreating rather consistently throughout this time, with the somme and verdun decisively crushing any hope of a decisive german victory

the closing years of 1918 saw a high degree of mobility to return to the battllefield, and ending with a large offensive from the germans
had the war lasted any longer, you would have seen even bigger movement as the german army was pretty much at collapse and any breakthrough the allies made at this point would have swept through germany without stopping
>>
>>64322368
They may have held the Rhine. But that would still have left large areas of Germany under occupation.

Russian soldiers were so unaware that a Ukrainian basically walked right next to them and they figured he was another Russian. I chalk it up to Russian training being so bad that the average mobik doesn't know what a Ukrainian uniform looks like.
>>
>>64321849
This is actually an interesting development. Both sides have either regained enough strength for maneuver warfare (unlikely) or have degraded to the point that unsupported infantry can conduct maneuvers on their own.

If it spreads to other areas of the front you might see things kick off again like 2022.

unit insignias are often removed near the front. armbands change on a regular basis, or even just before a major operation, for the same reason one changes communications codes. this incident could have taken place before new armbands were issued

and no it's not a warcrime to wear NO insignia, or generic uniform. it's a warcrime to wear enemy insignia or enemy uniform.

>>64322838

Its ok to call them godless heretics that need to be thrown on a pyre, you're amongst friends
>>
>>64323109
>Why are they a big deal?
Immediate quantity, immense quality.

Refineries, fuel depos, oil pumping stations, etc are cool and all, but what Ukraine is starting to really want to hit are the not-so-combustible industrial sites sitting well past the Ural mountains. To do that they need something that goes far, strikes accurately and consistently, and moreover carries quite a lot of mass. Tomahawks are excellent for this.

Stuff like the Flamingo and Long Neptune fill roughly the same role, obviously, but let's not get too ahead of ourselves here. They're nice, but the Tomahawk is The Tomahawk.

Ziggers overextended their advance, got cut off by a suddne counterattack and are now trying to desperately rush in reinforcements because their propagandists REALLY do not want videos of dozens or hundreds of ziggers surrendering.

The rushing in reinforcements part is going really well for the Ukrainians btw, their drone operators are having a great time interdicting all the increased road traffic in the russian rear.

It should be noted that they've committed an additional 4 brigades and a division over the last month to the bunny-ear offense area, and as of a few days ago more-or-less the totality of their naval infantry brigades (recall the recent large-troop transfer many were speaking about recently) to try to salvage the situation.
At the moment the RU MoD's plan appears to be to throw so many bodies at the situation, so quickly, that the Ukrainian drone companies and brigades on the line don't have the resources to produce a volume of fire high enough to kill them quickly.

Which is to say, the usual RU MoD plan since 2022.

Those are the only kind they have.
They're just lining up untrained, half-starved and beaten mobiks and sending them out in small numbers to blunder past Ukie positions because there just aren't enough Ukies to be everywhere.
Then they have accidentally bypassed Ukrainian lines and report in by radio and the pidors know there's a gap and push more through it.

10 km in two weeks.
Which isn't a lot, but the only reason it isn't a lot is because russians don't have a lot of people to exploit gaps here either. If only they had a couple of relatively well equipped marine brigades to use in a shocktrooper role...
>>
>>64323461
Because such a concentration would mean Ukraine would respond in like.
Their advances are conducted on foot, motorcycle, and ATV. If they were much more than that, it would draw more attention, naturally, which isn't the point of the Dniepropetrovsk pushes at all.
>>

>10 km in two weeks.
Meanwhile in reality, this "advance" like quzite a few along the front, is basically two ziggers slipping through the lines, planting a flag in an mepty village behind the front, doing a photoshoot and then trying to get back to friendly lines again before they get hunted down and composted.

The actual smart and competent ones were raising issues with Russia's military structures and logistics for years, noting the BTGs were massively undermanned and reliant on other forces in theatre for holding territory and securing flanks while their operational capacity was short-lived without robust supply capability. They also pointed to issues with lack of institutional knowledge transfer, organizational issues and command bloat, lack of individual initiative and decision-making ability among lower levels of command, lack of morale, massive corruption and abuse issues, and a high command chosen for political reliability over experience and capability. They argue that even though they clearly laid out the issues with Russia's militaries they instead chose to ignore those deficiencies in their overall assessment of Russia because the context of actual battles plays a massive role in military efficacy, they were unable to accurately gauge just how hollowed out the Russian military had become, and because it's always better to fight an enemy that is weaker than you assumed. The midwit ones took Russia's claims at face value because it's easier and more engaging to audiences to buy into hype and now are basically saying "sorry, we didn't realize Russia was that big a fuckup." And the bottom-tier ones are claiming 5D chess and waiting for the REAL Russian military to arrive.

There was a point in time when Bond writers attempted to be half-way serious about their action spy films.

Another factor that is missed by modern audiences is how radically sexual the Sean Connery films were for their time.
Case in point; before Dr. No, most Americans weren't even aware of bikinis existing as a concept, much less seeing them on the big screen at the local cinema.
>>
>>64324058
>Case in point; before Dr. No, most Americans weren't even aware of bikinis existing as a concept, much less seeing them on the big screen at the local cinema.
I have my doubts, the introduction of the bikini six years before the movie made quite a splash in the news. "...articles about the event were widely carried by the press. The International Herald Tribune alone ran nine stories on the event." It isn't for nothing that it's the name bikini that stuck, and not atomé.
>>
>>64324049
>That'd be fine if /pol/niggers werent a bunch of emotional women that shitup everywhere they go
You know, I don't subscribe to the theory that /pol/ is entirely thirdies railing against the west while pretending (mostly to themselves) that they're part of it.
Which is not to say that I don't agree that /pol/ are thirdies.

/pol/ itself is made up of western losers for the most part, wannabe klan who want to hang niggers like grand-pappy did when geemaw looked at them for too long, incel PUAHate rejects, /fit/izens swallowing MRA grifter dogma and every shade of cults of the rejected.
But it's shit.
We know it's shit.
They know it's shit as well, which is why, they flee it for other boards.

Like your average thirdie, they want to make it to the first world where this is prosperity and freedom, in this case, the occasional rational conversation and people with half a clue, mixed in with constant shit-posting of course.
They seek this like it's the promised land but of course they bring /pol/ with them and try to colonise this place as /pol/.
If they succeeded, they'd just have made /k/ into a board that they'd need to flee from again and the cycle would continue anew.

They understand how shit /pol/ is which is why they flee it but they're unable to see that they're the reason /pol/ is so shit. So they unconsciously bring their nemesis with them wherever they go and can never escape from it.

Then again, if they'd kept to realistic technology (and protocols around technology), the second half of the movie wouldn't have happened.

Not the message they were looking for from the whitehouse I don't think.

It's easier when you b& the Russian-owned parties and expose half the ROC as literally paid agents with fucking Russian bank cards in their names to prove it.

Exactly what happened in Bakhmut, and Adviika, and every other obstacle they've run across. Send wave after wave of meat to their deaths, try and pinpoint defensive positions, reduce those to rubble, send in a few trained units to take that rubble, and repeat at a cost of 8-10k casualties per sq km. EVENTUALLY it works, in the sense that they'll be able to plant their rag over a corpse choked pile of burning rubble with no continued value, but it takes time which is something they're running out of.

This
They often don't even a clear worldview, rather ready to jump on anything that will get them a feeling of belonging in a group

>They understand how shit /pol/ is which is why they flee it but they're unable to see that they're the reason /pol/ is so shit. So they unconsciously bring their nemesis with them wherever they go and can never escape from it.
It's even worse, since they come in through /pol/ which is full of shills, shizos and bots, they start emulating their behavior (kinda like puffins imitating the dummies placed on islands to reintroduce them there) which make them even dumber
They also believe that since "4chan is /pol/" in their mind, they don't have to lurk on other boards which makes them stick out even more

You're right that they probably don't exist anymore in a American or Western European context, but they definitely do still exist in some parts of Eastern Europe.
The entire schtick of the pro-Russia parties that lost the Moldovan election today is that "Moldova shouldn't choose sides! We should be friends with both Russia and Europe!"
Which is clearly a facetious position, but oh well.

Russian culture is centered around churkas. They have holidays for churkas. They killed hundreds of thousands of russian men to free churkas. They listen to churka music. Their most famous leader was a churka. They dress and act like churkas. They draw the entirety of their modern culture from churkas. They post sassy gifs about churkas. They watch UFC in worship of churkas. Their biggest event of the year involves throwing parties in honor of churkas playing sports. They use churka slang like "Akhmat Sila" and "Chechnya Kruto". When you say "man of steel" they're not thinking of the superhero. They're thinking of the churka schizo. Their cities are completely overrun with churkas. They worship their corrupt marxist ZOGbot police force disproportionately filled with churkas and their global police force of soldiers filled with churkas. Their men sit around watching churka MMA while their women sit around with churkas watching churka tik-tok videos. They worship churkas like Ramzan Kadyrov, Shota Arveladze, Zurab Azmaiparashvili, Ioseb Jughashvili and the late Nikoloz Cholokashvili while attacking the russians who actually built their country before churkas took over. Their movies are filled with churkas and their music charts are topped by churkas. They send churkas to kill europeans and celebrate when the churkas lose because those churkas are true red blooded russian churkas. They watch churka porn to a point where "BAC" does not make them think of blood alcohol content (which is usually off the charts) but about Azerbaijani penises instead. They will tell you how much they hate churkas and how the Ivan’s law meme is a stale joke and they are just pretending to love churkas but the evidence speaks for itself in that russia has always been and will be a nation of churka loving churkas.
