Ukrainians move so fucking slow and methodically and whenever they need to transfer quickly from trench to trench what always gets them killed is not the weapon weight but the gorillion pounds of armor plates they decided to carry. Rifles no matter how overbuilt are just such a tiny meaningless percentage of a soldier's kit reducing mobility. I almost fucking never see those guys using guns like SMGs, 99% of the time they are going PLEWF PLEWF PLEWF PLEWF at specks 500 meters away and when they actually GET to a fortification they just spam grenades because when they run in with a carbine they just get mowed down every time.I think the average person dickrides light guns too much. I don't think it matters that the XM7 is heavy at all (though having a barrel with no accuracy that burns out immediately is). Just saying

The concept of choosing a more powerful cartridge than 5.56 was sound; the execution that led to adopting a 6 MOA rifle was the problem.
