The firepower comes from MG, it can suppress for other squads to maneuver, riflemen are just there to escort the MG, the AT prevents them from being overrun by armor, looks fine

Isn't the APC gunner supposed to provide the "fire" element in this scenario? If you encounter a dismounted infantry ambush along a jungle road, are they expected to charge the enemy positions, or just hang back and fire PG-7Vs wildly into the treeline?

Given that the STV-380 is a deliberate downgrade from the Galil Ace and optics are nonexistent in the Vietnamese military, soldiers actually prefer the AKM/Type 56 because the new platform sucks, and even if it wasn't defective there would still be no decisive advantage in practice except maybe the sights.
