What should I do in regards to the romanian armed forces reserves? remain a civilian? Be a volunteer conscript? Or be a long term romanian reservist?Basically all this started with me thinking about joining the army for the past 2 years or atleast volunteering for conscription so that I can get on how to use an ak if not a pistol and a knife. However just being a volunteer conscript comes with the downside of being registered with the army, so when war breaks out I am first to the frontline as I'm a simple private probably trained only in infantry. So if it does come to that, why shouldnt I become a reservist? You have 4 options to join the romanian armed forces reserves:Grunt, NCO, warrant officer and officer.Grunt you need 8th grade education, NCO uni entrace exam, warrant officer trade-master school and officer university. As a volunteer conscript you get 600usd a month for the 3-4 month training period. As a reservist you get 30% of your rank pay and the entirety of your "unit position" pay for when you are not "active" or outside the 15 days a year where you do instruction.During your reservist training you either get the same 600usd a month sum or less the higher you go up the hierarchy from grunt to officer. It isn't clear and not even military recruiters know for sure.1/2
2/2My goal if I join the reserves is to reach a high rank of officer. At the moment, after looking at all the loopholes, the way forward seems to first become a volunteer conscript, then using my university entrance exam become some sort of nco or using my electrical technician accrediation to become a warrant officer and after I do my 4 years in maritime uni for EE I will try to use it to become a reserve officer while at the same time I get into the merchant navy and make bank. After this I intend to go after a bachelors and masters in ME to become a chief engineer. That way I get a bunch of money, and I also get trained on how to use an ak and a pistol potentially also a knife besides priceless knowledge on how to be a grunt, nco/warrant officer and an officer.Or should I skip it all together and remain being a civilian in case of war?

>>64348167>I hope you're posting this question in other places too, in the hopes thay somebody somewhere will be able to assist.I am but I have actually received more information about the modern romanian military from foreigners than from fellow "romanians".When I asked this in forums dedicated for romanians I was cussed out by a bunch of incoherent people who wrote in almost unintelligible romanian with no punctuation and mostly in ALL CAPS.My post constantly reported by 15 different IPs according to the admin for more than 12 hours so they had to shut it down for them to not get spammed with emails. I was told this as an apology.I do not fucking know why this happened or why fellow "romanian" "nationalists" wanted to vote for a gypsy president who wanted to bring over "indians" especially "discriminated dalits" as they're "our brothers". If I wanted to be a Prepared Citizen™ would joining the military be a legitimately good way to gain more experience with guns and tactics and general knowledge? Would National Guard be a better/safer alternative? Also how hard would it be to make a career out of being in the military? I know a relatively older dude, 50 something who recently got out. I dont really have anything going for me because fuck college, so I was wondering how realistic it is to stay in that long.
>>64352184Do you have moral issues with working for an international criminal empire?
There are claims that the military is too top heavy on the enlisted side. I thought a lot of NCOs would be a good thing, is this not a reality?
>>64346290lmaoPeople get picked up with a second class and are fine. Are you even an officer? Have you ever attended any service's officer accessions program?
>>64352380Nope, just another enlisted crab in his bucket.
>>64352216Not necessarily
>>64352361On the Army side, a lot of people end up riding out their last years to retirement as MSGs, usually in some brigade S3 shop or random staff office where they don't need to do a whole lot. The problem is that there's a cap on the amount of people who can be promoted to that grade and the grade below it, which means at a certain point your promotion chances depend at least somewhat on the people above you retiring and freeing up a slot. HRC is taking steps to fix this but it will be years before it changes anything, if it works.
>>64352387Crabs don't naturally appear in buckets. Who put them in there!
>>64352403Then you're perfect for the US military! Literally the only real requirement is a lack of morality.
>>64352184>If I wanted to be a Prepared Citizen™ would joining the military be a legitimately good way to gain more experience with guns and tactics and general knowledge? Depends on branch and MOS plus whatever unit you go to, and regardless of that your prescribed duties will never be to just become a Prepared Citizen or whatever. A SERE instructor or RSLC graduate is better equipped for that kind of thing than a supply specialist, but none of them train to operate alone or as part of a citizen militia. >Would National Guard be a better/safer alternative? What do you mean? You would spend one weekend a month* doing your job rather than doing it full time, except when deployed or otherwise on active orders. >Also how hard would it be to make a career out of being in the military? It's not hard, per se, but there's a good reason only 10-20% of those who initially join actually end up retiring from the service. You might discover that you hate some aspect of the military that you didn't know about before you got in. You might enjoy being a Joe or junior officer and then become an NCO or pin CPT and suddenly discover that the rest of your career from that point onwards will focus more on administration and management and planning than actually doing the thing you signed up to do. You might just not perform well enough to make the promotion cutoffs to stay in to 20 (almost impossible as enlisted but very possible as an officer due to the competitive promotions to O-4 and O-5). Your family situation might make getting out before 20 a better choice than staying in. There's no guarantee any of these things will happen, but they are very real things that prevent people from retiring, and worth thinking about if you're thinking about trying to make a career out of it.

>>64352873Hi Dirlewangerfag. Looks like the gang's all here!
What the fuck is wrong with the army.I'm in the airforce, and as always, with any large group of people the vast majority of them are good people. In the case of the airforce you might once in a blue moon encounter an antagonistic low impulse control type of person, but it's very rare.Enter the fucking army.Any group of them, there's always one or two guys who state they joined so they can kill people, who can't shut up about genz being too soft and hurting people's feelings, dropping racist jokes, committing battery every few hours, and getting in trouble for disciplinary issues. Obviously the vast majority of any army group consists of good people, but in the army, there's a guarantee that there's a few fuckheads in there. This doesn't even occur in the Marines.
>>64353219They're literally hired killers lol
>>64353259Yeah. The bad apples represent the fucking felon low IQ types of hired killers, whom if they had like 5 less IQ points they'd probably just be additional numbers in the prison population. I've known Navy SEALs, which come across as the professional, disciplined and intelligent type A types, nowhere like the bad apples you can pick out of any army formation.
>>64353292Yeah, some people are better at hiding the monstrous violence inside of them.
>>64353219You seem like the kind of guy who complains about having to run 2 miles instead of 1.5 for the PT test.
>>64353305Well I just ran 6 miles this morning so that's not the case. But when you see an army guy committing assault every few hours, and straight up antagonizing people who aren't bothering them, and needing to report to authority figures, and hear about army guys committing rape, you start to see a pattern. Or you see army guys being unnecessarily disruptive during work. Meanwhile every other branch, especially the air force, just does whatever they need to do, puffs their vape or does their pushups or whatever, and then fucks off.
>>64353343What I'm hearing is that Army chads do whatever they want at your workplace and you're powerless to do anything about it.

what do you actually do if you are combat arms during peacetime? like if you were infantry or artillery or something, where do they send you? are you just training over and over? sitting around guarding nothing?it seems like a gay time to enlist.
Which service should I join? Which job? This is me btw.
>>64354228It’s a gay time to enlist in a role that only does its job during wartime. Don’t be a retard and pick a role that has professional relevance outside of the military.
>>64349167Rip my guy, insist it was just a joke but gl
>>64354228Training and deploying to non-combat operations, mostly to train with foreign partners. At your home station you'll train on individual and collective tasks (ex. go to the rifle range, practice battle drills, do a platoon live fire, do land nav, etc), attend military schools (whatever your local troop schools has, air assault if you're on a post that has it, etc), and possibly TDY to other duty stations to do other schools (ranger, RSLC, etc). Your unit will TDY to other duty stations for large-scale collective training and certification (ex. NTC, JRTC, JMRC, JPMC or whatever the one in Hawaii is called, possibly KCTC if in Korea, etc) prior to deploying anywhere... or just because they're on the rotation to go. When deployed you'll likely conduct similar training activity as at home station unless your unit has a specific mission to support (ex. you might deploy to Poland to bolster eastern NATO defenses but in practice that just means doing training and shit while in Poland, unless they task your unit with specifically doing something with the Polish military or NATO command). Does this suck compared to "real" war? YMMV. The OPTEMPO isn't that much different, especially if you're in an ABCT, but you might feel a lot like a professional athlete who trained all season just to be a benchwarmer, considering the chances of seeing "real" war again are hard to quantify. Regardless of whether it's real or not, separation from family can be a huge stressor for soldiers, and the feeling of pointlessness can exacerbate that stress for some. On the flip side, instead of potentially dying or watching buddies die in IED attacks and ambushes or fighting in a bloody LSCO scenario, you're basically just chilling.
>>64349167No! Just a bit longer and you could have been one of those shit bags that gets dropped from basic into a mental hospital. Then you could still be a "veteran" and get va benefits.

It depends on the service... The whole point of that is so in peacetime perishable combat skills aren't entirely lost. Also, its better to go into a conflict with an above baseline level of proficiency than it is straight out of training.

Maybe it would suck if you don't get along with the guys in your company, or if you can't manage to clean your room. I don't have any pics of just the rooms by themselves, but just imagine the walls being made of painted cinder blocks, linoleum floors, or a cheap carpet, and A/C that works intermittently. If you're in the military and single, just know you'll most likely live in the barracks for the first enlistment. In most cases you will be rate a housing stipend that will enable you to leave by the time you make E-5. But again, it could be worse, you could be in a fighting hole, a squad bay or tent in the middle of the desert/mountains/jungle.

The only real reason why you'd want to move out is if you just stay locked in your room the whole time, or are too weak to make your bed and clean your floors once a week.

>>64359364>trying to enlist in the Air Force as prior serviceYeah. For the Airforce being prior service is seen as a negative. You could still probably make it if you wait long enough/try hard enough, but why? They're a bunch of squares. If you're gonna join the USAF at least try to commission.
>>64358730Yep, I have been hearing about the impeding invasion of Iran since 2016. Still waiting on that one.
>>64359441I do have a college degree in STEM with a good GPA so that is an option I can take, but I’m trying to enlist because I am trying to get out of a crappy job environment on a dead end career field as soon as possible and commissioning takes a while. Seeing as the slots for prior service usually only go to ~200 at most, I will have to wait a while and maybe longer than the recruiter is willing to wait. I really do not want to go back to the Army. Do you know how I can sell myself to the waiver board so they can let me join?
>>64359553A bit of a wait to commission now is better than signing an enlistment contract right away. 4 years is a long time, especially if you could spend it as an officer with vastly higher quality of life rather than middle enlisted.

How hard is it to get a Option 40 contract for the ArmyI would like to get a shot at Ranger Regiment as a infantryman and hopefully use that as a stepping stone towards SFI am aware 18X contracts exist and would perhaps be the better option as my ultimate goal is SF (and from what I have heard 18X has better pass rates at about 15% versus about 8% pass for 11X OP40)But the direct action and other skills learned from Ranger Regiment along with the culture of being squared away and kept to a high standard of fitness seem invaluable aswell as the high deployment tempo which I hope would look good on a "resume" and all come together to help me actually be selected after passing SFAS (I have heard it's not uncommon for 18X to not be selected even after passing due to "lack of experience")My recruiter has been telling me that 11 series OP40 (and even OP4 guaranteed Airborne) contracts are very rarely available and he has not seen either one in awhile although he is able to get me a 18X contractHe has suggested that I should sign a basic 11 series contract and i will "simply" be able to talk to a SOF recruiter immediately after passing AIT and volunteer for both Airborne School aswell as RASP I am not sure how "simple" or "guaranteed" just going to RASP or even becoming Airborne without having it written into my contract will be and I am worried about getting railroaded into spending my whole contract as a 11C or something that I don't want and never getting a chance to do the things I'm looking to doShould I just wait for early next year and hope slots open up for me to jump on?Should I take his advice and enlist as 11X and just cross my fingers that I will end up 11B and be able to volunteer for Airborne and RASP?I am kind of lost for how to proceed from here>What doFor reference I am 26 my ASVAB score is 95 and I am decently physically fit (at the level required for combat MOS but definitely not yet "Ranger Ready" although I am improving every week)

I've never seen anyone who came in planning to become a Ranger then a Green Beret then a SEAL then join Delta Force or whatever actually make it through half of their "plan." Pick one thing and focus on it so that when shit gets tough you don't start getting second thoughts and imagining alternate routes to that other thing you want. Besides all that, Rangers generally don't look kindly on people who only want to use their organization as a "stepping stone.">I am aware 18X contracts exist and would perhaps be the better option as my ultimate goal is SF (and from what I have heard 18X has better pass rates at about 15% versus about 8% pass for 11X OP40)Those pass rates take everyone who signs that contract into account, including the fucking retards and fatbodies who had no business doing so. Either way, why are you looking at that shit and thinking it means you yourself only have a 10% chance of passing whatever? >But the direct action and other skills learned from Ranger Regiment along with the culture of being squared away and kept to a high standard of fitness seem invaluable aswell as the high deployment tempo which I hope would look good on a "resume"Giant meme. People don't get selected at SFAS because they're retards or assholes, not because they don't have any experience. 18X exists for a reason, they're totally fine with people who have no experience as long as they can hack it and fit in to a team. Also no one is deploying very much these days, including SF and Rangers, just doing JCETs and shit. >everything else in the post11Cs can do RASP. If it's not in your contract it's not guaranteed. Check out the book "Get Selected for Special Forces" sometime, PT until you can easily far exceed the standards, and just pick one thing and go for it instead of building a huge convoluted plan.
>>64360208I don't think my plan is very convoluted it is only two steps (although large steps) qualify for and join Ranger Regiment and a few years later qualify for and join the Green Berets I don't have huge plans to try for 75th and SF and CAG and NSW and PJ and ISA and etc as you are making it seemi have heard the pipeline of Ranger to SF is fairly common although yes from what I understand Ranger Regiment looks down on using them as a stepping stone towards anything other then CAGI don't think the pass rates mean I only have a X% chance of passingI just recognize that generally they are difficult courses to pass especially considering both RASP and SFAS take place after OSUT training and still have a high failure rateMy point was more to make it clear that I recognize i cannot just "waltz on in" to either course and expect to pass and that I do not expect RASP to be "easier" then SFAS Non selection for lack of experience being a meme or not I still believe the skills and standards learned as a Ranger would be invaluable in my life and my military careerThey are the premier Light Infantry and Airborne force on the planet and spending any amount of time around and apart of people like that would be worth it's weight in goldI will check out the book as I am doing alot of reading recently on things like thisI am doing PT nearly everyday to prepare as I want to enter basic theoretically able to pass RASP or SFAS immediately And I am picking one thing as I am essentially set on my goal to become a RangerAgain my only stumble in the road is securing a Option 40 contract and figuring out how difficult(impossible?) that actually is / how difficult it would be to apply for RASP after OSUT without that option in my contractThat is why I am asking for advice on what to do as I have noone to talk about these things with besides my recruiter who is very busy and I can only trust so muchJust theories in my own head from reading I have done
>>64360263If you want to be SF cant you just apply for that
>>64360263Bro I'm not reading alla that. If you wanna be a ranger so bad just tell your recruiter you're not signing anything but an 11x option 40 and have him call you when one opens. Or if you wanna be SF so bad just sign an 18x and be done with it. Pick one thing and stick to it.
>>64360271Yes I could enter with a 18X contract (which my recruiter says is currently and easily available) but again I worry about missing out on valuable skills and standards only available to learn from Ranger Regiment aswell as high operational tempo giving real world deployment experience I don't think what I'm saying is crazy From what I understand it is fairly common to join as a Ranger and transition to SF>>64360272>TLDRyou wrote a long response to me so I figured I would write one back addressing the things you had saidIt's difficult to not have anyone to talk about these things with besides ChatGPTReading between the lines I guess you are saying it would be very difficult to volunteer for RASP after AIT without a contract guaranteeI guess I will draw a line in the sand with my recruiter thenI would still appreciate information on how common it is to actually get a OP40 though as my recruiter says they are extremely rare and almost non existent If that is the case i will have to reevaluate things
>>64360302>missing out on [...]You don't need any of that to pass SFAS. They're looking for people who can exceed their standards and work well on teams, not people with 10 prior deployments. if you're trying to become the perfect candidate you're just going to spend years chasing other random bullshit instead of just... going to SFAS and getting selected. Alternatively, forget about SFAS. Focus on RASP (and more difficultly, the first year in Regiment). You might not even like being in SOF, so why worry about getting into not just one but two different SOF units?>From what I understand it is fairly common to join as a Ranger and transition to SFit is not>Reading between the lines I guess you are saying it would be very difficult to volunteer for RASP after AIT without a contract guaranteeIt's not "very difficult," it's just not guaranteed. You might get a chance to meet with the Ranger recruiters at OSUT and you might not. Whether you're willing to risk it or not is up to you. You can drop a packet for RASP at your unit, but you will need to spend a bit of time there before you can go and you will need your chain of command's approval. A PFC in my unit is doing that right now, and he just got here a few months ago. Again, whether that's the route you wanna go is up to you.>I would still appreciate information on how common it is to actually get a OP40 though as my recruiter says they are extremely rare and almost non existent He's kinda bullshitting you and kinda just being lazy. The slots exist but people snap them up fast and it's extra work on his end to secure one as he has to watch for them in the system and lock one in before someone else does. The new fiscal year just started so there should be hella slots open for everything, but the government is also currently shut down so there might be issues with displaying or updating open slots in the system.
>>64360038I spoke with an Air Force recruiter last week. He said that there is a 2 year waiting list to get into the Space Force and they are no longer doing ISTs
>>64360302Pick one or the other. Then train for it.
i turned 29 recently. i'm a software dev. my younger brother is shipping off as a 35N soon.i've got a comfortable job but part of me is genuinely considering maybe going into the guard. i don't know if it's talking to my brother about his plans but the idea of doing something different than just sitting around an office all day is really appealing. is it retarded? would it be retarded to do it just for the fuck of it? i've got a wife but no kids yet. i wouldn't go AD-- it's not worth giving up my job. but i feel like if i don't do this in the next year or two, i'd never do it and maybe it would be worth it while i have the chance.what do you think? just forget it and keep grinding my day job?
I was on a very low dose of anxiety meds for some mild anxiety for roughly ten years. Just got off them about 6 months ago, and Ive been fine and even feel better in many ways. Am I cooked or can I still attempt to become an intelligence officer in the Air Force (Ive had issues breaking into intel as a civilian despite my degree).
>>64361295genesis opt out + keep mouth quiet
>>64361479lying is a sin, shitbag
>>64361479I dunno it seems like a very bad idea to lie to Air Force Intelligence.
Raw curiosity here: is Hegseth's behavior good or bad for enlistment at this juncture? Is he attracting larger numbers of recruits, or turning people away? And, even if he is bringing in more recruits, is he bolstering retention, or causing more people to flake? I would've expected that someone that spent so much time and energy trying to legitimize the Iraq war would be a turnoff for potential recruits in 2025, but I'd also heard recruitment was up earlier this year. I do NOT want to talk politics, I am purely interested in how the U.S. military's recruitment and retention is being affected by an extremely visible, public-facing, and contentious secretary of war, who has loud of opinions and isn't afraid to piss people off. Please do not respond with essays about why he is Hitler or how he is Patton 2.0 or whatever the fuck.
>>64361488So why do you lie about your service?
>>64361654Hegseth won’t be in his position for very long, so making decisions based upon him is foolish. Dude is a blowhard and a retarded loser. I expect the next person to be much better
>>64361295Be truthful and try getting a waiver. The Navy will probably waive you. At least for aviation the services are pretty clear for what conditions they will waive for and what are automatically disqualifying. Not sure about intel, but I'm sure there is a similar pub for the intel community. >>64361654I think he's kind of a diva, but in the long run I think cracking down on standards is good for morale and will attract more recruits and retain people. A lot of people joined (at least I did) the service for an experience that cannot be found in the civilian side, with the acceptance of a "harder" lifestyle. I feel second hand embarrassment when I see servicemen and women in uniform out in town or online making fools of themselves in some tiktok rant, publicity stunt, or in general appearing unprofessional with how they wear the uniform. I think how we've gone out of our way to try to accommodate for type shit we would have laughed at that was seen on Tumblr 10+ years ago. I may be projecting how I feel and that this will crater recruitment, retention and morale though, but IIRC recruiting goals were met in all the services the last quarter or two. If these changes are implemented properly, then hopefully the military will continue to aim to be a proper meritocracy, I know this has never been 100% the case, but it gets pretty close, if not then I suspect people will be more polarized and whatever policies are implemented will be reversed in the next admin, what I'm saying is the reform needs to implemented on the right subject.
>>64361506The guy you're replying to is a sociopathic troll who got drummed out of the Army for going to his CO during basic and asking if he can form his own special war crimes unit to kill civilians.
>>64361730The good news is that Hegseth says he's not going to punish warcrimes, so Dirlewangerfag / Texasfag / Robert / The Antirobert (all the same guy) has a shot at re-enlistment.
>>64361782Seriously?
>>64361789>Hegseth has long been deeply skeptical of war crimes investigations and has advocated for President Donald Trump to pardon or grant clemency to at least three service members accused of war crimes since 2019. In his remarks on Tuesday, Hegseth appeared to criticize a retired US Army general — Peter Chiarelli — who formally reprimanded Hegseth’s former brigade commander in 2007. The commander, Michael Steele, had been accused of issuing improper orders to his soldiers that led to the deaths of unarmed Iraqis.
>>64361782I mean he isn't the one in charge of processing warcrimes so that is kind of a retarded statement.
>>64361829>“We unleash overwhelming and punishing violence on the enemy,” Hegseth said. “We also don’t fight with stupid rules of engagement. We untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt and kill the enemies of our country. No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement.”
>>64361782>>64361789>>64361809Oh right, heard about this from my vetfag cousin. He knew Leigh Hester, so when he heard about Hegseth whining about her in his book, he did a deep dive - supposedly his brigade called themselves Kill Company, and after he left they turned loose three Iraqi detainees and gunned them down in the back. I have met freaks that are attracted to military service because they crave that kind of violence, and I genuinely can't tell if encouraging that is going to backfire or bolster recruitment. Cousin is kind of a libtard though so I'm not sure how true that story is, I never double-checked.
>>64361730Yeah I'm not gonna lie. I want a career in the fed and lying would utterly fuck that. Is there a separate recruiter for officers or do they just mix that all into the general recruiter? I've never been a huge military buff so I'm not too sure how this stuff works.
>>64361935>I want a career in the fed
>>64361935Yeah there are separate officer recruiters from enlisted recruiters. A decent enlisted recruiter will forward you t the nearest available O recruiter, but I've heard stories of them trying to get you to enlist instead of commission. I commissioned while still AD so I have no actual interactions with O recruiters or with that process.
>>64361984>AD>Ocan you please stop using gay ass abbreviations so us neverserveds can follow the conversation?

>>64362065Yeah it wasn't intentional. If you do something long enough it becomes normal. If you referred to an acronym in another thread like MOA or jargon like milsurp the average person isn't going to get that either. Figure it out.

Would I be able to become a green beret? I am in decent shape and competent, but I am sort of a square and not exactly charismatic. The sf recruiter told me that I just have to be mature and professional, which I am, but someone else told me that I need to be a dude bro to get through their peer evaluations, but I certainly am not
>>64353219Because the army has the lowest bar set in the military. It legitimately is the worst branch.
>>64362630No
Ive made up my mind that im going to ets when my contract is up. Why does my leadership keep insisting I go to the promotion boards giving me negative counselings for not doing stupid jko classes for "muh points."
>>64361654If kids get the cliff notes on the MFRs, I think it'll be a good thing for recruitment. Like 80% of the shit in the MFRs is stuff that most military members who aren't shitbags have been asking for.If someone just watches his speeches and doesn't do research, like how I imagine most people looking to enlist do things, I think it would hurt recruitment. His speeches make him come off as an insecure right winger rather than an apolitical veteran who only cares about winning wars.It is worth mentioning that the Heritage Foundation wrote those MFRs, not Hegseth and his team.
>>64362828When the US military is occupying American cities and going full Falujah on regular citizens, I will be grateful that the men doing the killing are in top physical condition.
>>64361654Recruitment levels are only up because the economy is bad, wages are stagnant, and the military is legitimately the only way for huge swaths of people to get ahead anymore. Plus, they lowered standards to abysmal levels to get every fat kid, tranny, or dumb black with a 6 on the asvab get in.

>>64360846>i wouldn't go AD-- it's not worth giving up my job.USERRA protects your job for 5 years, so enough for a full AD tour, plus RSUs etc keep vesting the whole time. The bigger downside is that location is a gamble with AD and some MOS's can't be guaranteed, like signing for 11X vs 11B, whereas NG can.I did it and say do a one-and-done tour. Pick a branch and mos/rating that does something in peacetime besides training.

Read the SF86 linked in the OP, it lists literally everything the clearance adjudicators care about.>>64363691I would note that while USERRA protects your job, employers can and will look for reasons to fuck you over if they think it will help their bottom line. Even being in the Guard or Reserves can stress your "real" job, especially if you deploy or go on orders, no matter how illegal it is to discriminate against you for that.
>>64364343>>64363691>employers can and will look for reasons to fuck you overyeah that's my concern. plus the damage of just giving away three years of work experience is something i really can't get back. i get that you can still be called up for reserve/ng especially if you're infantry. it wouldn't be so bad to be away from work for a couple months but it would be pretty bad to be away for years. which is why i was looking at ng / reserves
>>64364965My honest recommendation? Don't join up just because of vague dissatisfaction with working in an office. Your brother is gonna be working in an office too, just wearing a uniform. If you don't have a clear reason to join, tied to a specific goal or outcome, then don't do it. Otherwise you risk putting yourself in a bad situation that stresses your family and career just to scratch a nebulous itch for an image of military service that might have little to do with reality.

>>64366193There's a big difference between "dont join bro uhhhh the government will inject you with super aids and at boot camp youll get tied up and fat black women will twerk over you while you recite anti white propaganda" and "don't strain your family and established career just because you fantasized about being in the military once." If anon wants to join it's his life, I just don't want anyone to sign on the dotted line for dumb reasons or out of a fit of passion that will only lead to disillusionment and disappointment when real military service is not very much like the idealized image that led to signing up in the first place.
