SU-57 Timeline: Russia’s Answer to the F-22 or a Failed Project?https://youtu.be/HZ1sRlpiXPQ
>>64346729It's a pretty incompetent design compared to the Chinese VLO designs. Rafael-tier.
how can SU57 fail if no exist?
>>64346766Algeria is getting some in few weeks.
>>64346778Even sooner. I was hearing something like two more weeks.
>>64346827It was officially confirmed by both parties including the FSMTC, the pilots are currently undergoing training in Russia
>>64346859Su-35s were promised to the Iranians years ago and those cucks haven't seen one yet. They keep getting shot down over Ukraine somehow.
>>64346778I might be so embarrassed by that fact that I wouldn't even list it as an operator on the Wikipedia page.
>>64346743>That will teech you to bloody gang rape multiple woman on bus, saars! Now go home!
>>64346729Su-57 production is downright artisanal to begin with. Couple that with the fact that funding and manpower has been redirected to Su-35 production since 2022; the Su-57 is a dead project.
>>64346866The Su-35s went to Algeria at the end of the day because of the Su-57 delay, just like the Su-34the US blocked the sale to Iran/Egypt for obvious reasons. >>64346867It's on the arabic/french wiki page, since it's officially confirmed https://x.com/DWatsonfdz/status/1932431616942440698
>>64346729>F-22 stopped production a decade ago>There are still 18x more flying F-22s than Su-57s>Ziggeria can't even mass produce a non-Soviet 4th gen fighter on its ownI dunno pidor, you tell me.
>>64346977Yeah the SU-27/MiG-29 designs are the only things they have
>>64346766>failed project>how is it a failed project when it failed?wut?
>>64347056Is the Su-35 to the Su-27 what the MiG-31 is to the MiG-25?
>>64346896>the US blocked the saleThe US blocked a russian aircraft sale?
>>64347102Egypt receives 2 billions/year from the US for their military, they can't break CAATSA https://www.aa.com.tr/en/energy/general/pompeo-egypt-would-face-sanctions-over-russian-su-35s/25091
>>64347089Kinda, but not really. More like Su-27 was the F-18A, the Su-35 is the Super Hornet.
>>64347117You're thinking of the MiG-29
>>64347133No, you fucking retard. Were do idiots like you come from?
>>64347159>hurr durr what are the LPI and LPFI and how do I spell where
>>64347174Your still wrong, moran.
>>64347111Okay. And Iran?
>>64346879They asked the cop to make change for the bribe they were giving him.
>>64347224You'd think the US would want Iran to get Su-57s because they want to go to war with them. Imagine a confirmed F-35 vs SU-57 kill in Iran, this forum would be coooming for months on end.
>>64347133I thought the MIG-29 was the F16 equivalent.
>>64346729It's effective failure has been a definitive resolution now, within the conventional wisdom.
>>64346866>Su-35s were promised to the Iranians years ago and those cucks haven't seen one yet.Recently, it's been rumored that Russia has given Iran some "temporary" SU-35s that are on loan while Iran sorts out its gutted air defence issues
>>64346766why russians even have car?
>>64349098>"Tzar, where road?" >"This is a provocation." How is Russia a real country even?
>>64347111The national talent of the Egyptians for leaching off superpowers leaves me in awe.
>>64346729I'll reply to the video with another videohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6skqOouxuFs
>>64349223go to sleep ivan
>>64349229keep seething john
>>64349182it won't be for much longer
>>64346729How is the SU-57 supposed to actually engage with the F-22 without getting blown out of the sky by its longer-range missiles? Its weapons are all obsolete Soviet crap.
>>64349229Chances are the false flagging jeets defending it like this more than the ivans...
>>64346743This is how you do a police beating
>>64349790https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5J7xHzI061k
>>64349790>>64349796Careful with that video, it's an antique
>>64347075>GrippenThis is Swedephobic.
>>64350115Naturally as subject of video is antique farming equipment.
>>64347089Not that much of a change. More like su27:f15A to su35:f15C(late)
>>64346729Wildly successful. They needed a cool plane for airshows, military parade flyovers, and propaganda footage. They managed to get us all talking about and discussing a plane they built like 3 of. This is the purpose of all modern Russian procurement. For combat use Soviet equipment.
>>64346778Lmao.
>>64347075>cheaper than the GripenMeh, F-35 is the most costy by far when it comes to flight hours.
>>64350846Yeah, but then again it delivers a boatload more capability too.
>>64350846>Meh, F-35 is the most costy by far when it comes to flight hours. Not if you start adding all the maintenance and costs of the targeting, EW, comms pods the Gripen needs to function in today's battle space that the F-35 comes standard with. Along with the AWACS, and EW assets that need to fly with the Gripen as its radar is smol, short ranged, and it lacks the power needed to jam at distance with its EW suite as it's not stealth, which means it needs stand-off jamming help. What's even calculated in the Gripen's flight/hr costs? Only fuel?
>>64353037
>>64346729I mean a plane does what it does. Nobody sensible will say an F-35 is the ultimate fleet defender. The failure is in their lack of production. I'm sure if they could have made 100 of them by now the war on Ukraine would have gone quite different, in some aspects.
>>64353043SEXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
>1 meter squared RCS value>same as the F18
>>64353065There's no way that airframe shape is that bad just because it doesn't have RAM everywhere except for the most critical areas. It has to be something like a running average of 0.25-0.5 across
>>64353267it is this bad, russian patent itself states 0.1-1m2 rcs values, the same as a clean super hornet and that's assuming russians can actually make the design correctly instead of pic relatedthey also can't into any RAM and the whole airframe is just aluminum painted with regular paint.

>>64355541You're still a coping faggot that talks about shit you have no clue about because you 'feel' something. Like you have enough stealth knowledge to go off looks and intuition. And that simulation was done by Stealth_Flanker (a literal vatnig), and a couple chinks which are also multipolar world aligned, so retards can't say it was biased. If anything, it was biased towards the SU-57, and is a best case scenario.

>>64355628Pretty much, maybe a 4.25 gen. Being 5th gen is more than just being stealthy to radar (low RCS). They also have their IR signature reduced as much as possible by burying the engine deep within the airframe, surrounded by the fuel tanks to mass it, and minimize the heat transfer into the body panels, and using the fuel as a coolant for the electronics, and even the leading edges. The engine nozzle is designed in such a way that it uses some of the engine bleed air to cool the nozzle, and injects it into the exhaust stream to mix with it and cool it down. They're shaped not only to reduce the radar RCS, but to create vortices that mix the air around the nozzle with the exhaust stream to further cool it down, so the further you get from the nozzle, the cooler the exhaust stream is - making a less intense IR signature from behind, and hard to detect from IRST from long range. They can't completely get rid of the heat from the exhaust plume, so they use the horizontal stabilizers to shield what's left of it from the side, and somewhat rearward angles. The chevron shapes on the F-22 and F-35 nozzles reduce the acoustic signature, too - which is why you see commercial airliners have engine fairings that are serrated at the rear (not for stealth, but for noise reduction). They are then painted with coatings that reduce the IR signature of their body panels. I'll add pics in further posts to try and help explain this better, and give PROOFS. I'll next touch on the even more important parts of a 5th gen like advanced sensors, avionics, processing abilities, and the all important sensor fusion.
>>64355628it'd be a run of the mill 4.5 gen if they ever actually finish it rather than slapping systems directly from su-35 into the unfinished prototype insteadduring its deploymen in syria sukhois were flying armed with dumb bombs on external hardpoints aimed using mk1 eyeballs and released manually, with older sukhoils as escorts because it was incapable of defending itself.
>>64355734Part II of article
>>64355734>They also have their IR signature reduced as much as possible by burying the engine deep within the airframe, surrounded by the fuel tanks to mass it, and minimize the heat transfer into the body panels, and using the fuel as a coolant for the electronics, and even the leading edges.F-22 uses the fuel to cool the avionics. It pulls the heat away from the sensors and dumps it in the fuel.
>>64355767Both the F-22 and F-35 surround the engine(s) with fuel tanks to insulate them from the body, which reduces the heat from the engines radiating into the body. Making it harder to see with IRST, unless the IRST is right up on them. At that distance, the F-22 and F-35 would've already detected and killed whatever is hunting them.
>>64355772
>>64355734>They're shaped not only to reduce the radar RCS, but to create vortices that mix the air around the nozzle with the exhaust stream to further cool it down, so the further you get from the nozzle, the cooler the exhaust stream is - making a less intense IR signature from behind, and hard to detect from IRST from long range.Simulation of the shed vortices created by the F-22's flat, chevron shaped nozzle.
>>64355788Comparison of F-35's serrated round nozzle to regular round nozzle like on the F-16.
>>64355796F-35 to F-16 IR comparison.
>>64355734>They can't completely get rid of the heat from the exhaust plume, so they use the horizontal stabilizers to shield what's left of it from the side, and somewhat rearward angles.Pic of the F-22 and F-35 from the side that shows how well the exhaust nozzle is hidden by the horizontal tails. If you notice how small the exhaust plume of the bottom nozzle is here, >>64355796, you get an idea of how well the setup hides what's left of the exhaust plumes IR signature from mid to long range IRST detection.
>>64355734>The chevron shapes on the F-22 and F-35 nozzles reduce the acoustic signature, too - which is why you see commercial airliners have engine fairings that are serrated at the rear (not for stealth, but for noise reduction). You're not going to see a 15dB reduction on the F22 and F-35, but, it does help. Even a 3dB reduction is huge.
>>64355812Now, onto the sensors, avionics, sensor fusion, and processing abilities. Not only do the F-22 and F-35 have extremely sensitive and powerful radars, they're also Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) which means they use a handful of techniques to disguise their radars emissions so that it's much, much harder - if not impossible - for the enemy to detect that the F-22/F-35 is using their radar to search, track, and target the enemy. With sensor fusion, all of their avionics are connected with each other, so, if the EOTS, DAS, LPI radar, EW suite, detect a threat, any one of them can tell the other sensors that it has detected a target in a certain area and the rest of the sensors will automatically look in that area for the threat. And with them being fused, you can select any target and get an EO, IR, DAS image of it, a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) high resolution (4") at 100mi+ ranges, and the EW suite will be collecting ELINT/SIGINT/COMINT data on it, too. All these different sensor data are cross-referenced with the extremely detailed and constantly updated threat library to tell you exactly what the target is, how best to attack it (route planning and what munition to use), and will even fly the route automatically. It will choose routes that will limit RCS spikes toward that enemy, along with controlling the engine and altitude to best minimize your IR signature to it. All of this integrated flight, propulsion, weapons, and signature control goes all the way back to the F-16 Advanced Fighter Technology Integration (AFTI) program, with McDonnell Douglas (Boeing) creating, writing, and integrating the software. The F-35's EW suite can triangulate the position of a radar passively, and use that data to launch a missile/bomb at it. It's also faster to do this than a flight of 3 F-16 Wild Weasels.I may come back and add more, or add sources/docs to read later. I'm kinda done for now. You get the idea, though. 5th gen isn't just radar stealth.
>>64355788Is it normal if...it looks like this?
>>64355734>Pretty much, maybe a 4.25 genYou mean 4.125 gen
>>64358834I was trying to be generous.
>>64353037>>64353043>>64353052>>64353054Hmmmm.
>>64346729neither seems to have acktchually done much, but at least we've seen the F-22 tons and know that it can walk the walk. alas, it was too good for its own good and nobody ever even tried to fuck with it "officially" and Russia can't afford to lose any 57s, so their just trailer queens that only look good from 20 feet away.
>>64358891>buttplugsL-lewd
Does anyone have that drawing of a russian jet (an su-57 I think) getting shot down by a missile whilst going "nooo senpai!" or something like that?
>>64346743Whenever I see this one I always think of the webm where one jeet is beating another with a wooden board so hard that it makes him lose control of his bowels and shit himself...and then I wonder why that one isn't posted anymore as they always seemed to get posted in tandem.
What was that Russian plane whose incredible abilities were literally fictional, but caused the US to believe their propaganda and shit ourselves so hard that we invented the F-15 to counter it, and in the process accidentally made a plane that was more formidable than the imaginary one? That really must have been one of the top ten most demoralizing moments to be Russian
>>64362506You're thinking of the Foxbat Loop. When the west got its first look at the MiG-25 they thought "holy shit the Soviets used titanium to make a mach 3 air superiority fighter" and the F-15 and F-16 had been in serial production for years when the US got their hands on a brand new one and found out out that it weighed more than three times as much as an F-15, was made of riveted and hand-welded steel and had a tiny combat radius and tube-based avionics.
>>64362506Most "soviet tech propaganda" was written by the Pentagon and Langley.
>>64364526Isn't that the one that clint eastwood stole because he could think in Russian?
>>64346859>"training" in russia>Your first flight school test: take the town of Kupiansk
>>64349098This bullying makes me mad every time.
>>64365356How is it even possible to see the level of open disdain and contempt their ruling class has for the ordinary citizen, and continue to believe that this man has your best interests in mind, and is in fact your only hope against some vaguely defined western crook who wants to "steal your riches?"
>>64355628Yes, it's a 4.5 gen in all but name. The RCS is on par with a B1 Lancer. And this is Russia's handcrafted last hope. Next door China is pumping out real 5th gen as fast or faster than Lockmart builds F35s.
>>64349182It's not a great translation, and in the full clip he goes on to acknowledge that he's joking and that he'll put his finest man to the task. He's just got to finish peeling potatoes first.
