Cop carry is understandably often optimized for sitting down more so than engaging in combat. Compare the battle belts of a USPA guy, a cop, and a cold war era soldier. USPA guy has all his gear where it is easiest to reach, triaged by importance. Cop has all his gear on the front of his belt except fairly flush items, soldier has a buttpack and canteens on the back of his belt, and not much on the front because hes liable to go prone. If you sit down and drive cars more often than you draw a gun, and a shoulder holster isnt an option, drop leg.

I like drop-leg holsters. Ideally, the grip is aligned with your palm with your arm relaxed, which is theoretically the fastest draw you could get from a handgun.
