My 9mm pcc suppressor setup is a little louder than my 22lr pcc suppressed but i still dont need ear protection, not even indoors.
>>64350977Sounds like a great way to give yourself lead poisoning.Even moreso shooting suppressed if your "PCC" is a DI AR.
I dont see why i would get lead poisoning. Its not like an indoor range has a ton more volume to dissipate fumes/lead. And my 9mm ammo is fmj so the lead could only get to me if i pulled the casings out of the printer paper (my target). I assume you are saying the naked lead 22lr bullets would evaporate lead right? My basement is pretty big and we have a radon negative pressure vent that pulls air out of the basement and pukes it outside anyways.
>>64351037Ok you don't get lead poisoning.Ranges get mapped for air flow, probably occupation volume, a few things. Then they figure out where the lead really goes and go test to make sure. The air systems are placed to facilitate that airflow to be moved away from occupied areas and to the borders of rooms then channeled away, negative pressure is only half the problem. The dust will form pockets in the flow and then you'll bump them and start voting all retarded.
>>64351037A few problems:1. Indoor gun ranges (are SUPPOSED to have) certain ventilation systems in place to prevent excessive lead exposure for their clients and employees. Your basement definitely doesn't have these.2. The vast majority of lead you breath in from shooting firearms comes from the primer, not the bullet. If you aren't using truly lead-free primers, you're contaminating your entire basement in lead particles. For your sake, please talk to your family doctor about testing your lead levels.
>>64351070I dont think you guys understand how radon mitigation works. Any lead in the air will be quickly sucked out by the radon pump in the basement and vented outside. And its not like im unloading thousands of rounds in my basement. Last time i shot only like 15 rounds.
Holy shit its an entire generation of retards. This is awesome. Fucking nobody is going to get lead poisoning from shooting a 9mm and 22lr in the basement. FFS
>22lr pcc
>>64351037Primers are lead styphante, even at a well ventilated range people get too much lead and you're filling your house with it
it's not just the lead, the combustion fumes contain god knows what butyl isothiopentate and polynitroacetate chlorides, things that cause liver and kidney damage and cancer. Shooting inside is fun but dumb without robust ventilation.
>>64350977I have in the past. Not a huge amount, just function checks and shit like that to save a trip to the range. The nearest decent shooting spot is an hour away.>>64351070NTA, but my employer tests me for lead annually. I haven't had an elevated result since 2004, and that didn't come from shooting in a basement.>>64351087They're retards and most of them don't actually shoot, anon. Don't place too much stock in what they say.>>64351357Wait until they find about about the 15 million tons of lead that wound up in the atmosphere during the 20th century via leaded gasoline.>but that stopped 30 years ago!And did anyone clean it up?
>>64351357This.
>>64354950Haha. Im kind of wondering what kind of guys end up like the mankarens in this thread crying about lead poisoning. Are they rednecks? Are they city slickers? Are they NEETs? Are they bored adolescents with karen parents who wont let them have a cell phone? Are they NoGunz? Are they the shiteating faggot members of r/liberalgunowners?I cant put my finger on it. Maybe i have lead poisoning already from the 15 shots i fired in my basement. Keep me in your prayers everyone. I hope i can at least die gracefully…
>>64354263Again. Im not unloading thousands of rounds in my basement and even if i was i have a radon ventilation system which sucks all the air out of my basement and quietly vents it outside.
>>64351037turns out ventilated indoor ranges still give you lead poisoning. Don't fuck with it man
>>64356044Im not shooting massive quantities like what goes on in an indoor range. Ill probably fire 10 rounds in my basement for every 10,000 rounds that get fired at a typical indoor range. And my basement has a ventilation system.
