>get an appetite for single shot hand cannons
>decide on one
>ammo is expensive ($7/round)
>gun demands skillful use and slow shooting, so it's fine
>laser sight is $300-400 on its own
>just pulling the trigger requires a $100+ investment
Whose richfag trick is this? It's a laser. It doesn't actually show us where the bullet's going to end up. It's just to let me while away with my gun and pretend I'm using it.
This is evil.
>>
I don't understand your complaint. The custom made boresight for a high end dangerous game gun is expensive? The same high end dangerous game gun has expensive ammo and you don't hand load? What the fuck are you even on about?
>>
>>64351400
Ah, whatever.
>>
Get one of the new Thompson Contenders in whatever caliber you like if you want to be poor and shoot big bore.
>>
>>64351367
Negro, just boresight it manually. You don't need a laser beam to make a rough enough sight adjustment to get the sights on the paper.
>>
>>64351516
It's not about the sights. It's about using the gun I bought without burning a hole in my pocket.
>>
I don't understand why you would want to bother spending so much money on a single bullet, so you can feel more recoil and see a larger hole in the paper?
>>
>>64351526
>buys a gun that fires $7 cartridges
>doesn't want to burn holes in pocket
I'm sorry friend but I think you bought the wrong gun
>>
Guys I bought a fun that fires $10 bills, is this gonna be expensive?
>>
>>64351533
I overdosed on single-shot propaganda. Now I can't even conceive of a safe follow-up shot in a life-threatening scenario.
>>
>>64351557
How do you expect to use the gun properly in the life threatening situation if you can't even afford to practice firing it
>>
Seriously get a contender and a dozen different barrels retard
>>
>>64351586
Do you now understand why I want the bore sight?
>>64351589
That's the one thing that's not an issue here.
>>
Then 3d print a cartridge with a cavity for a cheap laser to sit in
>>
Just get into reloading…. Buy one of the cheap 15-20$ laser boresight kits… it’s probably not as accurate as the super fancy custom fit one, but passably good enough to get by with and spend the rest of the cash on a single stage press and some gear….
>>
Poorfag problems
>>
>>64351367
>>just pulling the trigger requires a $100+ investment
What do you mean? It's not like as if a sight costs you money when you pull the trigger.
>>
>>64351665
>but passably good enough to get by with and spend the rest of the cash on a single stage press and some gear….
What do you recommend? I can't find much in .416 Rigby.
>>
>>64351367
>>gun demands skillful use
So, shooting it a lot in practice?
>>
>>64351526
It should only take a maximum of two shots to get your sights dialed in, especially on a fixed-base cannon. If you aren't willing to shell out $14 on sighting rounds, I don't know what to tell you. Manually boresight at 100y, fire two rounds without changing its position, then adjust for the mean point of impact on those two shots. Simple.

The conical end of the laser centers it in the barrel, the collars expand as you tighten them centering the tail end in the barrel. Your probably not gonna find a 416 specific laser kit without spending a ton but you don’t need to. These are meant to fit across a range of calibers. After putting the laser in put the rifle in a vice and slowly turn the laser while watching it. If it scribes a circle then the laser isn’t centered
>>
>>64351694
>What do you recommend?
Any of them.

> I can't find much in .416 Rigby.
They're generic anon. They work on any caliber.
>>
>>64351762
You're assuming anon doesn't flinch. That's a big ask for a new shooter with a gun like that.
>>
>>64351762
Any less than five is stupidity. Expect it to take 10-15 if you reasonably know what you're doing.
>>
>>64352129
Wrong. Skill issue.
>>64352109
I assume he's not firing a cannon from the hip, and he'll have a tripod
>>
>>64354614
>and he'll have a tripod
lolwhut
that's a hell of an assumption. Tripods are a tactiool sniper larp thing, not a big game hunter larp thing. They're also expensive and OP sounds like a poorfag.

No. Anon's gonna have a fun time because he's either going to be standing or shooting off a bench.
>>
In general firearms are expensive. They're mantoys on par with cars and computers. Just pick your poison.
>>
>>64352053
Wtf is wrong with your link posting? Lrn2lnk, fag.
>>
>>64356375
>In general firearms are expensive
Pin heads don't understand that like skiing or football, shooting is an equipment intensive sport. What we need to do is combine football with biathalon, hopefully that will keep out the poors.
>>
>>64351367
>guys, I want to talk about this expensive gun I bought!
>doesn't post a picture
You didn't buy shit.
>>
>>64356464
I never said I bought one. I'm not dumb enough to throw money at a gun whose ammunition and training equipment I can't afford.
>>
>>64356375
>In general firearms are expensive.
Only if you insist on BIGBOOLET larp or tactil33t cbc delta omega ops larp dumping a million rounds while wearing quadnods. You could also just get a nice 22lr gun and be happy.
>>
>>64360100
If you're whining about the cost of a boresight (which is not a tool for practicing dry firing) and the cost of ammo you definitely can't afford the 16-20k a base model Rigby costs. What even was the point of this thread?
>>
>Expensive niche toy is... le expensive?
>>
>>64351367
Get a 45-70 falling block rifle and a Lee loader.

perhaps you require a sub calibre adaptor
>>
>>64351367
I got a 458 win mag rifle this summer and ammo here is like $10/rd off the shelf. But reloading it brought the cost down to like $3 or something, 458 SOCOM bullets are super cheap So I just use those.
