I like taking my .308 to the range. It has an SJC Titan compensator and not only is it louder than anything you can imagine but the airwaves shake stuff. When I'm done shooting and you sort of look around you see all these faces staring at you and you go "what?".

I took a nogunz to a range and he did really well with pistols. Only thing he kind of fucked up on was not getting a good cheek weld on the ar so he broke the seal of his ear pro. But that was with like 15 minutes PMI. He shot pretty well overall and enjoyed it.

I recently bought my first firearm, a glock 17 but I have not shot it yet. I don't have anyone to go to the range with and the local one doesn't offer classes or anything like that. I know about the basic rules of gun safety, ie gun is always loaded, hands of the trigger, don't muzzle sweep and keep downrange is there anything else I should know? I'm still nervous about making a huge mistake and getting yelled at by the RSO.

Mine had a 8lb "plus connector" which fucked the trigger pull because it was meant to obstacle law enforcement from negligently discharging so I replaced that with an OEM 4.5lb "minus connector". I also replaced the slide spring with a 20-pounder because the factory 17-pounder feels shitty in my opinion and the Gen 4 onwards has a double spring so it seems I'm not the only one who thinks thinks it's inadequate

If you don't have experience with guns it makes sense to be worried about recoil because you know it's there but not how significant it is. Like anything you get used to it very quickly.
