Favorite fictional weapon / vehicle? Here's mine
>>64371173Also the LAAT, specifically this modified one.
>>64371173Is it me or this scene was inspired by predator?
I liked the moans that the female characters would do when you use this on them.

>>64371173gunship from half life 2
>>64371173loved it
>>64371575fave vic
>>64371173Half of the Titanfall 2 weapons could make the list but if I had to pick one, it'd be the EM-4 Cold War. Fuckin love this thing
>>64371173This variation of the TIE fighter, the TIE Striker.
>>64371597Okay one more, the L-STAR is a fuckin sweet imagining of a futuristic energy LMG. Tiny barrel length yet still a big heavy motherfucker.
>>64371597loved the feel of this one
>>64371638It's like if glock mag pccs weren't gay and retarded looking
>>64371173Fuck off, faggot.
>>64371173Obligatory.
>>64371173Remember that Star Wars is just WW2 with some vacuum-formed plastic coverings.
>>64371183One of the most retarded Star Wars vehicles I've ever seen. 2 ball turrets facing forward, ball turrets on the sides, ball turrets on the "wings".
>>64371648Based.
>>64371772Honestly incredibly based concept
>>64371733No wonder boomers loved it
>>64371173DKS 501 from Fallout. Just looks cool
>>64371427wait, it was using keurig pods the whole time ?
>>64371772>When people ask me how available I think weapons should be
For me, it's the assault rifle from the Riddick games.
>don't look too closely at the chainsaw assemblystill cool>>64371173>Merr-Sonn Cip-Quadkandosii>>64371733and that's why it's based>>64371767if American bombers had accessible wing spaces like the Junkers G.38, it's eminently possible that a gunship variant like the YB-40 would have put turrets in there
>>64371772kek
>>64372405>no breakage catcher>no throttle lockout>no kickback brake>no chain guard>no bar coverGood luck getting insurance with THAT thing
BAUR H-AR my beloved
>>64372405Looks better with a stock.
>>64372354>do you see him?>SHUT THE FUCK UP
>>64372574Real answer would be Omaha (modded to do singe projectiles) or Kenshin (modded to add a single-shot mode), but if we're pulling one from the game I'd have to consider Skippy, if only to foist it onto someone I don't like.
>>64372354Fuck, what game was that from?
>>64372813Oh nevermind, I just remembered it was F.E.A.R
Love hand-cannons with explosive rounds.
>>64371772>>64371866>100 eddies for a gun worse than a $80 Hi Point in literally every way imaginableIt's been one hundred years how is the market not at saturation yet, basic bitch 9mm pistols would be like $20 and you wouldn't have to throw them out after you use them.
>>64371702Mean!
I always like the Paris Frigates from halo. I like how its pretty much just shaped like a really big gun cause it is a really big gun.
>>64371173this machine kills jackal snipers, invisible elites, incoming banshees, allied soldiers, and >>64372981 this thing in 10 shots or Cortana will go rampant for you
I like fictional weapons that make sense and have in-universe justifications, like this iconic piece
>>64373008U think this bihh got a switch in it??
>>64371173OG Clone Wars was kino
>>64371173Imperial Thunderbolt heavy fighter from 40k just looks like a mean motherfucker. Double Eagle is literally 40k Battle of Britain but also Star Wars but in the atmosphere in a recursive loop but that book has one of my favorite pulp war endings.
>>64371597Not any 1 weapon specifically but Titanfall II has so many little tiny lived-in worldbuilding details I fucking love. Maybe not cassette futurism per se but like Macross Plus and old Dragon Ball where everything wasnt weird and sleek. The radios being things you could slot in to a universal form factor on your helmet, all the latches and physical controls inside of BT-7274, the quilted padding and even the survival kit all actually have a lot of attention to detail. I should replay that campaign, it's the best 80s sci fi action movie ever made.
>>64373515I want the compressed pneumatic air rifle from Metro 2033 so bad
I like the blazer from the newer EDF games. The thing tears shit apart. Also that 25 meter long tank with a battleship main gun several smoothbore canons, machine guns and missile launchers. Makes the Maus look like a bitch.
>>64371173For me? It’s the gun used by the Asian dude in rogue one
The glory of the Wave Motion Gun/Macross Cannon in the size of a Walther ppK.
The Crusader tank in Saint's Row III is outfitted with some kind of magnetic cannon and a Maser pulse gun on the co-ax, with another Maser in beam configuration for the commander's mount. It's pretty sexo.
jabal spitdart
>>64371173This weapon appeared for a grand total of 5 seconds, archived literally ZERO kills, and were just there to look cool and possibly sell toys (I do not know if they made a quad blaster cannon ARC Trooper action figure but if they didn't someone should have been shot for it) but despite all that it still lives rent free in my head to this day.
I found out about the Advance Wars 3D spinoffs, Battalion Wars, recently, and I'm in love with their entire goofy-ass art style of Burgerland, Mother Russia, and Friends. The Russkies are literally just 40k Orcs that paint everything red and add big pointy grins made of rusty pig-iron to all their vehicles. At the same time, unlike the GBA games that just kind of lift IRL designs and mix 'em up together into different countries, most of a unit's gear is all based on either real world designs from roughly the same nation with the inspirations put front and center in the descriptions, or enough pusher props and swept wings to fill the Crimson Skies hole.>The "double bubble" of the tandem cockpit of the Millicent Hound-E gunship is overpressurized to resist attack from biological agents. As a side effect of the high pressure, pilots are noticeably svelter upon completing a tour of duty.
>>64371173Kind of breaking the rules here with a 50m tall armed and armored construction mech but hey, i can 3d print a tank the size of a apartment building in 12 seconds and get strategic weapons in the air in like 15 minutes
>>64374751>A byproduct of intercontinental-range weapons development, the MIDGE-21 started life as a ballistic missile. Only in the late stages of development was the addition of wings considered — much to the delight of the test pilots.
>>64374624
>>64371173Far from the best unit and I'm unsure if it counts as either a weapon or vehicle, but I love seeing it just delete a formation with 5 trillion rocketsMonkeylord is close second but I love almost all cybran units
>>64374770Gesundheit
>>64371427>90 rounds all in allThe gun is nice but fuuuck it's ammo starved. Desintegration ball is cool though
>>64371733Most sci fi stuff is old school war with fancy toys, because it's not much fun watching blips on a radar beep boop and then not be there.
>>64371173>we put in the thing that makes robots fly>so it flies now?>no, but it no longer falls over
>>64374751The naval vessels introduced in the second game are interesting because many of the battleship and dreadnought class ships are based more on pre-WW1 designs than anything more conventional. >"As staple diet of the Tundran people, the turnip permeates every sphere of the country's society. The displacement of the Gorgigrad-class Battleship is officially recorded as 30,000 turnips, the vegetable being a standard unit of nautical measurement." Complete with accurate-to-life exhaust fumes.
>>64375077I'm gonna come out and say that I think the Solar Empire's gunship is sexo.>"In addition to banks of sophisticated jet thrusters, the Type-22 "Hummingbird" VTOL gunship provides lift through Reverse Magneto anti-gravity arrays built into the unit's underbelly. The system has the passive effect of inducing intense motion sickness in any unprotected infantry beneath."
>>64371183
>>64375077I always wondered why the wars games made bigger battleships with dreadnoughts but never added aircraft carriers.
>>64376027Just wouldn't really work with the gameplay style unless you do something weird with like drone carriers that direct little squadrons like they're grunts.
>>64376027because aircraft carriers are gay and lame
>>64376105you talk mad shit for someone in CIWS range
>>64376105Fucking dreadnaughts and carriers ruined comfy based naval warfare and 5% hit rates
>>64374888The Alteisen is such a stupid design, I love it.
>>64374751For me, it's the Iron Legion. >>64376027There was no need for carrier in battalion wars, fighters and bombers didn't need to resupply. It could probably function just like an airbase that has to be destroyed but can't be captured.
>>64376657glowing boiler/engine slot things is automatically cool
>>64371575For me it's graviton lance.
>>64376867Bad Juju with the Beast Magic ornament for me if we're doing Destiny exotics. Anything Hakke for more realistic.
>>64376936Trust
>>64371733Vilar Perosa's were from WWI, dummy.
>>64371173M60A4. Basically an M60 mounting the M60A2 turret but with a conventional 120mm gun and a semi-automated loading system. Featured the 1200hp version of the Continental AVDS, explosive reactive armor and a new fire control system. There were some Chrysler proposals to actually keep that weird turret shape in production but crews didn't like how small it was. I think it was only researched back when South Korea was looking to build the M60 locally before the K1 program was started.
>>64377092
>>64371575>>64376867>>64376936>>64377092There is only one answer, and it's the Besto

>>64378005i'll say i always liked the concept of arbalest, a post apocalyptic nigger rigged railgun
>>64377092smoothbore?
>>64371604I think I could make an RC version a Striker. The TIE Reaper is also kino.
>>64378086Destiny handcannons are weird. Trust is an energy weapon though, so it wouldn't be rifled anyways.Western Front ornament for Monte Carlo is pretty based too.
>>64376936Vigilance Wing for Pulses, but with the 1 skin that gave you a more 40k Imperial Guard look and a much better sight. So much fun in Crucible. I miss Blast Furnace the most. Destiny 2 was a great game surrounded by a steaming pile of shit and any time they got it cleaned up enough, they reset everything again either because they were so incompetent or because it was designed to make you continually re-grind to be where you were. Late 2018-Beyond Light (Ignoring Shadowkeep but Season of Dawn was good), and then the time when the 25th anniversary with Dares + Fusion rifles being busted as fuck was the best times but how in the fuck do you end a multiplayer game with less content, even down to PvP maps, than you had before? I want to get the good Bungie Devs and the good Respawn Devs and have them make something like Titanfall II + the super tight gunplay and magic space powers and raids of Destiny.
>>64378084Seeing a Hunter in Crucible pop a golden gun and then hitting them with the toaster strudel of death was a 10/10 life changing experience. Honestly the best use case for it was anything at a distance and just eyeballing where you thought they'd be and hearing that satisfying pop when you hit.
>>64378455I haven't played destiny 2 in since forsaken. I remember grinding out the hundred something black armory/forge whatever they were called missions to get this thing and the bow that does poison damage. I will never get that time back.
>>64375084>"The maximum payload of the Merseychester Bomber is limited by its large single-wheel undercarriage. Discussion of the origin of this rather impractical feature is considered bad taste in Anglo Air Force circles." "Yes we KNOW it's a stupid design, shut up!"
>>64378678IT'S SO BRITISH I SHAT THE QUEEN
>>64378685The game's developer is actually British, so their stereotyping for the Anglo Isles faction is pretty funny.>"The MK-1 "Big Billy" has changed little in its operational history. Formerly steam-powered, the vehicles have now been fully re-fitted to run on yeast extract. Strict regulations prevent tank pilots from eating the fuel, which tastes especially good on toast." They got a tank to run on fucking MARMITE.
>>64378700>throwing together Bongs and Oz for the sake of funny designsDon't some of their troops have kilts too, not just the handlebar mustaches? Heh. I never actually looked into the developers, I only know that the cover art for the first game was drawn by the AndroidArts guy and for years I got it confused with Cortex Command because of it.
>>64378678And here's the unreleased Anglo Strato Destroyer concept, which takes on a much more Lancaster-like appearance. The tail design is... terrifying, and it is fitted with a hell of a lot of dakka. Strato Destroyers are exceedingly rare in both games and serve as hybrid heavy bombers and anti-air fortresses thanks to their homing missiles.
>>64378728Wait, no shit? BW1 and Cortex Command? That... shit. That makes sense. I always had a nagging suspicion that Cortex Command's drawn art had something familiar about it.
>>64378728>Ozno Oz hereMarmite is bong; Vegemite is bogangetting it wrong gets you shanked in the wrong pubs
>>64378736Yeah, the guy's got a pretty distinct style even years later. There's a bunch of CC stuff on his site (along with all sorts of other games) but I double-checked it and couldn't actually find anything about Battalion Wars so I thought I was going nuts 'til I checked the actual credits.
>>64371723One heck of a parade float.
>>64371173Dead spaces pulse rifle
>>64378736I never put that together either but I totally see it now.
>>64371173This was my everyday carry in a galaxy far, far away (Bria server)

>>64379124Damn, son. I had no idea what I was doing in this game. Spent my whole time playing the slitherhorn for people as they slaughtered sand people.
>>64379535>>64380031I feel like the author wasted an opportunity to say the droids are just built into the tank and entombed there forever.Maybe I've been consuming too much 40k content.
>>64380171That era of star wars already had droids whose entire body was just a tank anyway.
>>64374434>Sips White MonsterAh, the good ol' Graviton Wave Projector. Now that's a REAL human's gun. You ain't accessin' the Net Sphere if you ain't droolin' at that!

>>64380937Once a corposlime, always a corposlime
>>64371173Its silly robot shit but I fucking love the disguised cargo ship in Unicorn that uses a spare mech in a baby harness as a CWIS turret.
>>64381056I like how they had an entire arsenal of OYW surplus MS weapons on board.
>>64378733They're rare cause they're OP. The Xylvanian ones were annoying in the final Tundran mission.
>>64374751the designs are sick but i could not get into this game at all, the controls are ASS, like they knew the gamecube controller's little c-stick wasn't really fit for twin stick movement but instead of trying to make it work they just completely gave up
>>64371767The one in the picture ditches the front ball turrets and the wing ones are always unmanned.
>>64381283Try playing the second game. BW2 has far better controls. imo the controls on an emulator is significantly better than playing on the wii.
>>64378678looks like the dambusters bomb.
>>64381080That was probably all the could afford after spending most of their operations budget on Big Puru's robot.
>>64381661that's what the inspiration actually was, huh
>>64371173BASED
>>64380762Real OG fans know that the alternate universe Cibo encountered during the Toha Heavy Industries Arc called it the Graviton Wave Projector.
>>64381056>Space shuttle door gunners are real in Gundam
Halo Reach army trooper are the supreme LARP
>>64371427Did you even play the fucking game? Its literally part of the reload animation that happens right in font of your face. And no it doesn't "fire" them directly, they contain ammo/energy that then gets fired.
I've always liked the sleek, futuristic and conventionally sci-fi looking Chaos ships from Battlefleet Gothic. Andy Chambers mentions that the Traitor Legions' ships were designed to look so high tech because they are ships from the Great Crusade when humanity was still producing premium shit. So they are faster and have much more advanced and powerful beam weapons. Meanwhile the standard Imperial space bricks are the slower less advanced ships the Imperium still has the ability to produce in the modern setting that focus on thicker armor, projectile weapons, torpedos and cathedrals. >>64374624It's a basic bitch answer but for me its the Hyperion. The subtle off-green coloring and the sharp squared off profile aside from the slightly oversized forward weapon batteries.
>>64371173It's weird looking but it just sits right with me...
Matt Plog helped keep my interest in Battletech on life support about 4-5 extra years before I finally pulled the plug>>64380171apparently there was indeed criticism about why the Trade Federation droids were humanoid robots piloting tanks and using guns instead of simply using robot tanks and having built-in weaponry, so the next movie featured robot tanks and wrist blasters and they inserted a bit of lore about how the Trade Federation's army in the first movie was a secret army so it made use of tanks designed for living crew>>64381056>Unicorn>>64382565as some anon said here in the last Gundam thread, aesthetically, Unicorn was Gundam GWOT
>>64383101While generally true (chaos ships are often Great Crusade era ships) you have to remember that a lot of the times they are also in terrible state of disrepair. When systems break they have no way to repair them into previous high tech tier, and have to ghetto-rig some alternative that is usually crude and inefficient. Like the famous picture of "the Macro-cannon autoloader is busted, so we'll just use a thousand slaves to operate it manually". Or if some engine is broken, they'll just make a big-ass hamster wheel and have slaves churn it 24/7 until their legs break. Tech is difficult and expensive to make, but you can always have more slaves. Not that the Imperium would be much different, they too will absolutely go for Smekalka-type cope technology if they have no other option. But usually the Imperials have better access to quality materials and shipyards, so they tend to have things a bit better, even if it's not Great Crusade era gucci stuff. Also, occasionally chaos ships can have much more unorthoidox and weird, wacky tech, because the dark mechanicum isn't as afraid to experiment and try new designs (or just bolt on some tech stolen from aliens). So their ships may have some exotic weapons systems or other configurations.
>>64383175I mean to be fair it's not even really a gun so it can look as janky as it needs to. Based pick btw, Emperor owns.
>>64371173It'd probably blow your arm out of your socket IRL but damn is it cool as fuck.
>>64371173Does this count?
>>64383585no
>>64382704I like their variety
>>64383500Doesn't it at one point?
>fire 4 barrel gun>guys top half goes flying>achievement: Topless
>>64384325>all of the female Marines are extra cute for some reason>in a game where they cranked up the nightmarish aesthetic of everythingI didn't notice it until a couple weeks ago when I playing some missions on reach. It's been years
>>64384776>>64384325They gave all the female Marines round muscular butts. It's a fact that men like round muscular butts.
>>64383237>unicorn is the gwotit's true, it's a mostly low intensity conflict taking place in parts of the setting that have been neglected by current politics and everyone is fielding either the most high speed low drag tacticool shit imaginable, or whatever was left behind in their regions by the last 3 major conflicts that still functions. But watching the equivalent of MiG-15 and terrorist captured F4 Phantoms fight F15's and F22's is pretty fun
>>64374751Tundran posting and not including their light tank is a crime. >"The Golikov T-23 "Cavalry Tank" shares components with mass-produced agricultural equipment. The convertible chassis allows for the vehicle to be dismantled and reassembled as a tractor in minutes."
>>64384919We can go bigger
