I have my EDC and keep my main bolt and semi rifles in range bags all ready to go, and I have a small pack I also keep ready just for laziness factor of "oh it's nice and I've got an hour lets go for a hike". So in principle easy to get on the basics and have a weapon anyway. But guns and ammo are heavy, I'm not taking both unless this is "1 minute to get into your truck and start driving". Same thing with a range of other kit that's readily on hand.
