Joined the Army Reserve 2 years ago to go intel — got my TS/SCI, intel specialist training, and vet status. Since then I’ve only been landing physical security gigs at sensitive sites. Decent pay, but it’s boring as hell and not what I want long term.

Got a degree, clearance, and intel background. What civilian jobs would be easy to get with my experience and a solid upgrade from basic security work?

Looking for real advice from other vets/intel anons — what’s the smartest, easiest move career-wise from here? I've tried applying as a facility security officer and industrial security but never get picked. what the hell am i doing wrong, i have the clearance?

Use the dull time during security work to do distance learning. I had to do similar many years ago and it was a complete change in my life.

The problem is that going to school will expire your clearance because the cheeto commander changes how long a clearance can last without being employed so unless you joined as an officer and got a TSI/SCI, it won't matter.

My TS/SCI expired since I didn't have any relevang skills out of the Navy, hell I wasn't even rated and did 4 years as an E3 undesinated because I didn't want to do subs as a sonar tech.

go to school for cyber security and land a 300k job with AWS. That or join the border patrol
